Eden Asthed
*snicker* The title is so fitting~
@Steel

24 hours had passed. Was it too soon? Eden had his paws already moving towards the plateau. The same one where he had challenged Kamota. To be honest Eden had thought he would have at least a scratch from the first challenge. He really was a new member, if he had been longer in the pack may be he had known. Kamota and his perspective in ranks. It took him by surprise how easy he had stepped up. Easy but on the same time there was some strange pressure on his shoulders. It was not the new responsibility, not the shift of domination or even the fact he would call upon Steel within seconds. Eden wasn't truly sure what this feeling was. This too was a new experience for the brown wolf. I suspected the fact Kamota didn't fight was the source of his uneasiness. If he had fought he maybe felt more, satisfied? No that was not the right word. More proven. Something along those lines, he had not proven himself or anyone he was worthy. No scars to proof he had gave his all for a higher rank. They had not even argued. It was a request and it was accepted just like that.

Shifting his weight Eden grumbled. The feeling was like a itch he could not scratch. Very irritating. Whatever, Eden shook his large head throwing away all his feelings. He would have time for that another day. No Kamota, no side-tracking. Only Steel. Unfortunately only Steel. The silent male was one and all muscle but Eden was pretty sure he was not dumb. It gave him more alert yet at the same time, he was not weak either. He was too large of frame and possessed muscle. He should not worry too much. Just believe in himself. After all he had won already over Kamota, sort of. So just like that he brown male raised his muzzle to the cloudy sky. Challenging the Man of Iron.

Steel did his duty and let the rest of the pack do their thing. Unless @Athena called for him, he stayed on the edges of the territory, ever the Guardian. The title meant little to him, but it perfectly described who he now was. With Jade apparently vanished once more, perhaps forever this time, any hope of kindling emotion in the stoic male was effectively lost. His mother had taught him to depend on no one but himself so he made no true bonds with any wolf. Athena possessed his loyalty, but no wolf would ever possess his heart. None would want it for it was as cold and hard as steel. His mother had aptly named to two toned wolf apparently.

He had heard the call yesterday. The call for Kamota issued from the newcomer, Eden. He knew nothing of the man other than he apparently craved more power. His reasoning mattered not to the silent male. It was not his business. As he walked over the rough terrain, his paws heavy on the snow covered ground another call issue forth from the maw of Eden. This time he summoned Steel. A rumble filled his chest and his long fangs bared themselves to the forest. Now he knew the results of yesterday's exchange. Eden had come out on top. Now, he called for Steel, craving to move yet another step up the ladder after his apparent victory.

Title and rank meant nothing to Steel. He did not crave power, but he would bow to no one. This bold wolf was working his way closer to the top and closer to Athena. Steel may not desire the beautiful queen for himself, but he would not let another claim her that was not worthy. If this male sought to be by her side then he was going to have to prove himself to the burly wolf. He would not roll over for any wolf. Ever. He did not run, but he made his way towards Eden's call. Even so, his steady pace brought him to the clearing in little time.

The area was open, a good choice for a battle Steel thought. He looked Eden over, disdainfully noting the distinct lack of battle signs from the day before. Apparently the other male had won his new rank easily. Without a fight even, it seemed. That would not be the case today. If he chose to pursue his goal, he would need to prove himself with blood, sweat and tears. Without a word, Steel stepped forward slowly, claws digging into the earth for purchase and a spine-shivering rumble deep in his chest. His head was low, protecting his neck, but his tail rose high above his back and his hackles were fully raised as saliva dripped from his ivory fangs in a wordless response to Eden's challenge.

Ash Hervok

Ever since he had risen up to the challenge as alpha, Ash had done his best to fit his role well and he thought for the most part, he did well. It still felt odd to him though, being at the top and not having a position to actually guard. It was what he had done with Tlarx for so long and he had enjoyed himself. Slinking along silently, always on the alert and watching his pack mates. It had become a thrill to him to watch them make fools of themselves while Ash was watching them, silently giving them all strikes. Of course, this was an unsaid system between both Athena and Ash, not even Tlarx had known of the pairs system when it came to the strikes that the guardian would give to members here and there. Of course, even if the members who did receive strikes did almost reach three, they never stuck around long enough to receive a third one. Those were the ones who always ended up deserting Poison Path due to the fact that they could not keep up with them or they were too “hard core.”

With a small sigh, he physically shook his head, before his attention became stolen by Eden, Poison Path’s newest member. The day prior, the alpha had also heard the call from the man, though yesterday it had been a different member. Apparently, Eden seemed to want to rise up in the ranks and was doing it quite quickly. If he had not had been so busy the day before, perhaps he would have arrived upon the scene of Kamota and Eden, just to make sure the fight had not turned out much like Chantille and the bitch’s challenge had turned out. A death was not something Poison Path could afford. Nor were many injuries. With a small sigh, he started making his way towards the call had sounded, his paws barely whispering against the mountain floor. How long had it been now since he had first arrived in the mountains? Almost a year perhaps?

Much had already ensued in his life, and at the moment, though he was not enjoying himself, was happy he had found himself in the Lore…even if it was for a bad cause. He was now making up for his wrong doings for his good deeds. When he arrived upon the scene, he kept himself hidden and in the shadows, making sure that his scent was not being blown towards the pair gathered. It was one thing his dark pelt and eyes granted him with, an easy shadow. He blended in easily with the mountain and its foliage. Now it was just simply the fact of the challenge. Eden was challenging Steel, that much was obvious, and it seemed by the way that the challenger held himself, not injuries had tampered him down. So Kamota had stepped down…what a coward, though Ash could not complain, the less blood that was split was better, but the alpha knew Steel and he knew that the burly man would not back down from someone who did not earn something. And so, the ghost looked on, waiting patiently to see how the second would do against the newcomer.

I think I've finally seen the light..in you.

Eden Asthed
Right after his howl the eyes of the brown man changed. Focused and ready. Rising his hackles slightly he cocked his head up. He slightly wondered what would come from this day, while his guts told him that he should prepare for the worst. Steel was no softy, the chance to spill blood was bigger than him backing of like Kamota. Wind told him that the guest was arriving the stage. His thick tail straightened high in the air. Tense and stiff like a ruler. He was a bit nervous but he would show no weakness when the Steel appeared before his eyes. Steel's eyes made him think of a thunderstorm. Wild and destructive. It would not waver and when the deep growl came out the grey muzzle Eden knew there was no need to spill words. The topic was clear just as the answer was. Within Eden the sea became to howl. Feeling the roaring growl rolling over his curled up lips, Eden looked right into the stormy eyes. He was ready, Steel was too or otherwise he would be soon enough.

Words were useless. Two males who had silence as their company most of the time. They could speak, without their voice. Action would translate their silence, or in this case their claws and teeth.Closing into the male he bared his fangs. He was not stupid, both were big of size and this would be one strength challenge. However Eden trusted his stamina, if he would stand till the end he would win. He had to. With those thoughts he dashed at Steel, making himself change direction slightly. Aiming for the side of his neck Eden snapped. Clawing a paw and try to keep Steel in a hold as he went for the sensitive area. If hit he would grab the iron man between his own teeth forcing him down. Though Eden would not stay for too long on a close range as he knew, it was only a matter of time the iron man would hit him back. Hard.

His message was clear. This would be a battle and no easy take-over. He saw the determination and the set of the man's body and another rumble came deep in his chest. He'd not actually had to fight since coming to the Lore, but he was well experienced and he was no stranger to pain. Kyrie, who had tended his mangle paws could attest to that. He did what needed to be done. Right now, that was facing Eden's challenge head on.

His mother had taught him well to fight and never give up. More than once he'd suffered her wrath for backing down. She'd beaten that lesson in well and truly. Her myriad of other twisted lessons had made the man nearly an unfeeling robot, both in emotion and body. His mind was cold and calculating and the rush of anger or desire for gain that would fuel most combatants was flatly missing in the burly man. Eden didn't know it yet, but he face a veritable robot in wolves clothing.

When the charge came, he met it with a snarl and a slight shift of his body at the last possible moment mirroring his attackers last second shift. Instead of Eden's fangs closing on his neck as they'd obviously intended they came away with a clump of slightly bloody black and white fur. The charging male's body hit Steel with great force, but he was ready for it and aside from a whoosh sound as he breath left his lungs momentarily, he was unfazed by either the small slash on his neck or the hit.

Midnight fire flashing in his cold eyes, his own fangs reached for his challenger, aiming for his vulnerable flank as there forms tangled momentarily. Before he even registered if he'd hit or missed his mark, he whipped his large form around to face Eden once more. Awaiting his next move with fangs exposed and a low growl vibrating from his chest, a trickle of crimson blood on the left side of his neck.
