It seemed the tawny woman would haunt the lagoon far more often of late. Since she had first stumbled across it and spent the evening catching up with Triell, it had called to her time and time again. Was this where she would find her lost love? Probably not, but she would be sure to check his old den in the Wildwood on her way back home.

Opposed to the last time her paws had left muddy prints by the mirrored surface, this time she had made it just in time to watch the sunrise. The sky changing through hues of blue, purple and green, to lighter shades of orange and pink. There was nary a cloud in the sky, and although a thin layer of snow covered the ground, her paws could still scratch at the earth beneath.

Where are you? she thought in silence, loosing the question on the wind. But her friend had no answers for her yet. Little but a promise of more snow to come. She was feeling dejected. Again she had been forced to leave her children to try and track him down before something terrible happened, and again, she was having no luck.

She could scent the stranger, though she could not see him. She remained seated though. Her eyes trained to the reflection of the changing sky on the surface of the water. What would come, would come. Today, she was willing to wait and deal with it once it got there.

(Before Bella gets scared, if we do the gang up on Blaze thread, after ICe/Jessie fight)
(262 WORDS)
<b style="font-size:30px;padding-right:3px;color:#7BB2B2;font-family:arial black">Broken, beaten, bruised, battered. All these words just barely covered the surface of the injuries that blaze had received from the River wolves. He shouldn't have gone onto a two on one fight where one was as big as him. He could have died he knew, but he also didn't really care. He was lucky to escape with his life, so he managed to limp and crawl his way down to Iridescent Lagoon. A place he cold be safe, a least for a little while while he healed. As much as he had a lack of interest in herbs, he knew a few simple ones. the advanced classes he made sure to fainaigue.

As he reached the lake, his eyes focused, they'd been blurry, then not, then blurry again. He made his way to the lagoon itself. Hoping to wash the blood off before he started to attempt to tend to his wounds. He noticed another wolf, he looked at her, a bloody claw mark on his face. A small nod in acknowledgement of the females presence. He went for a 'swim', stepping into the water, letting it soak around him, his mid-leg and above was above the water. He slowly waded out, letting it soak him, until it got around the mid-neck level.

He smiled a grin as he gulped up some clean water. He couldn't help but look back to the female. She was odd, not to mention, she seemed distracted. He couldn't name it, but as long as she didn't question him to over his extent, she'd be alright.

As the tattered wolf approached, Naira's nostrils flared to take in his scent through the metallic stench of blood. Two scents were readily identifiable and it caused the hair along her spine to prickle. Triell. Ice. Two wolves she had counted among her family once and while the two would always be as dear to her as blood, in Ice's case, she could never be sure the feelings were mutual. She wasn't exactly game to find out. The white male had a way with words, but she never doubted he could back it up in battle if he so wished.

The idiot was just lucky he hadn't encountered Marsh.

Such wounds could only mean one thing. The dolt had thought himself good enough to set foot in the Grove before being given leave by Corinna. Perhaps he was even more lucky it hadn't been her to encounter him... She took a moment to question whether he would have escaped with his life? Probably not. She was far faster than the guardians, and with Indru gone, she imagined the woman was in need of a beating post. Maybe she could drag him back as a peace offering?

Greatly amused by her own train of thought, her eyes narrowed as she watched the stupid wolf wade into the water. Deciding regardless of his name he would forever be known as Numpty in her mind, she inched her rear from the ground to be far better prepared should he decide to pull anything stupid on her. She wasn't much for words when not with those she considered family, far more content to let her body do the talking... or her teeth.

Blaze felt the blood clean off him with the tides pulling and pushing the water around him. Once he felt he was clean he straggled his way to shore, collapsing near Naira. He had no thoughts in his mind other then how he'd killed Josh, who turned out to be like a brother to him. why was he such a monster? He killed and fought for fun, not for pride or joy, the Swift River wolves taught him he wasn't invincible. That was for sure. ”I'm ready to die.” He murmured to himself, he was begging in his mind for the forgiveness of those who he had wronged. It was like laying on his death bed, he was saying his last will and testimony.

Blaze looked up at the female wolf, she seemed to be pissed to have a wolf near her and he never did blame her. He was more of the anti-social type as well. He should have never knowingly crossed intp Swift River territory, he should have never become so violent, he should have never killed Josh. Those were what was running through his mind as his eyes slid behind his head. He glanced around, what a scenic place to die. Even if the River wolves hadn't followed him, however highly unlikely or not, he'd sit here and die of his wounds.

He growled, though at himself, it was impossible to tell from outside his mind. He was such a dumb ass. What was he a dumb ass? He was a 'special' boy.

Ice Aesir
A few cuts showed in his face, like dark lines of jagged, ripped skin filled with crusted blood. The winter wind pulled its hands through his dense fur, soothing the fiery sting from where Blaze's blunt hind claws had snagged the thin skin in his face and ripped it. The moment the smaller but faster wolf had come lose, and sped away in a fashion that left Ice fairly certain he wasn't going to catch up to him anytime soon, both he and Triell had spun around to take care of Jessie, who had mysteriously collapsed. Barely had Ice reached her before Triell shouted, "Go!" and Ice had decided that it was a good idea. Having left the mystery to Triell to solve, and a comforting lick to Jessie's muzzle, the pale Guardian had turned around and thundered after Blaze. He wouldn't get away with trespassing, and causing whatever it was that had befallen Jessie. He'd pay, and this time, Ice wasn't sure if he'd live to remember the lesson.

But the path was long, albeit the tracks easy to follow. For the better part of that day Ice trotted along, sniffing here and there to make sure he was still going in the right direction. Triell would catch up, he knew; to make it easier for him, Ice often rubbed his flank along trees and bushes, his large paws making easy tracks to follow in the thin layer of snow.

That the path led to the Lagoon he deduced pretty fast, but what he'd find there... he had no idea at all.

"NAIRA?!" he spat out before he had time to think, to analyze: his fur was on end, hackles and tail raised, with his narrowed silver eyes blazing and all teeth bared in a snarl. What was she doing here? Wasn't it enough that fucking Rhysis had returned (and got his ass kicked)! "What are you doing here?" he hissed, drawing closer — was he being cheated of his prey? Or were they in league? Quick eyes flashed between the wolf lying on his side, dripping wet and seemingly apathetic (they hadn't beat him that much, had something else happened to him?), and Naira, who was just.. standing there. Unsure of what to do, who's the enemy here?, he was merely acutely aware of the large lake, and the fact that the tables had turned. Until Triell came, it was two against one.. and he didn't like it.

As Numpty drew close her hackles inched higher, her posture stiffening significantly as her tail drew level with her spine. A low grumble sounded from her chest as she inched away from the tattered man. His admission of his willingness to die - striking a chord in the broken woman’s mind. If he wanted to die, and she was frustrated enough to kill... Perhaps she would be able to assist the stupid beast. But perhaps it would be more cruel to let him live? She was still playing with the idea of bringing him back to the river, after all, she was yet to become a mindless killer. She needed a reason.

Her train of thought was interrupted as her name was spat across the space between, the familiar voice so cold in her ears. Her eyes slid across the pale guardian, now torn as to who she should be watching closer. “Ice.” her own greeting was smoother, softer as her tail lowered in his presence. It looked as though she had found herself in the wrong place, at the wrong time. Perhaps the stranger had caused more damage than she had known for him to be followed so far? Perhaps that thought was enough to push her over the edge... Her eyes slid back to watch the closer wolf cautiously as she backed up a little further, not willing to be taken unawares by a desperate lunge. Her head dipped lower to protect her delicate throat but her shoulders did not hunch... yet.

The pale guardian’s question had not fallen on deaf ears, but she would not risk her friend getting in trouble with his pack. Truth was, she had taken to frequenting the area more of late, the peaceful mirrored surface was good for her soul. “Looking for Rhysis before this thing came and threw itself on the floor.” she admitted quietly, her nose crinkling in disgust. What would it hurt for Ice to know he had left her? Left their pack... There was no time for her explanation of her own absence now, perhaps between the two of them, there never would be. But this wasn’t the time for apologies either. Eyes darting from Numpty and back to Ice, she had to question which way the guardian would jump. Between them, they had the fallen wolf cornered.

Triell Tainn

If I go crazy then will you stillcall me superman?
Cali came to Jessie's rescue, and Triell felt a single pinch of relief. Only a pinch. He had gotten no response from Jessie, and only Cali's appearance eased his mind. The sister would make sure she would be taken care of. With words of assurance he told Cali they return to check on her, but her attacker needed to be found. Digging against the white grain of snow, he began chasing tail of his fellow River Guardian. Speed was a bit on his side, and the adrenaline that spiked in his blood by his thundering of his heavy heart. Out for blood. All the reasons seem to add up in this moment, fueling his stride. It scared him how eager he was.

If it were not for the traces of Ice scent he might forget who he was really chasing, what he was after.

Running through the bends of a trees he tried not to lose himself, keeping the image of the trespasser in his mind. It was when he hit open ground he realized where he was going the lagoon.. Odd place for a lone wolf with injuries, but the other grounds were pack lands as well. This as far as he made it? A blink of his eyes, he came upon the scene. It was more messed up then he had thought. Ears caught a name, and a voice answering a question. There was an angry Ice, and an angry Naira with the wounded not far. His orange-yellow eyes cut to the ignorant ass first. He was not not going any where. It was Naira the Tainn looked upon next, what was she doing here again? Was she afraid? Coming to stand beside Ice he let her finish, let the pale wolf eat that up and take it for what it was. Then he spoke,"Ice, she is not the enemy here," he murmured as he had to hold out a growl, and flick of his lips to the real one he wanted to rip into.

Blaze watched as the river wolves arrived, just as he had expected. It was not natural for a pack to let an enemy like him go that easily. He coughed up bits of blood from where he laid. "I am ready to die." He proclaimed with what strength he had left. He hadn't the energy to fight. Now he knew how Joshua had felt when he had clawed his guts out. "I have done my last penance. I have sinned the last time. It is time for I to die... He closed his eyes in pain, he was helpless and weak. His times had been fun, but he was done. We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun, but the hills that we climbed were just seasons out of time.

Blaze looked at this wolf they called 'Naira.' So that was her name eh? Then he looked to the River wolves. One was not there, that bitch he'd encountered a little while back. His tail remained still, curled around him. He laid on his side, his stomach and neck exposed. He heard the name Ice, and saw them referring to the character who had come after the bitch. The one who had snarled at this 'Naira' women. It was like he'd sacrificed a goat and sold his soul to Satan. Just to fool the world with what he thought he had. The truth was he was just trying to get to himself. He was done, the circle of life had been completed.

Ice Aesir
He knew that Triell was close behind him; the black Tainn was faster than Ice, much to the white Guardian's woe. Not only did that force him to play foul when they raced and romped, but it'd mean that he'd not have the time alone to rip into Naira. Always when their thoughts ran black together, it was Rhysis they hated, but was she not to blame just as much for the heartache of that night? Of the betrayal which still haunted them? In less than a year their prosperity had been shattered, members thought to be loyal nothing but smoke in the wind. They had lost so much... The growl rumbled in his chest still, hearing his name spoken in Naira's familiar tongue — once, they had been close... A year ago, soon. They had hunted together, risked their lives for the Swift River children when the flood came, and in the blink of an eye she'd left it all behind. No farewells, no goodbyes. She'd gone, like a villain in the night, and their companionship had been shattered.

Triell was hot on his heels, jogging up to his side even as Naira answered his question. He hadn't expected her to, really, but she did, and he gave a harsh laugh. He didn't really care about Blaze right now, he was dying anyway (and Ice attributed that to a grizzly bear or something; neither he nor Triell had hurt him that much). But somehow, even though Triell said something which he registered but didn't acknowledge, he felt the need to snap one last time at her. "What? Don't tell me you're surprised he left you, just like he left us! That's what you get for leaving with a dickhead!" His voice rumbled in his chest, silver eyes narrowed; he flitted them down at the dying loner for a second, tempted to just let him lie there and die of whatever injuries he had sustained. But... Another growl ripped out of his chest, before he slowly turned his head to Triell. Would they kill Blaze and then have at Naira, or leave her, or what? What had he even meant with she's not the enemy here, or whatever it was that he had said? Ice couldn't remember the exact phrasing, damn it! But it was true, though; Blaze's wrong was far more recent, and though no one had died of Naira's betrayal... who knew how Jessie was faring? Stiffly, without a second glance at the Poison wolf, Ice stalked over to where Blaze lay. He didn't even care about his name.

"Loner," he said, voice rough, thick. He didn't want to think right now. He didn't want to smell Naira. He didn't want to have to deal with all this craziness later. Why could nothing be simple, damn it! "I'm afraid you won't live to remember the lesson we tried to teach you." Just as well. This is a mercy kill. Slowly he aimed to place one large paw on Blaze's head, to keep him pinned and bare his throat even more. His silver gaze slid up to Triell, silently asking if Ice should just go ahead or if the black wolf wanted to make him suffer first. Ice was game for either, though the confused anger in him wanted only to get this over and done with and then escape.

The tawny woman was grateful for the arrival of her friend a small smile the only indication of the relief she found in his approach, and his familiar scent. Ice however, left her flinching away from the words he threw at her. He was right, after all, wasn’t he? Hadn’t she asked herself the same question over and over? But what if he had come looking for her? What if the landslide had trapped him too? What if he had gone back over the mountain?

She watched with narrowed eyes as the white wolf drew closer, fighting back a growl her tail tucked and ears pinned as she skittered backwards and out of reach. Torn between staying for a stolen moment with her friend and fleeing for her life, she found herself rooted to the ground, wondering if perhaps wading into the lagoon was a safer option... but all things changed with time, how could she be sure opening herself up to drowning was a better option?

No, she would stay where she was. She watched Ice closely as he stood over the battered wolf - wondering. Some twisted part of her would prefer to watch him die slowly, maybe even hear him scream, rather than just watch the blood drain from him. Another part of her knew that unless he fought, she could have no part in it. Her paws shifted beneath her as her head remained low, every fibre of her being straining to see what the white wolf would do next. Torn between fight and flight.
