All Welcome :3

It wasn't like she had anything better to do than aimlessly wander and hope to get to know her new Canadian home. It was nothing like her old home. This was much bigger with vegetation that varied greatly. It would take her a while to get used to it all, but at least Amélie's lust for adventure left no room for feeling homesick. She was onto bigger and better things, therefor there wasn't a need to sit and sulk! Instead she took advantage, greedily stealing every moment to discover something new and beautiful. With every stride, she hoped to discover a new piece of herself, too. This left her thrilled and optimistic about the future. There was no mountain too tall, because as cliché as it all sounds, the world really was hers for the taking.

Paw after paw, Amélie found herself farther up the falls. Where was she going? Who knew, because she certainly didn't. This place was full of surprises, and she could just smell something interesting just around the corner. Fortunately, her intuition did not let her down, for soon enough the snow-pelted girl found an oasis that was very much to her liking. With a few more steps and a content smile, Amélie began to explore the Hidden Grotto.

ugh. super long. ;>> hope you don't mind if Alexander joins in?

Alexander loved the sound of rushing water. Hell, even the look of it was beautiful. A little oasis between a thriving forest, and an endless mountain. He'd spared his pelt the wetness today, keeping to the edge of the pool, dipping his paws in every so often, and taking in a drink. A long while had passed since he'd gotten here, and he took a moment to run his pale yellow eyes over the falls themselves. In his mind played images of mystical lands behind the watery curtain, where wolves could fly and...Well, who needed more than that? They were silly thoughts, of course, wolves with wings, hah. But there was always the possibility of something behind the waterfall that lacked any sort of magical quality. Sure, it was a bit less interesting, but it was certainly something, wasn't it?

Rising up, he didn't once take his eyes off the cascade, circling around, until he was looking at it from the side. What was the worst that could happen if he went to investigate? He'd get wet. It wasn't as if he was afraid to see what was behind there, but it didn't hurt to weigh one's options. And he chose the "go" option. A smile slowly spread over his muzzle as he approached the falls, and, voila, there was something far better than a sheet of solid rock behind the water.

There were wet paw prints trailing up the small stone path, which only served to raise Alexander's curiosity even more. Carefully avoiding the "splash zone", and the edge nearest to the falls, he carefully began the ascent, allowing his nose the occasional sniff, to see if he could identify the wolf. It was highly unlikely, since he was new around here. So, perhaps he'd make a new friend today. Hopefully. There was an urge to speak up, perhaps warn the wolf ahead of him that he was following behind, but the roaring of the falls would, no doubt, drown out his voice. They'd both be surprised.

The path hadn't been as long as he'd originally though, and he reached the "mystical land" rather quickly. It was an interesting place, undeniably lovely, and, perhaps if such things existed, winged wolves would have found their home in this small grotto. He allowed his eyes to take in as much as he could, temporarily forgetting the wet paw prints he'd seen on his way up...

Not at all. Thank you for joining!

Not very long after arriving did the silky haired girl see another wolf, seemingly equally as curious, enter the premises. He was rather massive, looming over her in size if she ever stood beside him. This left her staring at him for a little longer than she would have liked to. He was like a massive gray airplane with a powdered face. Being the Devaux that she was, however, she did not feel at all intimidated.

Snapping out of her trance, the Mademoiselle chirped a soft hello, as to not startle the stranger. "Bonjour, Monsieur." she said with a step back and a slide on to her haunches. "You found this secret place, too, I see." She casually commented with an immutable smile.

There was a ruction in his stare, and that's what he remembered the paw prints. He turned, suddenly very surprised. Alexander occasionally forgot how large he really was, although it hadn't been long since he'd been around others, so having to look down, well...He almost felt like he was being rude. So, he sat, which only made things worse, but he was left with no real choice but to stay where he was.

"Oh! French. Uhm, bonjour," He nodded his head politely, feeling the heat rush to his face. He knew one or two words of the language, and feared for a moment that she would continue on in it, leaving him struggling to keep up and leading to further embarrassment. He was definitely overreacting internally, on the outside, however, he still looked surprised. "I did. It's, uh, uh, bon gout." He offered her his own smile, and his name, "I'm Alexander Dieudonné." He couldn't bear to look down on her much longer, and quickly rose up to look around a bit more, hoping it wouldn't seem too unnatural. They had just discovered this place, so...Why not investigate it together? It was much easier, anyway, to look at her over his shoulder. He didn't feel so out of place that way, although he was beginning to regret moving to begin with.

"Excuse me...I just, I just feel awful for towering over you." He couldn't contain himself, and turned around again, sighing. "But...It's, well, obviously, no matter how I shape myself, I'll only manage to make myself look more silly." Alexander attempted a chuckle, and shook his head in slight shame.

Amé didn't expect to be greeted in French, but was delighted to come across it. A smile hit her lips as he nervously struggled, but did a well enough job. "Hello Alexander, I'm pleased to meet you." she replied in return, her thick French accent very prominent. Alexander began to look a little uncomfortable then, although Amé wasn't quite sure why. Fortunately for her, it only took the large male to turn away from her and ''explore' for him to explain what was wrong. Apparently he felt a bit bad for hovering over her. This sent the girl rolling over mounds of laughter. How silly! "Oh, but, monseiur, it is not your fault I am small! The same as it is not my fault you are tall. Stand with pride, monsieur, tall men are handsome." Her intention was not to flirt, she was just pointing out a known fact.

"I do not think you look silly," she admitted, her soft smile still hanging. "It is a gift to be tall and strong. At least I think so. It guarantees success in this life of ours." He was a very lucky wolf.

Perhaps he'd been a bit too hasty. Honestly, he wasn't even sure what had come over him upon meeting this girl. Perhaps it was the French that threw him off. That had to be it. He'd become so flustered in that short amount of time, worried that he'd say the wrong thing or that he would say nothing at all, that he'd lost control. So, now he had to regain it. He slid onto his great grey haunches, and sucked in a great breath. "Why thank you," The complement caught him by surprise, but it certainly helped to quell his bumbling.

"That's certainly true..." In his life, he'd been in a few fights, and being the bigger male, he usually came out the victor. Other than that, he hadn't really found a necessity for being so large. Of course, there wasn't really a downside. At least one that he'd been faced with. "I'm sure there are things to gain from being petite as well. You are rather pretty, not to say that you beguile." He caught his breath again and let it out. So close, yet so far. At least he'd been honest. That was something he was good at. "Speed, agility, you know..."

"You're welcome." Amé simply sat, her soft eyes gazing up at the large Mackenzie Valley wolf. He seemed more at ease now. Perhaps her words had soothed him some? She hoped so! As the conversation proceeded, Alexander broached his thoughts about Amélie's looks. As a result, a soft smile swept across her facade, and she nodded as though agreeing not to take his words as enchantment. "Thank you." she said, accepting his compliment. As for something good abot being petite..."Hmm..I fit in small places?" she joked, laughing out-loud. "Just kidding. What you mentioned are definitely some advantages. I'm perfectly happy with my size and accepting of it." she admitting, shrugging her shoulders.

"So where are you from Alex? Do you belong to a pack or are you a loner like me?" she asked him curiously, shifting about as she tried to make herself comfortable.

Still sitting among the puddles and stones, Alexander rolled his shoulders in a shrug at her question. In a way, he was still part of a pack, but at this point in time, it probably would be the best idea to just...pretend he wasn't. It hadn't necessarily been his own choice to depart his birth pack, and somewhere within his heart, he still longed to return, but due to his age, he felt that it had happened for a reason...Well, another reason.

"Quite alone, miss." Alexander decided, and chuckled, pleased to find that he felt no negative emotions towards saying such words. He would miss his family, but...It simply had to happen. He twisted away from her again, looking around the Lagoon. "Perhaps I could escort you around this pretty place, miss? There might be a meal in it for the both of us." The puddle he currently sat in was rather shallow, but it seemed to expand a bit as you traveled away. Surely something lived here that was edible.

So Alexander was a loner as well it seemed. Nodding in respect to this, mild curiosity struck the girl, wondering why he was laughing. It was quickly swept away though, for he proceeded to offer her a tour of their surroundings and possibly a meal. "Yes, thank you. That would be wonderful." Amélie got onto her paws, and then waited for Alexander to begin leading the way. "So how long have you been living at Relic Lore?" she asked him casually, both interested and trying to make conversation.

"Excellent," He exclaimed with a grin. He rose up instantly, and hopped up onto the flat of a rock, making his way a slowly as he could along the edge of the grotto. He had longer legs than she, and didn't really want to leave her in the dust. It would have been rude. "Oh, it's only been a few days, really." Alex sniffed, slowing down so he could walk along side her. "How about--" He was interrupted as his paw slipped nearly sending him into the shallow pool. Thankfully he swiftly recovered, feeling that his ego was a bit more damaged than his leg. "Heh...You?"
