Semananti
There are an unusual number of foxes being sighted around Relic Lore.

Sema’s eyes flashed dangerously as she gazed around, the lagoon calm that day as she had chosen to visit the area. The ugly snout of an unusual creature that she was all too familiar with appeared. It was followed by the long, sleek, orange and white fur. The answer to the puzzle was simple; it was a fox. She knew the dangers of facing a fox in battle, and she had enough sense to tell her not to do it. The ego in her would be lifted, she knew if she went and took on the nasty thing by herself. Yet, she hesitated, something she had never done before. She wasn’t afraid too, but she wasn’t sure why she couldn’t. Perhaps it was the feeling of self-worth that she no longer had to prove to herself, she had her family, a pack that lifted her up when she fell and she did the same for the others.

A small emotion shown in her eyes, it was strength mixed with pity, the pity involving a man, a man she knew far too well that she longed to see again. She spoke of her father, the man was strong, courageous and he knew how to deal with damn creatures like foxes. She knew that her siblings would be brought up like she had, only with less violence in their lives hopefully. Maybe someday, she would meet some of her siblings, she knew that her father had been in a relationship with another female before her mother, but she had yet to meet the arctic wolf or any of the offspring that was led by his love.

She slunk into the shade of a tree, gazing around, wondering. She wondered, listened and commemorated the young stage in her life. One that her parents thought she would never reach, it was peace and freedom. She finally understood her parents lessons. Not just understood them, she understood the importance and it was time to continue on. She never took her eyes off the fox, she knew better then to do that. A fox was cunning, sly and sneaky. It could attack if she ever turned her back, or if she ever closed her eye in its presence. It was lesson number one from her mother, and from her father. Stay away from foxes or you’ll get hurt. Then the worst happened, there was another, and another after that. Three foxes in one area meant wolf meat for dinner. For the first time in her life, she was a bit scared. Her pride wouldn’t save her this time. Sometimes she wondered if there could be fakes, some wolf whom had the right fur tone to be a quacksalver and fake being a predator. If there was a wolf who could howl like a coyote or growl like a grizzly. She might never know and she couldn't blame herself for it.

Guiness Thorben
He was exploring outside of pack territory, something he rarely did now a days. But even as he did so, he found himself nearing the Lagoon. The area so beautiful, he could easily sit and stare at the water for days. The reflections within waters had always been something that had fascinated him, and sometimes, if he was alone, he would find himself staring at his own reflection, as well as the other things in the world reflected from that area. He would simply look at stare, as if you were staring at the exact replica of yourself. He did not understand completely how it worked, but he knew if there were any disturbances within that point that there would be movements, and those movements would cause the reflection to break. The case was something he was certainly interested in exploring, and he knew even as he made his way towards the beautiful area of water, that he would definitely want to stare at for a small smile. Unfortunately it seemed as though his plans would change juristically when he arrived at his location.

Upon his entrance to the lagoon, the scent of Semananti washed over his senses, along with the overpowering stench of fox. He crept in the shadows aimlessly, his golden amber eyes landing on the scene of his pack mate and a single fox. It seemed as though his pack mate would be out of luck today though, for soon, two other foxes joined in on the scene. It was then that the Guardian made his presence known. The large red hued man let his hulk form appear next to the other woman, with a similar coloring to himself. Letting his lips pull back, he let his canines flash out to the foxes in front of the pair, his pose ready for attacking if need be. He knew from earlier in his childhood that encounters with foxes were dangerous, but if you had the right number of wolves and the right strategy, then someone could easily outsmart them. The red and white animals were definitely cunning but sometimes, there were the wolves that were even smarter. He was sure his pack mate knew he was by her side now, it was hard not to considering his large size. If need be, he was sure the two would be ready to engage.

Semananti’s head sun to see Guiness right behind her, and frankly it freaked her out. Was he stalking her now? After all, how was it he appeared just as more foxes arrived to the scene? However she knew that with his backup they could take the foxes. Without a word, she leapt at the lead fox, there were two males and a female, and the female had the scent of motherhood to her. Sema didn’t care, she leapt for the first fox’s throat, but it turned in a rage and she managed to grip its leg, biting down hard on it. Her eyes fueling the fact that she was raged by everything and she was using her anger and taking it all out on the foxes that had stumbled upon her at the wrong time.

Right and wrong was all her issues. It was her brother, who had told her that her father was trailing behind. It was her family that could ruin everything that she had worked so hard to achieve; her father could spill her secret. Her father could spill the secret on how she was an assassin, and how she had killed the former beta. It was pure instinct and rage that she was acting upon. Her hoped Guiness had followed suit, and she managed to hear the snap of the fox’s leg. It aimed to get her off as it yelped. The muzzle of a wolf or dog, and the instincts of a cat or even a coyote, the fox were not to be trusted nor underestimated.

It the other two foxes had leapt into action too, being that Semananti had been the attacker, they both leapt at her and soon it was a dogpile on Sema. She hissed and attempted to bite the others.

The woman’s reaction was immediate. With back up, she had enough courage and faith that they would get the job done successfully. As soon as she had gone for the first fox, he was also in motion, though much slower than the other female. As soon as Semananti had latched herself onto the lead fox, the other two had launched themselves at her too. Immediately, the bear launched himself at the fox creeping up on Seman’s back, his jaws opening and wrapping themselves around the creature’s neck. Thankfully, with his muscles within his face, he easily crushed the fox’s throat, and after a few moments of seemingly endless sputtering it was still, dead…gone. Instantly, he whirled towards the other fox that had jumped towards Semananti…double teaming the woman was not fair…and so now…he was going to make the odds more than even.

Unfortunately, this time the male in front of him seemed to have figured out that Guiness was also there, and turned to face him then. The help up surprise was no longer going to be on his side. This would not benefit him, but the large russet man knew he would be able to get the job done. Golden amber eyes glaring fiercely at the beast in front of him, he lunged, his teeth flashing out at the predator in front of him. It dodged though, getting out of reach of his jaws. With a sort, soft growl he raised his paw quickly and drew it across the fox’s ruby face, causing a sharp yipping sound to come from its mouth. Using that to his advantage, the Guard opened his jaws and brought them down, but not before getting scratched across his chest by the fox. When his jaws did close around the animal’s throat, he jerked his head slightly, breaking the thing’s neck and leaving it for the dead. Then turning on his heel, he peered for Semananti, anxious to see if his pack mate had made it out alright.

The avid guardian had taken out two of the foxes; she had already crushed the throat of the third fox. Her eyes were calm as she heaved herself up, scratches and bites from the fox were all. She sniffed one of the foxes to make sure it had no disease, especially that of a foaming mouth. Her eyes were hiding what she felt, she felt angry. Angry like the winds had changed to be against her, that Artemis had gone against her and led her brother here. She wanted nothing to do with her family anymore; perhaps she should find one of her half siblings? Athena or Dante, some names like that she did not care to remember. A slight hiss came from her muzzle as she gave only a small nod of respect to Guiness before planting her butt on the ground while she assessed her own injuries. Guiness did not seem to be badly hurt so she did not really care about him.

There was no need to thank the man, for risk it might turn into the battology of thank you and your welcome going back and forth. After all, she remembered from last time, he had a knack for dragging out conversations and beating a dead bush. Her tail had fallen in respect, and she herself was tired. It made her wonder if there was anything else she would do, could do at the moment other then head home. She wondered what he was doing here, so she spoke. "What are you doing here?" She asked, supposing that curiosity had gotten to the best of the golden and brown women. She looked at the male, not in a direct gaze, as that was disrespectful. She had a pondered face to her, a curious face. Like when she had learned her arts as part of the night watch and as herself when she learned to kill all enemies who snuck up the territory in the night.

Semananti was angry, but not at Guiness, nor anybody else. She was angry with herself, angry that she wasn’t strong enough to take out her father, now the tyrant ran free. He sent one of his son’s, Semananti’s brother, to hunt down her half-sister. She would protect her, if she could find her.

Pleased that everything seemed to be turning out alright, as Semananti successfully took down the other fox, Guiness quickly assessed his wounds. Nothing seemed to be too bad, so he quickly shoved his thoughts away, only knowing he was going to walk away with even more scars than he already possessed on his rusty pelt. It was a miracle with the coloring he was born with, for the many of scars that he did have were not too noticeable due to the fact that his coloring was multiple colors, leaving it hard to determine the difference between his fur and his scars. He was thankful for this though, it made him seem slightly more attractive than he could have been. Sitting in the comfortable silence that surrounded them, he looked up when his subordinate addressed him, his amber ears pricking forward and golden amber eyes staring at her, digesting the words that she was saying. Why was he here? Tilting his head slightly in confusion, he mentioned towards the lagoon near them, not saying a word to the woman in front of him.

Why else would he have come to the lagoon? Guiness was usually quite good at understanding concepts, even social ones, but when it came to relationships he was as clueless as a bird with no brain. He was not connecting the dots as to what Semananti was possibly thinking, so with a shrug, he flicked his ears and mentioned towards the large area of water, concluding that was going to go for what he came for and she could join him if she so wished. Flicking his large red banner, he headed towards the water, his red form plopping down in the icy water when he got close enough. How he could imagine Tempest swimming out into a part of the lagoon and flipping some fish out of the water so that he could kill them for her. Of course, this did not happen every time, as the large man sometimes could not move quick enough before the fish would flop back into the murky water. He remembered how good of a team they were…and he also remembered how he had not fished with anyone since he had first come into Relic Lore.

Semananti seemed almost glad that Guiness was just here for the water, and not stalking her. Her eyes were filled with frustration, though she had no idea why, her lips parted, and words emerged. "I have to go, a message to deliver to Sloane from Elettra." She said, in a haste to make an exit and get the message to Sloane, though it would never reach him really. She had no idea what was going to happen, and she was afraid it wasn't looking too well. She would explain everything to Guiness, but in another time. "Then I have a family issue, and a small little task involving two traitors and punishment. I may not be back at the Willows for a while, but I'll be back." She whispered, hoping he could hear it. Truth was that she had to deal with some issues about Roanoke and Zeus and Athena.

Then she planned to hunt down Shade and Rosealia, she planned to get answers and kill them, leaving their children, she would never kill a child, not even when she was paid well to do so. Silver bullets through the heart when she realized that if things went wrong, she would not be returning. No one would talk her out of it, it was impossible. She had to start to move on from her past, and focus on her scouting duties, but she felt like she needed to do this, as closure for the entire pack, especially herself knowing these wolves were punished for abandoning the pack.
