He refused to back down. He would not go silently into the night nor would he let her have her way with him. It was not in his nature to be so open and vulnerable like that. He would assert his case and move on. He would not flee with his tail tucked between his legs. Satisfaction found his eyes as his teeth found his mark.

His teeth sank in, feeling as she met him head on and her jaws snapped forward. He hissed, feeling as she nipped at the sensitive area near his ribs. He hissed, reigniting his vigor in a whole new way, releasing his grip as he reared back, not too far as he aimed to grab her muzzle with his jaws. He wanted to finish this silly tussle that she had initiated for no good reason. He had never encountered a woman so wild before, almost feral. He didn’t trust her and in that moment he wanted to be as far away from her as possible.

He needed to assert what he already knew. Speak softly and carry a finishing bite. He was a man of few words, because actions always spoke louder and he had no problem sinking his teeth into those who deserved it. There was a part of him that wanted answers. He wanted to know why the fuck she had attacked him in the first place, but in order to demand such from her he needed to win.

Walrus
She wasn't quick enough. Each and every time, she simply wasn't as fast as he was. She moved to turn the tables on him when he had released his grip, only to find the bridge of her muzzle betwixt his pressing fangs. Walrus snarled and hissed like the trapped animal she was, unable to even tear herself free from his teeth though she valiantly tried.

Begrudgingly, inch by inch, she lowered her presence, finally conceding to the stranger. She supposed it was what she deserved, acting without thinking, but she'd been rather wrapped up in her own head. There would be no apologies, however, especially now that the man had managed the upper paw.

The low rumble within her chest never quite faded.

Walrus is conceding & failed her escape attempt.

Truthfully, the man had expected more of a fight from a beast so wild as to lunge without provocation. Instead, she hissed and he contained her, successfully locking around her muzzle as she realized her defeat. All he had to show for it was some soreness in the morning and some scratches he could easily tend to after. Pathetic.

He watched with satisfaction and confidence as she lowered herself in his presence. He left his grip for a few seconds before releasing her, still staying hovered over her, his eyes narrowed as the questions burned deep in his belly. “Why?” The question fell in a deep rumble from his chest as he demanded to know why she had attacked him in the first place. Had he done something to offend, or did she simply enjoy conflict started for no reason? He needed answers and he would be damned if he wasn’t going to get them from her.

He had his ways, surely, to pry the information out of her if he needed to? He had already proven his mettle and she could recognize that now, right? This woman no longer reminded him of Vese. She hadn’t put up enough of a fight; she wasn’t fast or strong enough to be the similarly ebony colored woman he chased after and yearned to find once more. He offered no name, no one needed to know and it was much too quaint and pedestrian for him to offer. All he wanted was an answer.

Walrus
Walrus' gaze burned, the desire to strike out again immense within her gut. Honor was not the concern - she would not push her own luck, and be severely wounded within the first few hours of her independence. She began to back away from under his shadow, eager to remove herself from such vulnerability.

Why?

She snorted, sending up a flurry of snowflakes. What kind of question was that? Walrus began to raise her skull.

"'Cuz I c'n."

She backed away from under him once he had released her and he allowed her to do so, a steely hazel gaze locked on her as she shied away from him. As she should. What she had done had been foolish, and had he been a different man he might have inflicted a harsher punishment for her. He knew many from his homelands who would not have hesitated to take her ear for what she had done… still, he only demanded a question from her, a one syllable word demanding an explanation for why she had done it.

And instead, he was met with some kind of arrogance, his gaze unmoving and unfazed by the brash nature of her statement back. He contemplated it for a second, his eyes narrowing in that moment as he let a deep growl rumble from his chest, his teeth barring for a moment. He didn’t understand nor was he fond of that answer. “Leave.” The demand came, a silent threat of ‘before I do something just because I can’ hidden deep into his tone though he was not certain if she would pick up on it. He even dared to take a few steps forward, his tail curling atop him as his fur bristled along his spine.

He was giving her one chance to leave before he chased her off and headed on his own journey to find the wolf he had been seeking for months. The solitude and ill luck of his search had worn much of the patience out of his body and he no longer had the time to deal with this woman in front of him anymore.

Walrus
He had to go and push just the right button, didn't he? Walrus could understand his not wanting to turn his back to her, but she sure as well wasn't doing so for him on command. Even if it cost her some flesh. Her lips tipped ever so slightly upward in a smile, a few yards put between them and her posture now risen to a comfortable, casual height. Still, she did not move, and her burning eyes bored back.

Walrus didn't speak, nor did she hint aggressions, but her ground was stood. Just because he had somewhere to go didn't mean she was done with this place.

Walrus' HP is now 0.

She did not take his request into account. It was not for his benefit but for her own. She straightened up and he lacked amusement, his eyes narrowing at her as he growled. Her eyes locked with his as he snarled, pushing off quickly as he bound for her shoulder, hoping to make her pay a price she would not soon forget for her stubbornness.

He was not looking to maim, only to wound her in a way that would take a few days to heal, hoping to feel his teeth sink into her flesh once more and that the force of the action might knock her over. He didn’t care if she was aggressive this time around, he had proven his might, and he planned to take her down. He had places to go. He had a woman to find.

Couldn't even let her have that much, could he? Begrudgingly she dredged up the will power to turn and run from the fight rather than return the anger with which is teeth carved through her skin. It would scar, and join the others like notches in a post. This incident marked an injury she would need to pay back.

With a silent snarl she fled, but only as far as he insisted on following. Once she could no longer hear or smell or otherwise sense him in her proximity, she would slow and take stock of what had transpired, still refusing to leave the Fen on the whole. Surely he had no reason to chase her through the entire forest.
