It was the middle of the night, and no surprise she could not sleep. Warily she she headed from the den, and into the night. And this time she did not tread near the borders, instead she sought a different place that beckoned her.

A cool breeze, with a hint of snow whispered through the forest, and teased her winter coat. She saw no point in stopping despite the simple warning. If anything she pushed onward, her step quick, ears cupped foward, while her tail remained even with her spine. Snow would soon cover the ground, and she wanted to make sure things were undisturbed before the cold settled in.

She tried her best not to dwell on where she was going, already her throat seemed dry, and her heart ached. She did not follow any trails, only the landmarks she knew would take her where she wanted to go.

It was after several yards did the forest drooped, leading her down into a more level part of land, where there were two large boulders, and several stones. Eyes did not reach the stones though, she halted on the small hillside, tears coating the golden, and blue hues. This was where Prosper, and Theodore now rested.

Grabbing smooth breath of air, her eyes flicked around the humble location. It looked much the same as they had left it. So cautious, as if the very ground she tread upon was fragile, she walked the distance, and halted a foot from where fresh dirt was. It was there she'd sit quietly, trying not to cry, but failing.</blockquote>

It was not the cold of the night that woke the slumbering male - a black statue in the night as he lay on the damp forest floor; rather, the rustling of rotting, brown, red, and orange leaves under traveling paws. Only his eyes followed the distant, ghostly figure as she made her way from the den site. Jayse had said that she didn't often sleep well, but it crossed his mind that she shouldn't be alone in the dark and the cold, at least he didn't want her to be.

The glow of moonlight overhead was reflected in his eyes as they looked for her in the depths of the shadows, and he came to his feet quickly, gently shaking the thin layer of snow that frosted his black and ash-colored body. Muzzle to the ground, the male tracked his companion through the forest and eventually to a hillside, at the foot of which he spotted her. He froze in his tracks - he'd never seen her this way, and the pain that riddled her face was hardly bearable for him to observe. He didn't make a move, not knowing if she'd be upset that he'd followed her, and his voice was muffled by the icy winds as he called to her.

<b>"Jayse..."</b>

Rebecca had slept all day long between two large fallen trees. Now, at nigh, she was traveling through Cedarwood Forest, looking for prey. Fresh trails on the ground took her attention. Two wolves had went here not long time ago. Not thinking what she was doing, Reba started to follow the tracks, nose down, not looking where she was going she nearly collapsed with black male wolf. Hoping that he hadn't noticed her Rebecca backed away to the shadows. Then she noticed another wolf, white female. She looked somehow depressed.

Rebecca sat down. There wasn't much hiding places, her only hope was that the brute hadn't noticed her and that her black coat would hide her in the shadows. Only... She couldn't take her eyes off the brute. His coat was so beatiful... Black, beatiful black, but with silver in it. Silver that looked so nice in the moonlight... Sigh from Rebecca's lips was out before she managed to stop it. Frozing she wished that it wouldn't be heard, she wouldn't be noticed, everything would be okay...

Surprise was not the first notion that came to mind as a sound was heard from the shadows behind him. Nearly as fast as his ears had turned backward did the male spin, coming to face a pair of eyes in the darkness. Furious was hardly a comparison to his reaction to such an intrusion - in the dark of the night, in the cold and as the snow was falling, with Jaysyek in such distress and alone, for all she had known until this moment. And little did Kade know why she had come here, to this seemingly unmarked location while her family slept soundly, untouched by the flakes of snow that fell from the night sky...

There was no hesitation or ill-preparation as he raced forward protectively, silently and with adept agility. He did not know what, or who, he was, quite literally, running into; what he did know was that Jaysyek's scent and his own rage were the only things familiar as three wolves stood in such close proximity, unknowingly. For only a second did he feel as though he shouldn't be here, but the fact was that he was, and the source of everything he had come to endear was vulnerable and within danger's lurking grasp. The light of the moon and the chill of the air was all he required to reach the stranger in what seemed like the blink of an eye, and the black beast lunged for the silhouetted form of the intruder as she stood, cloaked by shadow. His body collided with the female's, whose scent he did not know, in a place where they did not belong...

Rebecca stood quietly, but unfortunately the brute noticed her. Launching towards her, Reba was unable to move, watching quietly, wishing that he would stop. But no, he ran straight on her. Falling to the ground Reba first growled, then quickly jumped up and away from the shadows. She kept her muscles ready to action, head low, not growling anymore, tail on the level of her back. Wacthing the brute she wished taht she wouldn't have to fight.

<b>"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt anything."</b> Reba tried to calm down the situation. Her voice was unsure, she didn't know what she should do. Looking over her shoulder to the female, she lowered her tail even more. Better to her would be if she would never followed those trails. She turned her eyes bac to the male, waiting what he would do. Fear started to crawl in her mind even than she tried to stop it. Showing her fear wouldn't be nothing more than stupid, so Rebecca kept her feelings inside her. Outside only thing you saw was an apologetic and submissive wolf.
She had learned that submission was in most cases better than dominance.

<blockquote>The wind began to pick up, and snow was evident. She slowly let the pain trickle out, when she thought she heard someone say her name. Softly her ears turned back, and she looked in the shadows.  She saw no one, at first. Then there was muffled steps, and two black shadows. She was quick to rise, her ears pressing against her skull, and with her head low she'd approach. Her nostrils tested the air, detecting Kade, and some unknown female which made her lip rise. Once she moved closer it was clear there was a scuffle someone had fallen, and the growl carried to her where she issued one of her own. An apology was made, it hardly mattered to her. She stopped just to the side of Kade, staring down at the blac wolf with a cold stare.

<b>"Sneeking around in the middle of the night is not a sign of good intentions. Tell me why we shouldn't chase you now?"</b> she kept her voice level, but her hair was a wild ridge down her spine, her lip still curled in a small snarl. If anything she was eager to snap just how close the wolf was to her children's graves, and not very far from her home.  She held her patience wondering what her excuse was.

Rebecca started to really get scared. Two wolves, both maybe fast, part of same pack, not happy to see her. Why did she always got in troubles. Tail went between her legs, ears flopped. If she respected something, it was strong females, and the strength and dominance just exuded out of this white female. Lowering her head Reba hoped that she wouldn't have to fight or run.

<b>"I'm here only to hunt, I need to feed myself. I'm not going to do any harm. And if you want to chase, go on, you wouldn't be the first ones." </b>Last sentence Reba said with bitter voice. Maybe because of her poor situational awareness she often got chased. Most of the time she was able to outrun her chasers, but if sometimes happened that she couldn't, she tried to hide. If that didn't work, begging for mercy and leaving those grounds for eternity usually worked. Not something she would enjoy, though. Now she waited to see what would happen, fear growing and filling her body as she struggled to keep away from her muscles. If it got there, she always frozed.

<b>"Run."</b>

The tone of his voice was cold flat as the male warned the trespasser. There wasn't an excuse the stranger could make to reverse the circumstance of the situation, in his mind. The image of a violent end flashed through his thoughts, and he knew that the female's fate now was not to be decided by him, but by the female who stood beside him. He wanted to glance at her - to see what the look on her face had to say - but his aggressive gaze would not shift as he stared the loner down. Hunting in the middle of the night, alone? Surely not. At the moment he was hardly interested in her reason for being, obviously, in the wrong place at the wrong time; more interesting was what was weighing on Jaysyek's mind, which was now surely riddled with uncertainties, had it not already been before having to deal with this.

<blockquote>She let the girl speak, but it didn't add up to her either. There was was something that bothered Jayse about the encounter, whether it was her instincts trying to warn her, or her past mood she couldn't tell. What she did know she didn't like her creeping around in the dark. The only reason she did not snap because the girl least been smart enough to stay down. Kade's warning was much what she wanted to say, but she waited a moment, eyeing the girl with a hard stare. <b>"Trying to hide makes me doubtful of your word. Leave. You've no business being here. There is plenty of land to hunt else where."</b> A low threatening growl bubbled in her throat, and she snapped her jaw inches only a hair from the girl's nose. Then she stood back beside Kade so she could take her leave. </blockquote>

Like always, the wolves told Reba to leave. Like alwasy, she refused. She was her own master, only she could tell herself what to do. And she wasn't telling herself to leave, no way. Standing higher, but keeping her tail low she expelled the fear and thought about her mom. What would she do in this situation? Well, probably she would be wise enough to leave, but if not? Then she would fight. But Reba wasn't as strong as her mom who could take down bear alone. She was fast, so maybe testing those wolves speed and stamina would be better.

Letting the stubborn look rise in her eyes Rebecca stood still. She didn't care about the warning growl or snapping in front of her nose. Tails still down she lifted her head. <b>"You need to chase me away."</b> Lowering her head she growled lowly. Thinking about the coming chase she stiffened her muscles ready to launch her away. Cheerful, puppy kind happines filled her mind. Soon someone would point their attention only to her. Wagging her tail fastly she lifted it above her back. Then all of sudden the seriosity of the moment got forgotten in Reba's mind and she started to act more like playful pup, tail wagging like crazy, jumping in front of the too waiting the chase to begin. Braking to small shower of quiet puppy barks.
