Marsh Barrew

Though Cali's words tumbled past his ears without properly registering, he trusted her to give a proper account of what had happened. From the understanding on Corinna's face, which he watched attentively, he believed his trust to be well-placed. Corinna's quiet gratitude was not missed, and a small weight lifted from his chest. She was safe. Her children were safe.

Not only that, but others were appearing. The anger in Triell's dark features were as pronounced as his own, and Marsh felt a rush of vicious pleasure that he was not the only one utterly infuriated by their rival pack's antics. Ice's single bitter word - which Marsh recognised as the traitor's name - pleased him further, not least for the knowledge that Ice had snapped out of whatever peculiar daze he had been subject to. Fury burst from Triell lips, and though Marsh could not follow their meaning he drank their intent. The blood still boiled in his veins, and it was pleasing to see and hear another as incensed as he.

The situation swiftly spiralled beyond his capacity to easily follow it, though it did not matter. Marsh was not here to carefully discuss what needed to be done and how; as far as he was concerned, his job had been informing the pack of the danger. Cali could serve as mouthpiece if necessary, though nobody contested the damning evidence. Where it went from here, Marsh was not concerned; he trusted his leaders to react appropriately, whether that meant with aggression or more care. Though diplomacy was not his style, this was not his pack to lead. Marsh would go, and do, as he was bidden.

Ice spoke, then Corinna spoke, and then Indru made his appearance and he spoke as well, and Marsh was pleased by the hard edge to his voice. Yes, Swift River would react accordingly.

Still agitated, Marsh was at least sated by the knowledge that the pack was at full awareness - those who had not shown would doubtless be warned - and was able to finally begin calming down properly. Almost without thinking, he turned briefly to Ice and nudged the wolf in the cheek, a small gesture meant to comfort himself. It was out of his hands now.

Cali Swiftpaw

Triell, she had yet to meet and Corinna and Ice she had only met briefly under awkward circumstances. It seemed that Marsh's show of confidence in her and her continued presence were enough to give her credence for them. In any case, her words merely gave voice to Marsh's silent anger. As each wolf showed up and reacted in a myriad of levels of anger, she made an even bigger point of filing away the offending scent of the mystery pack. She still didn't have the pack's designation, but the names Rhysis and Naira were committed to memory. Obviously the leaders of the rival pack.

Suddenly, the white female felt the overwhelming urge to volunteer for the future confrontation. She hoped that she wasn't overstepping her bounds, but she was quickly developing a protective nature for her adoptive pack. Taking a small step forward and lifting her head and tail slightly to show confidence she said in a soft, but sure voice, "If you will allow it, I volunteer to be a part of our show of strength when the time comes." Then she turned her head towards Corinna, wishing that she knew her better at this point, and conceded, "Unless of course you wish me to stay." She could only pray that Corinna took her statement for what it was. She would be a part of it only if the leadess wished it, for she still felt as if she did not have the female's full approval. It was entirely possible that Corinna may not feel that she could actually contribute to a show of strength.

Triell Tainn
sorry guys <3

If I go crazy then will you stillcall me superman?

A dark smirk flinched on the side of his face upon his silver's friend's remark. He almost wished to say the exact thing to the the newest leader in the lore, and could imagine the flicker of irritation in Rhysis' silver eyes. He further tightened his jaws, holding his tongue, and trying to make his coiled muscles loose. He was ready to do something, the longer he stood the easier it became to remain here, and discuss what they should do. He should sit, and once moved his hind haunches in attempt. He was unable to make himself take a seat. Instead with his intense gaze he waited for what Corinna would say. The invisible minutes ticked by, his black hair would settled back in place. He was still quite irritated, and angered by the whole thing when Corinna spoke up it kept his thoughts settled, and collected. When she finished he averted his eyes, trying not to let his emotions leak out any further. She would call for Indru, and Triell was quite anxious for his brother's reason.

Triell's body posture was rigid, but he did his best to make sure his tail and head were properly down when Indru arrived on scene. He was happy to see Indy was not taking this lightly, and saw that something needed to be done. What? Triell did not want war, nor was he ready for one. He really just wanted the end of Rhysis to put an end to all things. He had it in his head just to speak to Naira directly and warn her. Surely if they were smart they would punish if not throw out the senseless trespassers who could make the already fickle relationship of the packs come to a blazing end. He held his tongue, not sure what else may leave his lips. He was not all reasonable right now, and Indru's words were much needed. It was not entirely what Triell wanted to hear, but it did put a few questions to rest. No mercy and when the time was right they could pay them a visit of their own. Triell's mask was dark and brooding. If a couple went now to inform their leaders who should go? He did want to volunteer, but if it was Rhysis he met he did not see it going well. After what Ice had done, and last night how could it? He was very quiet after getting his words off his chest, and his eyes would skip around the circle trying to read his fellow River wolves' thoughts. He could reach out as the rest did, he felt like his own touch would burn them, turn them into ash because he was a loaded gun. Cali spoke of volunteering her strength, and a dark ear would twist in her direction. She seemed loyal enough to be a part of this group, and a part of him knew he should do his part to get to know her. Maybe even test her skill so if this happened again maybe she could inflict some damage. His rested to Marsh knowing he would be the best teacher.

A rushed breath, he twitched his ears, and shook his ruffled coat. "I would volunteer to pass the word unto Naira. I would hope she would be just as displeased, but I doubt I would see her, and it wouldn't do anyone any good if I met Rhysis instead or the fools who crossed into our home." His partial golden gaze met Indru's, "But I will do whatever is asked, and expected of me."

I'm not the fastest llama in the pen either *grimaces*

you do not know who is your friend
or who is your enemy
until the ICE breaks.
For once, he felt an aversion towards words - but not because of their nature, but because of what they created. The painful, aching hunger, the mixture of fury and agony, demanded release. It demanded action. It wanted to do something, rip something apart, a deeply rooted primal instinct. Words, they created obstacles. Hindrances. Slowed it down. His blood, always on fire these days, barely cooled, yet he remained calm - just, tense. He didn't want to stand here and talk. He wanted to run up the mountainside, breathless and footsore, and charge at something. It would be the most stupid conditions ever, but it would be - satisfying. He smothered a keen and pressed his head against Marsh's neck, seeking comfort in the tense muscles underneath his copper fur, drinking in their power. If Marsh stood still, so would he, but the words, they rushed past him unheard until Indru showed up. No mercy. But later. Later! He didn't want later! His hazy gaze swept up to Indru, wanting to challenge his statement, but the thought perished as quickly as it had come - Marsh's nose nudged his cheek, and he felt the tension leave Marsh. If he was okay with this... then Ice would be, too. He didn't hear what Triell and Cali said, just turned his distant gaze onto Indru and Cori, and gave them a nod. If they needed him, they knew his name. If they needed him, he'd come.

But for now, he just wanted to hide. He took a step backwards, pressed his muzzle to Marsh's shoulder, and then turned to walk away. He had heard what he needed - wait. but don't forget. He wouldn't forget, not this, but the question was, would he remember, the other things? He whined under his breath, disappearing like a ghost.

[ Ice out. If you for some reason need him back, he can be called back. :P ]

Corinna Donata

Gone Tomorrow

Her howl had the desired affect, and soon enough, her tawny furred mate joined the group. As she had upon arrival, his attention was immediately caught by the foreign patch of fur and the accompanying scent of the Poison Path wolves. The rage and anger only increased as he appeared, his harsh words exactly what all those gathered expected. The pregnant female, at least, had no mercy towards those foolish enough to cross her borders. While she had once made the same mistake, she had proven herself smart enough to make it twice, whereas these wolves were obviously not. It was that Indru wanted to postpone the reckoning that made her tilt her head in a momentary state of confusion. But a moment's thought showed the wisdom in his words, and she merely nodded her head, knowing that to those gathered, it was a strong enough affirmation to be followed, however unwillingly.

And it seemed there was some - the urge to ascend the mountain immediately was strong among them. Corinna, despite being close to her due date, would have made the journey herself in a moment of foolishness and rage. But waiting until the cubs were born and the entirety of the pack was involved and ready, that made the most logical sense. It was soothing though to know that her pack mates were willing to come to their aid when asked. "We can use you both, when the time comes," she affirmed, green eyes landing first on Cali and then on Triell. Pausing on her brother, she remembered the last time that he had run across Rhysis, and how he and Ice had returned home wounded. "Naira is pregnant too, remember. Running into Rhysis now won't do any good for anybody." The Poison wolves, despite their apparent stupidity, would no doubt also be on high alert as Naira became heavy with cubs, and no fault could be given to the ebony betrayer for protecting his family.

Attention switching to Ice, the nod of his head indicating his departure, Cori could only watch him leave. He had been rash enough to attack Rhysis once, would he do it again? She hoped not, knowing that the next time the pair met up, she doubted one would leave alive. It was proof of his devotion, but it was terrifying knowing what that devotion meant. Leaning against Indru, she tilted her head into the crook of his neck. Breathing in deep, she took in his scent, overpowering the scent of the stranger. Withdrawing, she took a step back. "Thank you for bringing this to our attention, Marsh, Cali. It will be dealt with, soon enough." The time was drawing near, and with a fleeting smile, the leader withdrew to rest.
