Rayne Flint

As Rayne got back on his paws, there was a loud shriek behind him and Eek flew by him in hot pursuit of the goat. His side was a little sore from the tumble as Rayne watched her vainish around a corner after the small prey. This was madness, risking their lives for the simple task of catching a goat! Even Rayne, as kind as he was, had his limits. Especially when it concerned the fact that with one false move could send them tumbling down to their deaths! Yet it seems his kindness still had a little to give so he followed after the crazed female. His conscience would remind him that he had left the woman on a mountain with her state of mind not even close to being sound. What if she died as a result of continually chasing this goat, and it had been possible for him to stop her?

However, as he round the corner, relief surged through him at the sight of the baby at the side of its rightful mother with Eek glaring at them from across the crevice. The choice words Eeek spoke Rayne didn't miss and as she turned, it was even harder to miss the daggers in her eyes. Rayne winced at the growl that was so obviously directed at him, that he failed to notice Eek had become too close to him for it to be comfortable. Taking a few steps back, dangerously close to the edge, Rayne readied himself for whatever Eek was going to do to him. Though he was bigger, he had no idea how the loss of the goat impacted on Eek and her reaction to it was something he wouldn't be expecting.

In his mind, all they had simply just lost a meal and a meal that wasn't even worth the chase.

Eek

She considered going for his throat. A mental movie of that and many other options played through her mind on a continuously innovated loop as she stalked forward. Her strides were relatively slow, controlled as she needed these precious few moments to determine what she would do to punish him. Break his jaw. Slash out his eyes. Push him off the mountain. Carve her anger into his hide. Tear out his claws. Gnaw off his paws and leave him there to die of exposure.

Like a good boy, he stayed in placed, ready to take her lashing. Though he wouldn't let her have what she truly wanted, and Eek was not so blinded by anger nor insanity to fail to notice that. She may be equipped with both ability and experience to take another's life, but to face off against a wolf the size of Rayne, not to mention on this terrain and in such weather, was a risk too great to take. So as she planted herself in front of him, snout nearly mashed against the tip of his, she gathered up all of her self control and exerted it so as not to act violently. Her silver eyes appeared as tainted ice, full of nothing but disgust for the boy directly before them.

"You," she spoke, her voice steady and razor sharp, "are fucking worthless."

She lingered only for a second, her words hanging in the thin mountain air, before turning away from him. Stride quickened, she disappeared once more around the bend of the ledge, determined now to leave him and the goats behind her as fast as possible. To get off this damned mountain.
