Albireo Cygni

Albireo whined, letting his brother clasp his jaws just long enough to signal his submission. Albireo's hind limbs fidgeted and pawed at the ground in display of his discomfort, though he allowed Deneb a solid hold for a few moments before he yanked his face from Deneb's grasp. A faint memory of how things used to be wafted through his mind, recalling days of when he would have gladly let Deneb take the lead without such histrionic displays. A time before the blood between them had soured. 'It's Deneb's fault for all of this,' Albireo's mind grumbled, though he kept these thoughts to himself. This ordeal was just about wrapped up, and he didn't plan on ripping it back open any time soon.

Al kept his head low and rolled his brown eyes up towards Deneb's yellow, apprehension visible in the tension of his crouched limbs. Deneb seemed to be placated for now, but how long it would last Albireo wasn't sure. There was a hope that Deneb's earlier mention of a possibility for forgiveness would hold out if Al just let himself be tugged about like a puppet on a string. No snappy, smug comments came from Al this time, as he waited as patiently as his fidgeting could manage, for orders.

Deneb Cygni
I'm really sorry for taking so long to reply.
This seems like a good place to wrap this up, though?

After a moment it seemed that his message had sunk in, and Deneb released his struggling brother. the smoke and ivory wolf narrowed his eyes, their yellowed fire still sparking at his sibling, and took a couple of steps back the darker wolf's form. There was a testing, probing quality to his gaze, and his tail was still raised stiffly behind him – Den wanted to see if his brother would take orders from him again or not. If not, then he didn't see much use in dragging things out by get Al to do his dirty work around here – or any work at all. Better to end things now. He could start from scratch, though it would be much easier to accomplish things if he could put Albireo to use.

”Come on. We're going hunting,” he grunted, the adrenaline of their brief altercation still seeping through him and bubbling to the surface in his voice. It wasn't a task of much importance, at least in the grand scheme, as far as Deneb was concerned. But together the two of them had the chance of bringing down larger prey than alone, and perhaps that would placate Phineas for the time being. Once the snowy alpha was no longer keeping such a close watch on the Cygni siblings and their productivity, they could turn their efforts to other things.
