"Two against one now isn't that cheating?" He growled a tooth hanging below a raised lip in warning. The black wolf's attitude went south as soon as the ladies began giving him the evil eye. Their stares and body posture a clear offensive sign to the burnt wolf. We should leave... said the weak half of the dark creature. Will every Tainn among us turn their backs on their family? Including her? The darker half snarled taking a step back. What a wasted trip.. They both agreed for once. Borlla didn't seem to care at all that they were family. Perhaps because of the way she was raised? Kasai thought quietly erasing the snarl from his lips.

That had to be it. The reason she did not care.. Was because she did not know what that family bond felt like.. This thought was what sent a shot of anger and sadness through the dark wolf. It is good then that we changed our name. For instances like this... He took two more steps back and a serious look was left on his black maw. Though the wolf was no longer growling or baring his teeth.

"Fine then... Don't recognize me as family in the least. Then next time I see you; you will just be another enemy. Another hungry soul eating the fawns and rabbits that also feed me. Competition. Next time I won't leave you in a calm fashion such as this." He growled the final words then turned and began padding along the very same trail that he'd come there by. Is there really a curse on the Tainns. For none of us to feel real loyalty. Loyalty to pack, loyalty to family, and loyalty to love are impossible to us... Why? Kasai's thoughts turned dark and suddenly he wanted to hurt something. All he could do was try his luck at hunting. Or hope that a loner would stumble over the Ridge's border.

Forget her as we are supposed to forget the others. There is no future for us worrying about family ties when the rest of the family refuses to take care of their own. The pair of personalities hummed as they padded away trying to forget the white woman that was their blood sister.

(Exit Kasai)

The woman simply didn't understand. This man storming in here, claiming they were blood, though she'd never seen him in her life. Sure, they might've been family, but where had he been all her life? What part did he play in her upbringing? Had he been there to play with her in her youth or comfort her when things got tough? No. No, he hadn't. It was too late for family now. Her last name was no more than a few letters and an empty legacy. Eventually that would change, she hoped, but right now some blood lines and a matching scent meant little to her. Her ears twitched and a small pit of caution dropped in her stomach. Something was wrong with him, there had to be something wrong with him. He was so...different compared to her other brothers.

Her nostrils flared, and she resisted a flinch at his harsh words. He was off in the head, enough to make her feel slightly guilty for turning him away in such a fashion, but his reactions and words were enough to make her angry. Thankfully it hadn't morphed into a fight. It would be like her to drag some stranger into a fight. Bright eyes narrowed, she watched his form disappear before turning her sights back on the woman. <b style="color:#32527a">"Uh, sorry about that..." The entire situation had turned aleatory very quickly and she was glad that, maybe, she'd be able to have some sort of conversation before she picked up her journey again. <b style="color:#32527a">"I guess I feel kind of bad, but he seemed a little crazy." Her voice was idle, eyes drifting off for a moment, before she quickly changed the subject. <b style="color:#32527a">"So what were you doing in all those reeds?" Focusing on her company, the woman cocked a grin. <b style="color:#32527a">"speech."

Well wasn't this something. Not that she'd intended to come here for entertainment, or for interaction, really, either, but things were just unraveling from a direction she didn't see coming. From either stranger. Just as quickly as she'd stumbled upon Borlla had her 'brother' stumbled upon the two of them; just as quickly as he may have seemed friendly to the creamy, orange-eyed stranger did the lady utterly reject him; just as quickly as Luce had utterly realized she may have been in the wrong place at the wrong time was the imposing, lumbering brute off on his way, utterances of what she deduced as some sort of threat the last words out of his mouth in his "sister's" direction. Was this some alternate dimension - did she miss something here? She was no less confused now as she had been two seconds ago, but Borlla's fiery eyes and apology drew her back to the reality that existed prior to strange encounter.

"Well, you don't need to, um, apologize, really- but it's okay," she said. To her counterpart's next comment she let loose a giggle of agreement (that he was crazy), tilting her head in a bout of intrigue as her golden eyes roved over what she perceived as a warm glow that lit Borlla's features. She must have a bigger heart than she'd put on if she were feeling bad about being confronted by a crazy man who she didn't even know, even if they were related (in some other dimension where Borlla was off her rocker, too). "Just passing through," until I caught a whiff of you, and didn't want my face ripped off by a beautiful stranger. Even before all the action had gone down, Lucero gravitated to Borlla - just the sight of her caught her attention. Now it seemed as though there was entirely more to the woman than meets the eye, and she didn't overlook the fact that she'd taken to Luce's side in a confrontation. Something about Borlla had Luce wanting more - more conversation, more interaction, more...friendship? Feinting nonchalance, Luce continued bashfully, a sideways ear following the distant rumble of thunder on the horizon.

"What are you doing out here all alone, Borlla? Seems to me that such a lady should have a follower or two to keep her company, or...at least protect her from the crazies." She raised a single brow as the whole scene - quite the comic melodrama - played over in her head.

Well, she didn't have to apologize, but she did. The crazy wolf that lumbered off was related to her, by blood, and so she was at least slightly responsible for him. At least responsible enough to apologize for the trouble she could have gotten the stranger into. It had been...inconsiderate of her for airing this strange laundry in front of a stranger, let alone being rude to said dirty laundry and possibly causing a fight. But Luce's laughter was enough to put that whole drama behind them. There was hope for this conversation yet! Her tail wagged, the happy expression growing on her face. Strange. A pleasant encounter. It felt strange, but she welcomed the feeling. A slow nod was her response to Luce's answer. It was basically what she'd been doing. She wasn't sure what the point of that question had been. If Luce had been doing something else, would she have told Borlla? Who knew.

And then a question aimed at her. Borlla tilted her head back, brows lifted casually over bright eyes. What a thing to say. Borlla chuckled, shaking her head. <b style="color:#32527a">"I am definitely the opposite of 'lady', but uh...Same as you, really. I was actually on my way to Willow Ridge." Nostrils flared as she admitted this. Well, to the woman it was an admission. To her new companion it would probably be nothing more than a simple fact. A guilty admission that tried for force her features to descend, but she forced the smile on her face. There was no need to drag this stranger into her troubles. Why ruin the casual conversation? <b style="color:#32527a">"speech."

At the wag of Borlla's tail, Luce felt just as relieved as she'd been to watch the crude, intrusive brute be on his way. Like a mirror image, the girl's furry tail waved behind her, too, and she took in every crease of the woman's smile eagerly. Borlla chuckled, asserting then that she was not a lady, but that she was on her way to a place Luce had never heard of before. Well, another place Luce had never been. Every encounter she managed to have in this vast place made her feel smaller and smaller. Brushing the feeling off, she tilted her head with a spark of curiosity flashing in her bright eyes. So—unlike herself—Borlla had an agenda, and it sounded important, actually, like some sort of business venture. If there was only one thing that the girl deduced from this encounter, it was that Borlla was someone important and that she really was a lady, whether she knew it or not.

Where she wanted to correct the creamy lady about her "lady" status, Lucero instead maintained a thoughtful silence, her brows furrowing as she imagined what this "ridge" looked like and what Borlla was going there for. "Never been there," she said matter-of-factly, "but...I could, you know...keep you company on the way?" She was really out of her element now. The truth was that Lucero didn't have any plans or any important places to go, nor was she anything or anyone special. But she knew this Borlla was, and was naturally drawn to her and reluctant to part ways feeling like she'd made a friend here. "If you didn't mind, of course. I, um, wouldn't want you to run into your brother again, or...some other crazy person." If anything, she could at least make use of herself and her time by escorting the woman to Willow Ridge and then go on her way alone.

Maybe fate had wuthered these two souls towards each other. It seemed so. Not that Borlla would ever say such a thing out loud, but in all honesty, she'd never had a friend before. This girl was being so kind to her, Borlla hardly wanted to keep her distance. And it wasn't just the compliment, but...Well, fate, like she'd said before. For all she knew, she might need a friend at the end of this. She pondered inviting Lucero along. Maybe they could both find a home in Willow Ridge. And it seemed as though the woman had read her mind. Fate. Exactly.

Her tail wagged unreasonably fast, glad that this had come to be. <b style="color:#32527a">"I'd love the company," She replied, ears perked up. After that little incident with her sibling, this was a great breath of air. A toothy grin consumed her expression at Luce's little comment. <b style="color:#32527a">"I'll need all the help I can get if I run into another one." She'd probably be rather surprised if she came across another Tainn on her way down. Borlla was fairly certain that most of them had left, unless they were of Corinna's brood. Though what did she know about that, anyway? For all she knew, they'd all gone north too, at least the kids. Her heart sank a bit, cursing the cruelty of her own thoughts. With Indru gone, Corinna had already been dealt a shit hand. <b style="color:#32527a">"Shall we be on our way then? Ya know, before he comes back?" She laughed, shifting her shoulders and moving forward a bit. <b style="color:#32527a">"speech."

A delighted breath of both relief and excitement slipped from her lips and she smiled wider than ever. Borlla wanted her to come along! This was really something. Looking back on the events of the last...hour or so, this was turning out to be quite a day. To this point, she'd only encountered the strange man who'd taken her in from the rain only days before, and now she'd met lovely Borlla, a crazy man who was, and really wasn't, Borlla's family; in addition, instead of wandering through the land of melting snow and worrying about when she was going to have a proper meal and whether the storm clouds that thundered off in the distance would catch up to her, she was going to Willow Ridge—which sounded grand even though she had no inkling of where it was, who was there, or it's importance, if it had any. The plume of her tail wagged unabashedly behind her as she regarded her new friend and traveling companion (for now, anyway). "Yes, please—let's get out of here."

With mask of sheer contentment of her face, Luce was ready to follow Borlla to wherever she could, starting with Willow Ridge.

Though her day had only really began, beginning as something rather trachile, it was forming itself into something pleasant, wonderful even! Of course, it all depended on her luck in Willow Ridge. This perfect day teetering precariously on the rock that just happened to be a white brute named Phineas. But she tried hard not to linger too much on that fact. The more she thought about the, the more worrisome the whole ordeal became. What was she really expecting anyway? Magic certainly wasn't real, only strange coincidences. Her luck had never been that good anyway, so perhaps the woman was just setting herself up for disaster. But, so far so good, she supposed, and with a grin at her new companion, she led the way into the unknown, perhaps for both of them. <b style="color:#32527a">"speech."

Yup! End :D
