Honijo Ithil
OOC: I'm going to say that Honijo scared Marsh off. Feel free to bring him back in any time, Siki. =)

What is Wisdom?

Honijo was confused, but he would never admit it. The auburn colored male had come towards them as if to circle them, but something, presumably Honijo's menacing posture, scared him off. He darted off into the bushes, with both the large gray and the large white brutes looking after him. The alpha held his stance for a moment longer, wanting to ensure that the strange beast was gone before he slowly relaxed. Black lips covered up his teeth, and his fur, which had bristled up to make him seem bigger, slowly fell back to its normal place. He did not, however, return to his sitting position. He had not become the warrior that he was because he took things like that lightly. Oh no. He would remain on his guard until he was asleep tonight in his own den.

Looking over at Alexander, who seemed completely unbothered by what had just happened, the alpha couldn't help but feel some respect. It wasn't often that he gave away how he was feeling, but times like these, when he felt threatened, instinct took over and he did what he could to defend himself. "Does that sort of thing happen down here often?" he asked, golden eyes focusing in on Alexander. Maybe he had just been removed from the forest for too long.

As the vulture wolf disappeared once more, probably a bit intimidated by Honijo's display, Alexander found himself simply exhaling, while the elder alpha abandoned his aggression. It certainly revealed the situation, as Alexander wasn't sure if he'd be willing to fight the strange wolf it it came to that. It probably wouldn't have gotten quite that intense; two against one wasn't a fair fight, nor a good reason to start one. Most of the tension had been alleviated, but things weren't so casual after that. Alexander sat, while the Alpha stood. Something wasn't quite right, so he rose up as well, out of simple politeness, and perhaps to calm Honijo's nerves a bit.

"Often?" His ears perked up, and he pulled his eyes away from the brush where the wolf had disappeared. "Not to my knowledge. I've met that wolf once before, actually. A bit odd, but I don't think he had any cruel intent." Most wolves usually just approached him head on, willing to speak, and doing so in a not-so-peculiar way. Or he did it to them. The vulture wolf seemed like a rarity.

Honijo Ithil

What is Wisdom?

Maybe he was getting old; though even as he thought about it, Honijo realized that he didn't believe what he was thinking. He was in the prime of his life, and would no doubt continue to live on for many more years in the comfort of his mountain home. Even if it meant he had to live in isolation, he would be okay. He had faith in his own abilities; significantly more faith than he had in the abilities of others. Though, he mused turning his gaze away from the brush to look at the arctic wolf beside him, Alexander seemed like he would be alright company. The younger male had also risen to his feet, though he seemed completely at ease with the events. Honijo was not prone to emotional outbreaks, but he did take concern when random wolves came towards him out nowhere and just as randomly disappeared. "I think a bit odd is an understatement," he responded matter-of-factly.

"It's things like that made me want to get out of the forest. Up on the Plateau, nobody can sneak up on you like that. And the crazy ones aren't willing to make the trek that it takes. It's not for the faint of heart." Just like Honijo would not allow wolves who were faint of heart into his pack, he did not want them exploring near his borders. The Ithil alpha was a create who needed his boundaries; and that was one thing he would not let go into disarray. "Take care when climbing the mountain; it's called Mountain of Dire for a reason." His pearls of wisdom for the day.

Alexander couldn't help but crack a smile at the mountain wolf's comment, "I'm sure we've both seen odder, sir." Laughter arose in the form of small puffs of air, before he settled again. As Honijo went on, Alexander understood why he'd be a bit cautious down here. The mountains were a safe haven, really. "No, definitely not," Alexander spoke with confidence, knowing that he certainly was not faint-of-heart.

"It does sound like the ideal home." His ears pricked forward, and he twisted to get a look at it again. He got a bit dreamy for a moment. No, he hadn't even began to get near to the cold ancient stone that composed the Mountain of Dire, but he was already desperate to call it his home. With another blink and weary sigh, he looked back to Honijo, the momentary lapse of tiredness now gone. "You wouldn't happen to be looking for recruits, sir?" The smile tugged at his muzzle again, though his heart felt as if it was about to jump out of his mouth. He'd decided to drop his cautiousness and just go for it. If the male rejected him, then he'd simply have to work harder.

Honijo Ithil

What is Wisdom?

They hadn't been talking for very long, but somehow Honijo felt comfortable around Alexander, or at least, he wasn't on edge. He had had no other meetings with the white male previously but in just a short amount of time, the Ithil leader knew that he had taken a liking to him. Maybe it was just the other male's personality that Honijo found enjoying, or maybe it was because he seemed to have a decent head on his shoulders. He was not one for emotion, so Honijo would never come right out and say, to a new acquaintance, that he enjoyed his company, but he showed his emotions in other ways.

Such as when Alexander breached the topic of if Honijo was looking for recruits to join Midnight Plateau. It would make things easier, having another around to talk to and participate in the community that was the purpose of a wolf pack. Truth be told, Honi was getting lonely up there by himself, though he would never admit it. "I am always willing to take in new comers, if they would like to join," he answered. "I would be happy to have you as part of Midnight Plateau, if that is what you're seeking."

ickily short. :C I'm sorry.
Obviously, Alexander was more than pleased to hear that Honijo was always looking for new comers. It very quickly whisked away his worries, if there had really been any to begin with. At heart, Alexander was truly a pack wolf. He simply got along with others very well. Any speck of evil within him could easily be over come by a greater good.

"Indeed it is, sir." Alex bowed his head, bright eyes glittering with excitement. "If there's some sort of test I must go through, just tell me." He wasn't sure if there was such a thing in his birth pack, as he'd been born there, but he felt for some reason that such a test of strength or loyalty was necessary.
