The night was a lot more forlorn than most. The sky did not sparkle and shine with stars nor the moon. It was covered in dark clouds that obscured the terra below. Who was to say he was not walking on hell's rooftop? His gut pinched, as his senses on overdrive he had gone from a beautiful, bright day of exploration looking for Kyrie when it seemed the night wanted to swallow him, and spit him back out. He usually did not curse the night, he was right now. What was it about today? Was it different than all most? A cold chill crawling at his spine like bony fingers, he whipped his thick tail behind him, and pinned his ears to his skull. He edged along more quickly, but his gait was anything but smooth. It was jerky, stopping and starting.

A snap of twig, his golden eyes shifted across the stretch of the black void, trying to make out shadows from the faint glow the moon had behind those damned clouds. It was hard to grasp anything distinguished with the lumpy rocks, and dead flowers. Then he saw the little beast, it's pointed ears, it's glowing green eyes. A black cat. This surely was not a good sign, he was sure there was something bad about them. What had his grandfather told him? Something about a curse? A rise of his lips he went to scare it, not wanting to let the superstitious thing control him. It hissed, and snarled, spitting at him as if it was rabid.

Wishes to join a pack had finally been answered, and Guiness had happily settled down with a group that was large a sturdy. A pack he knew he could rely on and give his loyalty to, along with the fact that he already had friends in the pack. . .or well, he considered them friends, sort of. He hadn’t talked to them much honestly and when they had been able to get words out of his mouth they had most likely been forced. Previously, in the early morning, the massive beast had prided himself in going to mark the strong borders, before heading out to do much more exploring. His scent markers would easily tell his lady around when he had left and that he was nearby, just in case the need or knowing where he was, was to arise.

His paws were moving firmly on the ground as he wandered around new territory. The wild flowers covering every inch of the area, and it was almost hard to notice in the pitch black of the night. His large paws pushed him forward, the overwhelming scents covering him in an aroma of heaven. All of the flower’s smelt pleasant, as if they were a dream. . .if only, if only. The rustling and hiss of another caused his ears to prick, he made his way forward, a familiar scent tickling his nose as a smaller wolf form came into view.

You damn creature, he thought, hesitating to voice the very words. His bright eyes held it captive in their golden swirls, bite me I dare you they said. The smaller beast began to circle, and the wolf felt his silver coarse threads rise along his spine, the ache in his gut to bite, and rip. He sometimes hated that bit of him, in this case he was wielding to let it free. The only thing was he would have to snap it, be prepared for those nasty claws. Would it pounce first? His brow raised in this menacing dance, feeling bold and ready to draw blood.

The brute went to move in, he gave no warning, he snapped for the face of the feline. He would not catch where he aimed but just behind the jaw, and hell how the thing screamed! Surely his ears would bleed, and he felt the pin needle claws inflicting upon his muzzle, and faded scars. Sica tightened his grip, and whipped the cat down in a swift motion. The cat knew what was coming, and jerked upward against his teeth. Half closed eyes he did not know he had an audience, and bit harder into the creature to hear a yowl shoot out of its mouth. By now he tasted blood, his own and the black. A shift of his paw he struck it against the cat's back, and than made a bite for it's throat. It was using it's hind legs to get him now, but he was bent on killing it after all this trouble. Fiercely grabbing it's windpipe he ended it's voice, and it's air. Swiftly he would spit it out, wanting a better look. It was so strange, a body of a small bobcat but with pure black fur. A snort, he rubbed his muzzle against his limb, and then noticed the large male.

"Have a good show?"

It didn’t seem that the wolf would be alone though, for another black blur flew through the night and a battle soon commenced. If it weren’t for the fact that the male seemed to be handling himself perfectly fine Guiness would have jumped in. And he was about to, his protective instinct kicking in, but it would seem that the little scrimmage had happened so fast, that he had no time to help this male. Now that he had finally gotten closer, he had verified that the male’s scent was one of close to Elettra’s…he was a pack mate. Guiness’s large ears fluttered when he was spoken to, his golden amber eyes staring at him, a quick shake of his head the only sign of what his answer was going to be.

He might as well have given his name to the smaller male though. With a struggle within his throat he spoke, "Guiness…Thorben." He sighed through his words, his bright eyes watching the male before his eyes traveled to what he had succeeded in taking down. How odd…a black bob cat. He had definitely seen one before, but not in this area. Gui had seen many in his past home, but now that he was looking at the large cat now, he couldn’t understand what it was doing in these parts. Perhaps the other wolf would know more.

The male seemed the silent type, the large silent type by his lack of words. Sica merely smiled, still feeling blood upon his lips, and the crest of his neck. He would clean it off later, and turned to stare at the creature hoping it didn't prove to have something he could catch. Dark nose hovering closer he inspected it, but it seemed nothing tinged it's meat that was odd. He had been taught about some sickness that was pure madness, but this creature must have had something else wrong with it. The heavier built man came closer, Sica took the time to give him a look without fully staring. He certainly had weight to him, and Sica couldn't help wonder how bright he was.

When he was close enough he detected Elettra's scent, and realized maybe that was what interested this red hued wolf. He offered a name, and the silver wolf gave a dip of his head. "Sica," he answered, still holding onto his last name for his reasons. He could not quite pull his golden eyes off the beast. "Seen anything like it before?" He would ask, cantering his head to the side to gauge Guniness' reactions better. "I'm assuming we belong to the same pack, have you recently joined?"

It didn’t seem though his scent had been picked up by the other male quite yet, but as he approached closer, he was positive that the smaller male had scented him. There was no way he hadn’t. His large head remained glued upon the other, his golden amber eyes silently observing. A good hunter probably…but a guardian could have been made out of him. His specialization remained a mystery for Guiness for the time being. His tail wagged behind him easily when the other man spoke, the red man’s ears pricking forward. This male seemed about the same age as him…yet perhaps a little bit older, and yet, he didn’t know what the thing laying in front of him was? Perhaps it was possible that Sica hadn’t grown up in a part of the world where bob cats were common, it would make sense as to why the connection wasn’t made.

Nodding his head, he spoke briskly, preferring to be one of little words, "Bobcat. Yes, I‘m new." He stood awkwardly now, in silence. He did not like speaking, and knew it would be much easier if his sister was here with him. She knew how to speak his mind, and her own, but now that she was no longer here and looking for Sloane, it sometimes caused him troubles to speak. It just made him feel wrong…his family’s ways were different than others, and he was probably one of the most strict ones when it came to those religious beliefs of the Thorben line. He remained silent though, his ears twitching and waiting for a response from his pack mate.

The brute seemed friendly enough, and Sica would assume he was missing someone. The rogue could hardly think who would want his company, but that was only because he often forgot he wasn't an outcast here with a wanted sign being his face. Tail was raised behind him, his heart still pacing from his discovery, energy and excitement not quite out of his system. Sica laughed when he was answered. "I know what bobcats are, but I didn't know they come in black. Hmm...think I should take it back. Want to come?" He asked, an open smile with his tongue hanging from his jaws. He wanted to return it to the Ridge and see what everyone else thought, if it could be used. It had a nice pelt even if it was black. "Ah, I'm quite new myself actually." Panted a couple times, drawing one deep breath before falling silent. It was strange to do most the talking, at the same time it didn't bother the silver mask man. He was use to doing that, and found comfort in letting his thoughts escape his mouth for once.

"I would tell you I have some fancy job, I'm just suppose to be a peace keeper of sorts. I don't have a title, but I'm mostly good at what I do. What about you? You have something in mind?" Sica hoped by opening up a little, this Guiness would feel more comfortable talking. They were pack mates, and might as well get to know each other, and one way or another Sica planned to have that goal accomplished. It was only a matter of time, and he had plenty of that. Hauling the cat into his jaws, he waved his tail behind him, and made a jerk of his head for the red wolf to follow. It seemed he would Sica picked up a trot, holding the bobcat firmly yet softly not to mangle it. He supposed if he needed to continue to talk he would drop it to do so.

His pack mate didn’t seem to be much like Elettra…no not at all. He was much more talkative than she, and Guiness didn’t mind it, for he was used to his sister speaking plenty. His ears twitched as he nodded his head to his pack mate, approaching silently as he continued to talk on. Also a new pack mate then? It was good to know that he wasn’t the only knew guy around…even though he was officially the newest member it still felt nice to have some sort of connection. His ears pricked when he heard continued words flow out of Sica’s mouth. Nothing was needed to be said at the moment, so the large male simply nodded his head. When a question did come though, Guiness’s head raised, not wanting to use his vocals now…or anytime soon, but he didn’t wish to be rude either. It seemed conversing with the other male would be the only way to go.

Mentally sighing, he turned his head towards the other male, her golden amber eyes watching him, "A guardian." It was quite obvious that Guiness outweighed most of the members within the pack…at least that was what he had seen, quite a few were pretty close to his size, but the male in front of him didn’t beat him by the long shot. The red wolf was pure muscle…a tank some might have called him…or the big rock in their life, for his undying and unwavering loyalty. When the other male started to tug on the bobcat, the large man took pride in grabbing another part of the bobcat…the hind leg and pulling it back towards where Willow Ridge was residing. From what he had heard and seen(since he had only seen one in his entire life) black bobcats were quite rare, and Guiness was sure that Elettra wouldn’t mind the kill. It was up to Sica though in the end…and so the guardian simply tolled his own load with the other.

Golden eyes looked upward at the wide wolf still pondering if his father and mother had caused such a build or if it was a dominant gene on one side. He seemed a lot of legs, and Sica was tempted to see if he could walk under his stomach...not that he ever would. He was some inches taller, but the silver wolf didn't see the idea working by the male's grith. Did Guiness like to spar? By his silence, slow movement Sica felt in the presense of a smaller bear than a wolf. The thought made the silver dusted man grin further, if Guiness would stand up and swat like a bear, giving a roar of his annoyance. It seemed the coy wolf should be asking why he didn't like to talk, and wait to see how long it might take for answer. Stop.. He scolded himself, old enough to know he shouldn't be making assumptions or making fun of a pack mate. The red wolf probably had great reasons to hold his tongue, and was careful with what was said. He seemed most there, just not sure at times what Sica might have been reffering too. That was okay, it wasn't the first time and probably wouldn't be the last.

"Ah, a guardian. You look the part, perhaps you and I should spar some time," and he winked. Sica did not stare long for a reaction, much he wanted to see it. His mouth was soon full, and it was probably best he shut up. He was happy for the help and tried not to drag the creature, but carry it. It wouldn't do well to ruin the coat, and scuff up the rest, but his tail bounced to show his pleasant mood. It was strange how affecting another good be, when Sica should be questioning if this black cat was a bad sign meant to mar his future as a continuing stain from his past. Long, thick legs worked the trail while his gaze tried to pick a clear path, and he tried not to slobber too much. He wasn't sure why he was eager to bring it back or what of the stone wolf put him in a good mood. It might just be his new outlook on life.

Goodness, did this guy like to talk…though Guiness had a high patience level and so he listened to the words, not paying attention to the other male’s body language as he nodded his big massive head. Having a spar with someone would be good for his limbs…he hadn’t fought much since he had entered Relic Lore…he actually hadn’t gone any attacking or defending, it had not been needed yet. They traveled in silence for what felt like hours, both of them had lifted the bobcat. The thing wasn’t that hard to lift…at least to Guiness it wasn’t too hard, he just had to move much slower, whilst his other pack mate had enough speed on him, though the large brute wasn’t sure how much muscle the smaller male had on him.

His tail flicked behind them when they finally entered Willow Ridge territory…he would let Sica take the large thing to Elettra…just to show his proud catch to the regal alpha of theirs. The passing thought caused Guiness’s mind to stop for a moment. He had never heard of the alpha male. The only time he had seen him had been at the pack meeting, otherwise, the only thing Guiness had known of him, would have been his faint scent here and there in the territory. He wanted to ask someone about it, and felt quite embarrassed when he gently put the bobcat down and turned to his pack mate, his deep voice rumbling, "Sica…who is the alpha male?" It was a complete thought, one that actually made sense, perhaps the first sign to a pack mate that he was fully there.
