Navar Notie
There was nothing but a plain expanse of land before her paws.<i>Well this place looks hella boring.."</i> she snapped inside her head. Navar was wary from her recent travels, but there was a pressing feeling insider her gut that kept her from resting when she laid down to sleep. The ground before her was still slightly green but with the winter months upon them it was no longer growing. Observing through dark golden colored eyes she scanned the area for any sign of life. A few birds in the distance, a rabbit retreating back into the cover of it's den off to the right. Had she not just eaten recently she would have found entertainment in catching the little fella. The wind caused her tan tinged fur to bristle and a chill to run along her spine. She was by nature a reserved wolf without much to say. However, the loneliness that was accompanied only by the howling of the wind was creating a stir crazy effect inside of her mind.

It was times like these when her long forgotten thoughts started to leak into her brain like a submarine cabin under pressure. Just a reminder that no matter how hard to try to forget something it's always etched in the back of your mind. Just waiting for a dull moment to crawl forward and show its hideous face. The wolf snarled to herself, white teeth flashing in a moment of anger. The fae couldn't take it anymore. She had to find out where she was going. What she was doing. How she was going to get there. Searching only herself for the past four months had left her desperate. Navar didn't have the answers.

With a hateful toss of her head she drew backwards and emitted a yell, soon followed by a rough howl. It had been months, a year since she uttered such a sound. <b>"DAMMIT, is there anyone out here?!"</b> she she fell silent. Her breaths escaping in heavy billows of smokey air.

The ivory male gripped the morsel of flesh in his jaws tighter as a howl ripped across the flat lands. His paw falls hesitated slightly as his fiery eyes preened up, glaring out across the expansive territory. The grass and deadened red flowers crunched softly beneath his steps, though he paid little mind to such a thing. Instead, he debated to return home with the small pheasant he had caugt and offer it to the pack cache.. Or determine what had made such a beast bellow so loudly across the terrains.

Curiosity won, despite the pale Argyris' stoical persona, and trailing back closer to the heart of the neutral grounds, the male soon came upon the stranger. He had missed her presence by mere moments before, and blinking at her, the ivory wolf gimgerly placed the dead bird at is paws, his gaze trained upon the she-wolf who had just shouted at the heavens only moments ago asking where everyone was. His eyes were questioning, but it did not slip to his tainted black lips, waiting to see her reaction.

Navar Notie
It took her a moment to come to her senses and when she did a sudden burn of embarrassment trickled down her neck. Navar was not one to say much, and what she had done was unprecendented. A little part of her hoped that no one heard the haunting bellow that had just escaped her. She slammed her eyes shut wishing that for a moment this would all go away. The heartache. The confusion. The anxiety. Her normally filled out body was once more starting to shink under her coat. The female possessed a <span class='word'>svelte</span> figure nowadays. The main factor that made her presentable was her beautiful fur. Winter was nearly upon them and it was growing thicker and more white with each passing week cloaking her thin body.

It wasn't until a few moments passed that she even noticed the male that approached her. He too was white, more white than she even. Golden eyes watched as he laid the kill at his feet and looked up at her. He didn't appear to be hostile or threatening, but her cheeks burned with embarrassment. Seconds passed and the male stared at her, not saying a word. Confusion started to set in and she started breathing a little heavier. Navar guessed that the wolf probably thought her to be a loon.. and she didn't really blame him.<b>"Well.. I guess there is someone out here.."</b> she said softly, not knowing what else to say. She didn't trust the quiet wolves. They were usually the ones who ended up gnawing on her back.

They stood, allowing moments of silence to stretch between them as they studied one another. Phineas noted the light of the she-wolf’s pelt and the way it clung to her thinning figure. The life of a lone wolf was a harsh one, and it seemed the she-wolf before him was battling such a lifestyle.

Finally, she broke the quiet. The gentle murmur of her voice stirred Phineas’ ears forward, and at her words, the male allowed a small smirk to twitch at the corners of his tainted lips, amusement surpassing his fiery orange eyes. She seemed embarrassed at the outburst she had, and had he been more mischievous or even one who reveled in the tease of women, the Argyris male would have commented on this. He was neither – a quiet noble, the male finally bowed his muzzle in silent greeting to the loner, his tail swaying gently behind him.

“Phineas Argyris of Willow Ridge,” he introduced simply, his voice rumbling out after he cleared his throat. His eyes studied her quietly – she was a pretty thing with sparse bits of cinnamon and warm hues that frosted her pelt, unlike his own pure alabaster coat that was tainted with bits of ebony and silver along his spinal.

Navar Notie
Navar watched his eyes as they passed over her figure and even though she was thinning and her stomach had not been full in days, she wasn't ashamed. It wasn't very often that she had a run in with pack wolves. Not many times other than when her crew was being pushed back to the borders or secretly stowing away with a cashe of food. She too looked over him, her eyes catching on the silver hairs within his ivory fur. He was very impressive and blinking a few times she turned her golden eyes back to his, her ears swiveling forward as he spoke. His tone was deep and calm, it burrowed into her ears and made her fur stand on end slightly. She expected him to make fun of her, but instead he introduced himself, along with what she assumed was the name of the reigning pack.

She watched as a small smile lifted his mouth at the corners, which in turn caused her to smile as well. She fought back the urge to let it spread across her face completely.

<b>"I'm Navar. Navar Notie,"</b> she paused, including a small trickle of a laugh with her following words.<b>"Of.. nowhere near here."</b> she said, her ears nearly laying flat against her head instinctively accompanied by a sheepish grin.

Her introduction was far less enchanting than his and all she could think to do was follow his gesture and slightly bow her own muzzle in return. The female had to admit that she was happy she ran into this wolf, seeing as he was clearly part of a pack. She didn't want to be bothersome with extensive questions, but it seemed that he was proving himself nice enough to hold a conversation. The scent of the dead pheasant tickled her nose and she adverted her eyes off to the right, but she was unable to keep them away, and she caught sight of his own orange ones to her dismay.

<b>"It's nice to meet you, Phineas.."</b>

“What direction is ‘nowhere near here’ from Relic Lore?” His tone was inquisitive – polite, even as he questioned the she-wolf of her whereabouts. After all, he was not native to the valley either – perhaps they had come from around the same area. At her introduction, the ivory male dipped his muzzle slightly, his gaze fixating upon the girl’s cheek so as to not challenge her or make her feel uncomfortable. Not that he felt she was in any shape to take him on. Willow Ridge had been kind to him, and in turn, he had bulked up from his days spent as a lone wolf as well.

“Pleasure is mine,” he assured the golden she-wolf, noting the way her eyes seemed to flicker in the direction of his pheasant. Had the meal been for him the wolf might not have thought anything of it to offer the female a share – but it was for his pack, and he did not imagine Koda or Elettra would take kindly to one of their members feeding the rogues of the valley rather than one of their own.

While he noted the time of day and that he should be returning – after all, the pack had its share of members and Elettra had already turned one male away, who was to say she wouldn’t replace him with another should his presence not be strong enough within their ranks – the pale wolf held back dismissing himself for now, allotting a moment for what he hoped would be pleasant conversation from a rather pretty female.

Navar Notie
Navar felt her initial embarrassment fading into the wind as she spoke with him. His quiet and curious nature making her feel a little better a midst the lonesome path she had come traveling minutes before. Her tail hung in a loose fashion and by taking one last soft breath she felt tension release. The white male had asked her from which she came and she looked away from him, beyond the edge of the field.

<b>"I'm from the eastern parts of Canada. No where specifically.."</b> she said. As generic as it sounded it was the truth. A wanderer with little to call her own. Turning her gaze back to him, she managed not to keep eye contact.<b>"I suppose this is Relic Lore? Do you hail from here?"</b> she asked, her brow furrowing a bit in question.

At least now she knew the name of the lands she had been traveling for months. Relic Lore. It had a nice ring to it. What she liked most is that it was so far from the place from which she had come. The lady was yet to run into anyone that she remotely knew, and besides a few conversations with passing wolves, she had not learned much about her surroundings. A brisk chill swept the air between them and she watched as the air from her nose turned to light wisps that were only to be carried away. It was times like these when she missed the warmth of a den heated by the bodies of many. Curious and headstrong as she was she would press on until she found where she wanted to settle.

Before he had the chance to answer her she spoke again briefly,<b>"I hope I'm not keeping you from whatever business you were attending to."</b> Her conversation skills were a bit rusty and slightly off kilter at the moment. Wandering alone often entailed the need for conversation. Had she not been alone for such a long amount of time she wouldn't be speaking so hastily.

Phineas Argyris
Phineas withheld the quirk of a wolfish eyebrow at her statement – she seemed reluctant to speak of her birth pack or what area she came from, and the ivory wolf allowed the topic to shift in his direction. Offering a soft shake of his muzzle, the Argyris male allowed his shoulders to lift in a slight shrug, realizing that discussing Asphodel Meadows still left a bitter taste in his mouth and twinged at his heart. “No, I just came upon Relic Lore at the end of Autumn,” he murmured in response, not dwelling on his homelands either. After all, if she was unwilling to share, why would he bore her with his own past?

His nose lifted to the air as the winter wind drifted past the two wolves – his fiery eyes fell upon the bristle of her golden and ivory pelt, given his new status of being single, he found himself rather enjoying the petite beauty before him. She seemed a gentle soul, and with that Phineas took warning – it seemed it was always the quiet and kind ones that were the most deceitful. His ex-mate had been, at least.

His eyes stole down to the meal he kept somewhat guarded, the twitch of a smirk slipping to his usual stoical features. “This is for the cache at home,” he noted, his eyes lifting once more to regard the lone wolf. “I joined a pack called Willow Ridge when I came upon this valley.”

Much to the females surprise conversation passed freely between the two of them. For this she was thankful. It seemed as if this wolf was also reluctant to speak of his past, but she couldn't blame him. However the mention of his recent discovery of Relic Lore made her feel a bit better. Disclosing the information that he was rather new to the area Navar was surprised to hear that he was returning this catch back to the cache.. at home. At the mention of a pack her ears stood alert and she fully trained her eyes on him.

"A pack?" she questioned curiously, her amber eyes widening a bit.

The name Willow Ridge seemed to hum in her ears. It had a nice ring to it she had to admit. Without fully realizing Navar had taken a few steps toward him, her tail lifted lightly, and her amber eyes glinted in a passing ray of sunlight. The female was usually calm and appeared unapproachable, but her personality had completely altered with the mention of his pack. Navar opened her maw to speak again.

"Are the borderlands close?" she asked.

She didn't mean to come off pushy, but after realizing she might have, she cleared her throat and took a few steps back. Her cheeks burned a light blush under her white pelt, but she managed to keep her composure and her eyes forward. Navar felt slightly childish compared to the male before her. He appeared to be focused and strong and she made a note to keep herself more reserved. Looking off out into the rise she spoke again.

"I was just curious.. I've been looking for a new home for quite sometime." Her tone was firm, but her voice was soft."That's if they are looking for another member.." she said more confidently.

Despite the fact that the ivory wolf did not stare blatantly at the girl’s face, he did notice the widening of her gaze through his peripheral vision. It was interesting that she could not scent the others upon him and come to such a conclusion, but then again, being so new to the valley, it was also likely had not even heard of the Ridge wolves let alone come upon any of their scent before.

She moved towards him then, though Phineas did no more than blink to her. Had he felt threatened by her presence, the large male would have towered more protectively over his catch, perhaps even lowered his muzzle and released a warning growl. She seemed gentle in nature though, and the Ridge male recognized an inquisitive nature versus a malicious one. “They aren’t far,” he responded, his tail giving an idle sweep through the cool air before he gave a quick shake of his pelt.

She mentioned her desire of seeking a path, and Phineas allowed a small smile to tug at the corner of his lips. The life of a lone wolf was certainly a lonely one, and completely unnatural to their species. It came as no surprise to him that she was so intrigued by such a thing, and the male regarded her gently. “I can take you to the borders if you wish to meet the leaders, Elettra and Koda.” It was a light invitation – one she could easily back away from if she felt the desire. “They will want to ask you a few questions to see if you would suit the pack.”
