Oarnge eyes stared ahead intensely at the new land that laid before her. The smell of prey, water, other wolves, and life filled her black nostrils. The dark pelted fea paced side to side then circled a few times, *Should I? Or should I not?* She thought and took a few steps in before walking back out. Sighing she circled a little more then dashed into Relic Lore at top speed, her legs stretching forward then returning. She didn't stop till her entrance was out of sight, *Well, I guess that wasn't to horrible.*

The fea walked aimlessly about smelling and listening to her surroundings for wolves, she wanted to avoid them. She liked other wolves but she'd get so nervous she'd make a fool of herself. So she continued on fallowing the faint smell of prey instead. *I wonder where I am?* she suddenly thought but pushed it from her mind with a small, light sigh...

Charlotte dashed forward at top speed after the plump looking brown fur. Her complete focus on it. Legs stretched far out and pulled back to her body propelling herself forward. She had a clear mind and one want at the moment, suddenly only distracting her hearing for a second her belly grumbled and she groaned at it in response. Regaining all focus she pushed herself faster and faster gaining on the bunny as it darted through the woods turning and swerving this way and that way. Throwing her off guard it looped around a tree and sent her on a clumsy turn in which she slid into a thorn bush. With out having any control of it a loud, horrible, surprised howl fled her mouth as a simple scream, it resembled a dying animal.

The fea stood up gingerly and walked from the bush, sitting down carefully she began plucking the thorns from her coat. Frustration filled her, boiling with in her blood. *How clumsy! Who raised you! A worthless family or the Rose family!* she scolded herself still pulling long and short, thick, painful needles from herself.

I enjoyed reading your post (:

Chetan enjoyed the secluded space of Cedarwood Forest. There was something about tall trees that reminded him of pillars rising from the earth, guarding all who soaked into nature’s atmosphere. Guarding all who dared to explore the wild woods. It reminded him of a safe sanctuary like no other, a place he once called home. But home was far, far away from where he now was – home was a place that belonged to the treasury of his mind and nowhere else. Home, it was not a place he would return anytime soon. Instead his home was now the raw, untamed wilderness. Home was now here, right inside his heart, bound to no territory yet.

But the ways of the wild had also taught him a cruel and harsh lesson of reality for without a pack he was nothing but a lone wolf, strapped off an identity, a role and a purpose. Although he enjoyed the solitude like a comforting blanket there were also times he longed to belong somewhere again. But there was no desperation in his eyes or a sense of being lost into the wild. He was able to survive well on his own so far while trusting his hunter’s mark to prey on small mammals. But even still, he was growing more thin as the days passed by.

Surprised by the sudden feeling and dire need for company Chetan began to seek out a new scent that reached his nostrils as a soft breeze passed by. There was a light bewilderment that passed off his façade as he feasted upon the sight of a wolf trying to pull the painful thorns from her coat. That was a moment before a strange sound emitted from her leathery lips, causing Chetan to wonder who ..or what had caused the sound. It appeared as though someone had come into touch with either trouble, bad luck or both – and for once it wasn’t him. She was a flounder.

Irritated she started to pull harshly on the thorns simply causing more damage to herself. Growling she stood, *Stupid thorns....won't dag on come out!* she thought then with a heavy sigh calmed herself. As she looked about her eyes came across a scary looking brute. He was massive! Compared to him she was a midget! Whimpering at the sight of him she cowered. Her tense body lowered to the ground giving her a even less threatening appearance.

Her body trembled visibly as she backed away from him, ears slinking back to her neck tightly. Her tail tucked beneath her soft belly. She began to whimper more and more till words finally reached her shaking jaws echoing out in a shy quite voice, "P-p-please, d-don't-t hu-urt me!" She squeaked out each word. Her bright orange eyes were a sea of vast fear as they darted about him looking for others. Then quickly returned with a pleeding glare.

Slender legs spread out in a position to turn as she prepared herself to dash off, that she knew she was able. Surely a big, strong, buff looking male like this would be slow? Right? *I bet I'm like twenty times faster then this brute.* she thought giving herself a touch of confidence. * Maybe I should see what he wants? Neh, to risky* she decided still staring at him.

(Why thank you, I thought it wasn't that good but guess I was wrong. I enjoyed your post as well. :D

Maksim Baranski
Why, hello there wall of text.
Forgive me if this is all sorts of wrong!

Wake up. Patrol the border. Try to hunt. Bring back kill if successful. Patrol a bit more. Branch off from the border. Explore more of the forest. Return. Sleep. Rinse and repeat. Maksim’s life had a schedule now and he liked it. He liked it very much. He’d always been a wolf that needed schedules and structure, simply because it was easier to work with time frames for certain things.

With each wander around the forest, he spied foxes; there was a ridiculously absurd number of them around. Occasionally, he’d see one far too close to the Hollow for his tastes and take off after it. Foxes were filthy little scavengers and they wouldn’t hesitate stealing from the pack’s food cache if they had the chance. A fox infestation usually spelt bad news, especially with pups on the way. He vividly remembered, back at his birth pack, foxes getting into the food store and stuffing their greedy little mouths with as much as possible before someone managed to take out the little bugger—a swift death for such a petty crime.

As Maksim wove between the trees of the Cedarwood forest, his eyes locked on one of the mangy little creatures; it sniffed and scratched at the forest floor, completely minding its own business. Its moment of peace didn’t last long, however, as Maksim came barrelling towards it with a snarl. The poor thing nearly leaped out of its skin, a shriek escaping its much smaller jaws as it scrambled, terrified, and darted away with a series of yaps. Amidst the fox’s little noises came a terrified yowl that caused the Grizzly Hollow wolf’s body to stiffen.

Such a sound resembled some wolf who met a fate by the fangs of something—or someone—much larger. He had to investigate and, if someone was hurt, find them aid immediately. He took off, as fast as his legs could carry him. He smelt no blood as he grew closer which meant someone had been given the fright of their life. There! Among the trees and the bushes stood a black female (why on Earth were there so many black wolves around here?) plucking … something from her coat. Another wolf, a male, stood not too far away, just watching the dark woman. It wasn’t until he noticed the thorn bush that he noticed the thorn bush. Oh. Now it made a little more sense.

The Baranski slowed, taking the time to scan over them both quickly. Upon closer inspection, the dark girl—a young one, it appeared—had highlights where the sun hit her, almost casting the illusion of her being red. Cinnamon clung to each dark strand of hair, as if the sun wanted to paint her a different colour entirely. Her eyes were orange and, despite the pain she appeared to exhibit, there was an underlying look of anger; frustration at herself, perhaps?

The male was a mixture of greys, creams and golden brown. He seemed young, too, but it was obvious that the majority of his youthful features had made way for a grown man. Bright yellow eyes seemed confused, trained on the black girl. Did they know each other? If they did, why did he not take the time to ask her if she was alright? Why did he stand at the distance he did? Suddenly the female seemed to notice the male and she absolutely shrunk back into herself, whimpering and shaking like she just looked Death in the eye. Maksim furrowed his brow as she pleaded—“please don’t hurt me”—with the larger male.

He took this as the opportunity to step forward. “Don’t worry, miss,” he addressed the black female, “no one’s going to hurt you.” The Grizzly Hollow wolf stood a few wolf lengths away, trying to give her personal space and not freak her out more than she already seemed. The last thing he wanted was to absolutely terrify the small girl. Slowly, the huge male turned his head to stare at the younger male. “Isn’t that right?”

The reason why his own behavior was without a doubt stoic was because of the fear that the other female, now covered in thorns, displayed. He did not understand why she was so scared and it made him doubt himself and his surroundings. Hold up, wait a minute! His golden eyes blinked as he watched his surroundings with a certain suspicion while he tried to observe if there were no goblins wanting to take over the world or place more thorns into random wolves. Maybe there were no goblins but dragons instead taking of the skyline and striking fear into the hearts of random wolves. Knowing that such a thing was by far impossible – for he certainly would have picked up their presence. Suddenly Chetan had the urge to look at his own reflection. Had he turned into the big bad wolf? Had his teeth grown immensely? Was he a dangerous monster?

He wanted to help, he really did; those thorns looked quite painful. However another option was to walk away if only to lessen the stress and anxiety his presence seemed to cause even in the lingering silence. He stiffened when another male appeared, checking out the situation and playing the local hero. Did that make the female the damsel in distress? His golden eyes looked at the male carefully before returning back to the female. Now there were two males, giants actually, doubling the stress and anxiety.

”Yes, this guy and I – we might kick some thorn bush butt.” Chetan said, trying to lighten the situation (without any idea as if it was working!). Truthfully he was quite uncertain about the entire situation, he wanted to help out but only if allowed. His comment might even be misplaced but when at total loss his only coping mechanism was to throw out random comments that might cause a light laugh or a subtle frown to appear. He did not reply to the comment of ‘hurt’ from Maksim seeing as she was already injured by thorns. ”I’m Chetan and like this guy..” -- as he obviously lacked Maksim’s name -- ”I’m here to help; if you let us. How can I assist you?” Hopefully he didn't gopher the situation.

The fea began to question her judgment of this larger male as he searched around himself, did he not want to cause harm? Had she simply confused him...or maybe hurt his feelings? With a iron grip on her brain she yelled at herself *He can't be trusted! which brought her back to better reasoning of a stranger.

She had started to sit, curious of the males intentions when a larger and more scarier brute came trotting up. She was back up on her paws in a instant and ready to bolt just like before. This male talked though which made her feel like he was less likely to sundenly spring up to kill her. "How-w can I-I trust y-you?" She questioned him in a shakey but stutter free voice.

As she awaited his response the other male began to talk, tossing out a joke. She giggled a little and a hint of 'I like this fellow' appeared in her eyes lacing itself threw the fear. Slowly she began to sit again, listing to the other male speak to her. "I'm C-Charlotte Rose, but you-y can call-l me Sherly, S-shery, Char, o-or simply Charlotte-tte." She replied still a bit shakey sounding but her nerves were calming down a bit. "I-I wouldn't know how you-u could h-help-p. I still also don't-t trust y-you." She said her usually natural stutter coming out and her tone turning bit squeaky at the word trust. She watched the males with her big orange eyes, observing their every move she could catch.

And a teeny reply because it's 3pm and I haven't slept in 24 hours.

The female was a jittery little thing. She sat and then leapt straight back onto her feet as soon as Maksim arrived on the scene. It reminded him of a paranoid hare and, frankly, it creeped him out a little. He knew he mustn’t let that show; she might take offense and run off. She questioned them, making it obvious that she was a nervous and anxious child. Huh … how could he get her to trust him? Truth be told: he couldn’t. The Baranski couldn’t make someone trust him, couldn’t force them to let him help them. “Well, miss, I’m not quite sure how to prove to you I’m a trustworthy man. We can’t make you trust us. You’ll just have to believe me when I say we aren’t going to hurt you.” His eyes briefly darted between the two wolves. The male spoke up now, mentioning kicking the bush that caused her thorn-related trauma. She laughed at it briefly, which was a good thing. At least, he hoped; some wolves were masters of charades.

The boy introduced himself as Chetan, telling the girl—Charlotte Rose—that he wanted to help. “I’m Maksim Baranski.,” he nodded. “If you’re hurt more than you’re letting on, I could bring you to my pack, Grizzly Hollow? I’m sure we have a healer who would be more than happy to check you over.” Honestly, Maksim wasn’t sure (curse him for not getting to know his pack members more) but it wouldn’t hurt to get her somewhere a little safe? Shit, what if she took it as some sort of threat, a potential ambush? “However, this is only if you decide you want to.” He would understand if she opted against it, if she was this shy around only two, albeit quite large, males then Maksim had absolutely no idea how she’d act around an entire pack. Of course, she still didn’t trust them which was bothersome, at most. What on Earth had happened to make a wolf such a jittery mess? Her wide eyes were trained on them both, full of nerves and caution.

While the others slowly began to introduce themselves Chetan stored their names inside his mind. Scared lone wolf who was ..scared of wolves was named Charlotte and the heroic male would be named Maksim Baranski. While the petite female obviously showed signs of being nervous she did not make any attempt to get away just yet. He would want to help pulling out the thorns but only if she allowed him, not by making insinuations of assisting without permission. But she had to think about a tough cookie: trust these wolves to not inflict any more harm and allow aide or deal with the situation as it was. Fortunately for a few moments her nervousness began to fade away by his comment. It had worked, if only for a short period.

Maksim’s offer was one that suddenly raised suspicion in his mind. Why would any wolf from a pack suddenly offer help within his pack region? It sounded almost too good to be true; why would any hard-working pack suddenly provide hospital services to random strangers. For all Chetan could tell it could also be the other way around: maybe his pack enjoyed eating small, unsuspecting wolves. He knew not of the rituals and cultures within these valleys but something just appeared odd. However, of course the final choice was up to Charlotte. ”Really, Grizzly Hollow would do that? Are cookies included in that offer because I’m hungry.” It was only a tease – and he was curious how Maksim would respond even if the offer was not directed at him.

But sometimes, if something sounded too good to be true it probably was.

She listened her body becoming less tense yet still she was ready to run if she needed. She frowned slightly thinking *Hmmm, he has a good point. Best way to test him....would be to simply give him a chance.* she thought in realization and mumbled, "I gu-guess the onl-ly way you-u could pr-prove yourselves, was-s if I gave y-you a chance." She spoke calmly but seemed to be bugged by herself as she stuttered, of course though she couldn't help it and it was uncommon for her to talk without it...it wasn't a nervous habit. She sighed a little bit, *I guess I should let them try to help?*

*Food* Her ears now erected and alert she stood with a slightly excited look, her tail wagging. Sure he had offered medical care but maybe they'd feed her instead...she wasn't in need of any medic attention other then pulling out her thorns. Timidly she came forward, her tail tucking in natrualy. She stopped a few feet away, "W-well, I don't need-d anything like-e that...b-but I am hu-hungry." she said hoping she wasn't pushing it. When Chetan's words entered her ears she thought for a moment then decided, *Maybe not that far yet*.

Looking at Maksim she declined his offer saying, "As muc-ch as I'd li-like that-at I feel like I d-don't know you well enough-h. Though-h I will accept yo-your help with the thorns-s I gu-guess." The under weight fea replied speaking slowly as if she was thinking carefully of words as she went. She now waited for their replies as a shy smile tugged it's way onto her black Wolfy lips. Slowly and cautiously she thumped her thin tail softly on the cold ground.

Maksim raised his brow at Chetan—did he really want to tease a male larger than himself? The Grizzly Hollow wolf saw no point in getting riled up about his words, though. Maksim didn’t even know what a cookie was! How on Earth could be be angry when he didn’t even understand what Chetan was inquiring about, teasing or not. Shaking his head ever so slightly, he redirected his gaze to Charlotte. She admitted that, yes, the only way he could prove himself was if she gave him a chance. That was a step forward, at least. Hopefully it’d be a little easier to talk to her. She seemed to be visibly less tense; it seemed the gentle giant was warming the girl up, slowly but surely. She perked up, her tail wagging when Maksim mentioned Grizzly Hollow. He’d take her to the border and see if he could find a healer and if not he’d—

“Well, I don’t need anything like that … but I am hungry.”

… Oh. The Baranski frowned a little. Their food cache was meant for the pack, he couldn’t just hand it out. Ava would probably need the majority of it, she couldn’t run around much longer and she’d be den-ridden after the pups for quite some time. Maksim did what he could but catching nothing but hare got a little dull. He couldn’t bring down an entire doe himself. Then again … there were three wolves present. “Whilst I can’t give you food, miss,” he began, a little spark of excitement briefly flashing in his otherwise stoic eyes, “there are three of us. How about we hunt?” Three wolves, especially two large ones, seemed like more than enough to catch and bring down a deer.

Maksim wasn’t the most delicate of wolves and he certainly didn’t trust his big face plucking out thorns. He couldn’t see himself rummaging around in her coat in an attempt to hunt down and extract thorns from her side. Actually, he was a little sheepish about the entire thing. It’s why he’d asked if she wanted to go to the pack. He cleared his throat and, looked at Chetan. “I think you’d be better suited to helping Miss Charlotte with those thorns, Chetan.” Yeah, big mouth over here was about as delicate as a buffalo stampede. “I’ll see if I can track down any signs of potential food.” Deer always passed through the forest; it wouldn’t take long.
