Triell Tainn
If I go crazy then will you stillcall me superman?

A rushed sigh fled from his lips, and was whisked away from the blowing wind. He was not sure what to do with his time. He was fed, he was not tired, and he had caught a few fish last night to tuck away in the pack's cache. He did not know what to do with himself. It was hot of coarse, and he was at the edge of the river, just peering into the rushing water if time was not a matter. It was. It had been too long since he had seen Volkan, and he missed her greatly. He also felt the time and distance starting to take it's toll. They couldn't always just pick up where they had left off. He was for certain they could only rebound so many times. Couldn't love only repair so much? He debated the idea back and forth knowing how much Indru and Corinna had been through and how they were still together. Wasn't there always a weak spot, one little thing to shatter the whole picture? What would it be for him and Volkan? How they were not together day by day? Or would it only instill what they had? Many questions as he had, there was never a suitable answer. Love would grow strong or it would grow weak. Which one he did not know. It was what scared him.

He rose from his seat, and started pacing along the banks like a hunter stalking it's prey. He wanted to look like he was doing something productive instead of brooding. He wasn't sure if he wanted to talk because he was afraid what might come of it. Who he really wanted to talk to was missing. Kinis. Holding back the sorrow, the tips of his ears bent, and his lips drooped into a frown. He had not found any trace of his lost litter mate, and well knew no one else had either. No one who knew him. Triell tried to fight the grief, thinking him dead. It was not something Kinis deserved. Triell wanted to see him again, see life within his eyes, and the mischievous grin on his face. He wanted to make him laugh, and tease him. He wanted them to go swimming again. It seemed impossible. What was worse, it wasn't like they knew for sure what had happened to him or where his body was. He closed his eyes, wishing he had had some closure, something to keep him together instead of in pieces.

Hope you don't mind adding "Ice" onto Torla and Cali. <3 Playing this as before Ice went up to Lost Lake. :]

you do not know who is your friend
or who is your enemy
until the   ICE breaks.
Ice was, as usual, just ambling along, and waiting for something to happen. A lot of the time he walked around with no clear goal in mind, or lay in the sun, lapping up sunlight and dreaming about playing in winter. Traditionally, winter was a season of sleep and conserving energy, walking single file and hunting across frozen lakes, but as a wolf who came from very far north, winter was so much more - you couldn't do a wolf's equivalent of hibernation from October to May, but had it only in the deep of winter, when the snows were the thickets and the nights the coldest. In the days of spring, when the air was relatively warm and the sun bright, it was a time of play, gallivanting through pristine fields and wrestling in the snow, huddling together and singing to cold stars and sky fires, warm bodies pressed close and breaths steaming into the dark winter skies... It brought so many memories, so much more than just waiting for spring - it brought so many expectations... But did these relatively southern wolves know how to play in the snow, or did they see it only as a reckless waste of energy? Only time would tell, for after all, last winter he'd been much too shy to force his habits onto the pack, but now he felt secure; at home. Perhaps he could goad Fenru into some hearty, carefree play, or even teach the three young pups how to wrestle in the snow without tripping yourself...

Or cheer up Mister Gloomface there.

His ambling had taken him straight to Triell, who paced the border of the river with a look that screamed I am brooding. Ice knew the black male well enough to know that that expression and body posture wasn't his normal one, and his white head tilted to the side, ears forward, tail trying to bend itself into a question mark. What was wrong now? Surely he wasn't fretting about killing Rhysis, or remembering his burnt home, Hidden Tree. At least, Ice hoped he wasn't. There was no point in dreaming about a black throat in your jaws and warm blood rushing across your tongue if said warm blood was still in the black throat, and the black throat was miles away, up in a mountain range by an aptly named lost lake. Ice sighed quietly, and drifted easily across the ground. He head no qualms about standing near the river now, but preferred to not go into it, no matter the time of the year. "Hey," he woofed as greeting, not wanting to startle Triell and make him jump into the River... like he nearly had succeeded in the first time they met alone, up by the Creek. The thought twisted his face into a slight grin, and he crept up beside Triell, giving his shoulder a nudge. "Stop brooding, Tri, or you'll turn into a thundercloud."

of coarse not :D

If I go crazy then will you stillcall me superman?

The song of the river called to him as if trying to keep him here, his thoughts on nothing but it's sound. He listened for a time, but he knew it by heart. An annoyed sigh, at no one but himself, fled his lips and he shifted his weight from foot to foot. He couldn't shake the feeling of being worthless. He could think of nothing to do, nothing to entertain his mind. He hated to wander too far these days, he was afraid what he might do. He had promised himself not to do anything bold, and stupid for the sake of his loved ones. He was worried about something else, what would happen if he left Swift River? The last time Corinna had been forced to protect and feed the pups alone and he could not help the thought of something else happening to Indru. Shutting his eyes, his dark banner twitched behind him, he tried to lock away his fears in the back of his mind. He was here now, and everything would work itself out wouldn't it?

The familiar woof broke him from his dim thoughts, and he stretched his neck to see Ice's pale form prowling closer. He was not sure why his friend looked a bit amused, and his eyes reflected the questions. What had Ice in a good mood, because it surely could not be the sight of him. A half wrinkled face in bemusement he accepted the shoulder bump, and half laughed at his statement. A thundercloud. If only someone had told him that when he was a pup, then he would have believed it, maybe even thought about it coming true even now. "Are you sure I am not already? I am as dark as they come," and a broad smile stretched against his black muzzle at his own cleverness. He chuckled, and bumped the silver shoulder of his friend back. "Hmm?" He questioned to tease a quick answer instead of a thoughtful ponder. The Tainn was soon bowing into a playful stance, his tail wagging high above his raised haunches. Once he let out a bark of invite, then he was jumping with an outstretched mouth at Ice.

Well, and why should he not be happy to see Triell, even if he was brooding himself to death? The black-furred Tainn was one of the first Ice had come close to, one of the first who made him feel comfortable being who he was, even in Swift River. Indru was scary because he was Alpha, and Corinna.. well, that first awful meeting in the Wildwood... He could've groaned aloud at the memory, and his awkward social interaction, shoving his muzzle into the carpet of semi-frozen leaves at her feet. Well, hadn't that just been stellar! But then there'd been Triell, black and brooding by a river, missing his uncle and friends, Kinis and Volkan... who said it was okay if he was a bit crazy and spaced out at odd times, who tried to teach him how to fish but just got him wet all over (well, that had been Ice's fault, stumbling headfirst into the creek). Even if Tri seemed ready to drown in the river from all his heavy thoughts, Ice liked him, and was utterly, naively confident that he could cheer him up.

"Every cloud has a silver lining!" he shot back with unhidden poetic pride, feeling very clever with having thought up such a smart retort in the first place. His grin turned quite lopsided as he caught himself from toppling over at Tri's bump, tail waving behind his hind end; he didn't have the time to initiate anything, though, because the black fringes on Triell's forelegs and chest were already teasing the ground. With a bark of laughter, Ice fell into a similar stance, high tail wagging as he nearly hopped on the spot, claws kneading the riverbank for purchase.

And then the game was on. Triell hopped forward with open jaws, and Ice gave a high-pitched yip and charged right back. The black mouth closed around the thick fur on the side of his neck, and he just couldn't keep himself from blurting out, "Ooh, lightning strikes!" before diving headfirst towards Triell's head. There was only playfulness in him as he snapped for his ears of scruff, tail wagging as claws and paws rattled around for balance. He didn't want his pack brother to toss him into the river, so he kept his hind legs braced for any sudden push, while his intention was quite obviously to somehow, in any angle possible, gain hold of Triell's neck and push it down.

"You must be mine than," he countered back with a proud grin, and another twist of his tail. He was jesting easily with the River wolf, his words were true. Kinis had been the one to draw him out of these modes, it was Ice who had been able to help remedy them as well. It was not exactly the same, but that's waht made it worked. Ice was not taking the place, but merely being another "shoulder" to rely on. A spar, a game was all he needed to be transformed into black ball of play instead of sorrow. Now, he came to think about he had never quite wrestled Ice before and was sure he was in for an interesting game. He looked forward to it. He had no idea what to expect, and it was a thrill that made his tail quicken in anticipation. Would Ice play? Surely, it was in the silver wolf and it was not if Triell was a little pup. The Tainn looked as it for a new lesson, what there was he did not know, because Indru and Marsh were still full of their tricks.

He thought maybe Ice would not by the sound that echoed from the snow wolf's throat. Ice was moving forward, and it all became a silver blur of motion. His teeth and mouth became full of fluffy fur. A growl dropped in his throat, and he playfully tugged at the fringe. Only to find his own was being held onto, and he titled his head to test the girp. It was steady, and heavy, pushing downward. He let out a muffled half bark (whatever he could do while holding onto Ice) while at the same time (hoping is bark to be a small distraction), he lifted a paw to push, further try to break free while hanging onto his sparring partner.

He doubted to be successful, and tried to prepare himself for a harder tug, or his nose brushing the ground. Maybe then he would attempt to jerk his head. Until then he dug his hind legs into the grass, trying to keep his balance against the tussle of equal if not larger mass at the end of his teeth.

He came to the conclusion that he wouldn't mind being Triell's silver lining. After all, it worked not only in the metaphorical sense, but in the physical as well; his silver body wound itself around Triell's black, hints of the other showing like a corona, depending on which side you viewed it from. Perhaps, then, Triell was Ice's darkness - but that didn't really work, did it? After all, when Triell was dark and angry, Ice remained calm.. but maybe that was the point? Maybe it did work both ways? The thought hurt his head by trying to turn it inside out, and with a slight shrug he stopped thinking about it. If he was too busy trying to be philosophical, well, he might miss a move Tri did and end up on his ass in the river! And that, my friends, would be very unpleasant for Ice.

Triell was mock-growling and tugging at the side of his scruff, and an answering thunder rumble struck up in Ice's broad chest. It thrummed through his blood and body, vibrating, comforting, lips hiding his teeth even as they locked onto a black scruff. Hair filled his mouth, and he felt Triell push against his grip without releasing his own, effectively holding the silver Guardian just below the ear. Then all of a sudden Triell was pushing a paw against his chest, and the queerest of sensations - obviously, his pack mate was trying to break free, but hold on at the same time. Laughter lined his growl as he held on, playfully tugging at his neck. Every movement he did was mirrored through the jaws on his own neck, and he had the notion that they could end up standing there forever if neither got away. Still, Ice wouldn't roll over just because he was too lazy to "fight" for the rest of his life, so instead he tried to unceremoniously pile himself on top of Triell's head and fling one foreleg across his shoulders. Either he would be able to keep his own grip and force himself free from Triell's, or the black jaws on his neck would keep him from climbing on top of his pack mate.

If I go crazy then will you stillcall me superman?

Ice was a neutral wolf, family but not tied deeply in the politics and happening of the past. There was no prejudice, or own feeling tied into the history except what had passed between himself, and Triell. It all combined was what made Ice a great friend, and confidant. Someone to confide his inner doubts he had not been able to entrust in Indru, because his brother had enough to worry about. What had made Triell even decide was the trust, and bond that had grown between them, the fact Ice could handle it. Whether because he was strong enough to carry the secrets of Triell's darkness, or they did not weigh on him as they would another. The Tainn would be far more lost with out the other in these times of troubled questioned.

Rumble that built in Ice's chest he could almost feel hitting his own. If they were not friend he would be worried about this wrestle. It were he wasn't, but definitely not certain how this would pan out. The pale man tugged, and it was enough Triell could feel his own grip loosen. It would become nothing but empty air and slobber when Ice rose above him. Letting out a light grunt against this change of circumstance, he turned his head trying to grab at Ice's elbow, or rib cage while turning his hindquarters around. Try to stay on now, he thought with a smirk, though his movements were not anything fluid nor fast.

Ice would never forget the first time he met Triell. Already back then the wolf had been brooding, sitting by a creek, and had nearly fallen on his nose in it when Ice showed up. The fishing lesson had been disaster, but it had been good bonding all the same, curling up together in a bush to try and sleep off the cold (since Ice had pretty much ducked under the surface, he'd been quite wet). That time when they kicked Rhysis' ass at the Fireweed Rise had further cemented their friendship, and here they were, tugging at each other like rowdy brothers, romping pups. Grinning around his mouthful of black fur, Ice silently declared it a victory when Triell let go of his scruff.

Not that he'd let him have his victory in peace, no... Desperately the white wolf hung onto his friend as he moved, trying to stagger around with him. It worked, at least mostly, except that Triell for some reason grabbed hold of his left forearm, holding it in his jaws. Fortunately, this wasn't about breaking bones, or he would've been shit out of luck, but it was annoying enough all the same. Growling around the thick fur he tried to stay perpendicular, giving his neck a couple of hard tugs before taking half a step forward, balancing on his right fore, and placed his hind paws in under his belly. Grunting, he tensed, coiled his muscles and then unleashed their pent-up force, trying to spring forward and push Triell over.

Dancing the strangest dance he ever had, his steps help to make Ice work harder, the grip of his teeth trying to keep his paw from moving. If the silver wolf fought to hard, Triell would release it. There was no point in hurting his friend in a playful tussle. They surely needed him, and Triell though with a bit of want to win, doubted he would be claimed victor. He could try.

A chuckle broke from his lips, muffled by the stiff bone covered in flesh, tendons, skin, and fur. Was Ice growing impatient? Triell wished only to ask, but thought it may be his way of getting the young man to do just that. These thoughts entered his mind at the wrong time, when he felt the curl of of Ice beneath him, he had only let go of the pale arm. It was too late to really move away from the force beneath him, knocking into his chest, and rolling him onto his back. He let out a woof, as his thick back thudded a top the thick grassy carpet. It did not hurt, but this was not where he wanted to be. He took note of his mistake though, and tucked his chin to his neck. His dark ears whipping back against his head, while his orange tinted yellow orbs sought Ice so Triell may decide his next move.

Triell was laughing at him. For a moment, Ice's pale ears got lost, flat against his skull, as that younger-brother childish part of him piped up and said it was rude. But then, his massive shoulders just gave a shrug. It was all in play and merriment, so why be bothered? His ears came up again, coupled with the drive to really push Triell into the ground - playfully, of course, but is there not determination in play as well? He got to put his natural weight to good use, too, as he slammed into Triell.. catching his chest and somehow upending him. The black scruff left his mouth easily as he loosened his jaws, letting out a bark of laughter even as he sprang across the black wolf. Victory! Paws planted firmly across his body, front ones on either side of his head, the hind ones somewhere else (it was irrelevant, as long as he wasn't standing on Triell), he let out a short song of victory. He had bested Triell! .. which wasn't all that strange, considering that Ice was older. They were of a size, though, snow and shadow.

Behind him his tail was flagging dominance, and with a huge grin he leaned down to give Triell's dark muzzle a playful lick, before nudging his cheek. "I won, eh?" he asked, smiling merrily, before stepping off to allow the black wolf to get up again. Time was passing so fast... It was soon autumn, soon cold again; Triell had been physically mature when they first met, just like most of the kids had been, and yet he couldn't help but think that they were larger now. As if they'd somehow grown in his mind, as well as in his heart, though Fenru would forever remain the size of a pup in his imagination. Grinning, Ice padded off a few steps, staring into the river waters. Good thing none of them had been thrown in. Light rippled along the liquid surface, masking the dark secrets underneath. Behind him his tail kept waving gently in the wind, and without looking at Triell, he began to talk. "You know," he slowly began, reaching out with one paw to disturb the smooth surface. A shiver traveled down his spine. "Do you sometimes wish the world was black and white, and that colors rubbed off? That if one wolf in a pack was bad, that he'd be wholly rotten, and the entire pack would be black, too? Do you sometimes wonder... if maybe what you're doing is wrong?" Still he did not look towards the black male.

Perhaps some small, silly part of him was hoping that Triell would pounce him and dunk his head in the river.
