Borlla Tainn-Argyris
Light rain — Current Temperature: 57° F/14° C
Late morning had drifted into early afternoon, and the woman finally managed to pull herself free from Magnolia Glen. Well, sort of. Her mind was constantly upon her children, freshly "exposed" to the pack. They were fine, she was certain, but she longed to do nothing but watch them learn and explore. But even the mother needed a break, and sometimes she simply needed to yank herself away by force. Along the borders of her pack she lingered, absently refreshing scent markers that she found a bit too faint for her tastes. But as the air began to warm and a faint rain began to fall, she took to the Creek.

Following it for a time, she finally paused. The scent of Magnolia Glen seemed just out of range here. Good. This was far enough. A large tree tipped precariously towards the creek, its roots slightly exposed, but it clearly wasn't going anywhere. The woman pawed at the grass for a moment, before moving a step forward to look into the clear water of the creek. Its pace seemed rather quick today. She was faintly reminded of a lifetime ago. She'd reunited with her brother. They must've played around that creek. The image was faint in her mind, but it was better this way. With a flick of her ears, Borlla dipped forward, lapping at the cold liquid, the patter of rain filling her ears now.

After her thirst was quenched, she removed herself, finding a bit of a bed in the roots of the tree. Tucked between the roots, she settled, paws curled into her chest as she shut her eyes. Just short nap and then she'd go back. Although a rumbling in her stomach would likely drive her to hunt, if only to throw herself back into such a groove.<b style="color:#32527a">"speech."

Triell Tainn
Triell Tainn
It was amazing what a whole day and night awake could do. Triell was not exactly any more rested, but he felt more alert, more himself. When another dip in his path jostled his bad shoulder, all he could do was grin like an idiot. It hurt, but it also made him feel whole and real. Wounds of all kinds, inside or out had a way of healing. Whether it was because of that he smiled, or the strange sensation he didn't question it. Besides he was continuing this way on a mission he felt was important. He couldn't merely stand around waiting to heal. He had to do something, there was drive within him to do this for his family.

Since Erebos had told him of his pack the Tainn had to see it. The probably meant a good shot from the border, make sure he was giving a good impression of his pack mates. He wanted, no, he had to know what these wolves were like, and while out here why not? Was Erebos the norm? Did he just seem like a nice fellow? There was a glitch in his memory, giving scrambled pictures of what had happened, things he thought, and a blackness of these neighbors. It merely gave a more stubborn push to his stride, stretching his long dark legs while still continuing to follow the unchanging path of the creek. He would see before he kept thinking the worst of these wolves.

As the afternoon came it carried a gentle shower of rain, and at first he thought it would impend his trek. If it picked up he wasn't going to sit in it, and hope to run into another member. While there was no more old blood upon him, he had tried his best to not look like a hobo who had lost a fight. It meant a lot to be representing Ice and Corinna, Triell didn't need any more screw ups.

The further he traveled, he had to eventually ease down. His shoulder felt like it was cramping, and he had a bit of a stagger to his gait. (Something he didn't really want) With no fresh scents drawing his attention, he had worked enough to earn a rest. Padding to the water he meant to get a drink, and sit down. His orange eyes caught something off white amongst a well sized tree. First he did a double take, thinking it might be part of the tree. There was a wolf, and by the features he could see she was feminine. He would not instantly think of Borlla, no he did not let his heart hope for such things. The chances of seeing her though higher than Ozera were slim.

"Miss?" He called, making sure he was loud and clear. Waking her might seem rude, but if she was one of the Glenn wolves it would just be creepy of him watching her sleep.

Borlla Tainn-Argyris
It was surprising how fast she'd dozed off. Clearly the woman had been a bit more exhausted than even she had realized. Her ears twitched quietly, erratically as she slept, unhearing for the most part. It felt nice to sleep, if that was even possible, but among the cool air and rain it was almost perfect. Almost, almost perfect if not for..."Miss?" Her ears flicked a bit more meaningfully and her head shook a bit as she sat up. Her paws slipped free from their place beneath her chest and she opened her eyes, blinking away the grog. <b style="color:#32527a">"Yes?" She asked, parting her jaws in a yawn before she turned her eyes upon whoever had called her.

She must've been sleeping still, locked in some half-conscious dream world. The wolf before her looked just like Triell. But it couldn't have been. What would he be doing over here? Why was he even speaking to her? But Borlla wasn't sure whether or not to pretend that she was dreaming or to accept this as reality, as odd as it was. She'd already convinced herself that she had a new life, away from the old one that he kind of brought along with him. However, maybe that was where she went wrong. She couldn't just pretend that her past didn't exist. So, it was as she rose, toes curled half around the roots she stood upon, that she accepted that this was very likely the brother she hadn't seen in ages. Her gaze was quizzical, no other words ushered forth as her simple question still lingered in the damp air. <b style="color:#32527a">"speech."

If she didn't stir he would move on, but she suddenly started to move, attempting to wake up. Dark ears folded back from his displeasure, but when she looked at him, eyes not quite yellow nor orange with a known brightness, he knew who she was. How could that be? Here of all places? Triell blinked in turn, thinking maybe he was dead and Magnolia Glenn must be a gate to heaven. If he had saw Kinis he would have had no shadow of a doubt that he was a ghost so should he be worried about this?

"Borlla?" The name fell, evident confusion to see his sister, his litter mate. He was not staring at a young puppy face, but that of a grown lady. While Triell knew he had grown, and she must have it was weird to see her from child to adult. If it was not for her dusted muzzle, the strokes of color that hung in her long coat he wouldn't believe it. For a second he forget what he was going to say beyond Miss. Since she looked at him with the same feelings he thought he had, he swallowed a stale breath not able to say anything. Argh what a way to make her still think her brother was an idiot. Dark tail began to wag behind him, and he tried to stop his head from spinning.

"I..I can't believe you're here. How are you?" Perfectly okay things to say, a question to ask because seeing her was like seeing a piece of home he would never get back. A glimpse into the past.

Part of her almost flinched when she heard her name, as though he'd said it with some malice and hatred. Instead, he sounded confused. Her eyes met his and she felt the slightest nod move her head. It was a silly sort of answer. Of course it was her, and they both knew it. They were both so old now. She couldn't even remember the last time she'd seen her littermate, either of them. But it had been a long time. Too long. She'd betrayed her birth pack, abandoned them too many times to be forgiven. But she wondered, what was he doing so far from home? Her expression hadn't changed since she'd risen, straight faced, evidently just as confounded as he was. But as she spotted him wagging, she found it hard to keep a smile off of her face.

He wasn't....Angry with her? The rest of her so-called family had been so fast to turn her away, but he was standing her wagging, well, they both were now. Jumping from the roots, she took a step closer to him, features alert, tail in a frenzy. She was still a little cautious, wonderous. He could just stand there without scowling at her. Maybe she'd convinced herself far too quickly that her family didn't want her. They clearly weren't all gone either. She didn't have Ruiko or Indru...But maybe she still had Triell. Part of her wanted to test this theory, completely close the distance between them, share some long lost sibling embrace, but she kept to where she was.

<b style="color:#32527a">"I'm good," She began, sounding a bit startled that she suddenly had to speak. She shook her head then, laughing. <b style="color:#32527a">"No, I'm great, wonderful even." It was true. After months and months, years even, of her messes piling up, she'd managed to sort something out for herself. <b style="color:#32527a">"How are you? I mean, why are you so far from Swift River?" There was a nervous tone to her voice. Borlla really had no right to ask. <b style="color:#32527a">"speech."

A light chuckle of relief, and happiness escaped him. He hadn't seen one of his siblings in...ages. His dark tail beat more furiously, and he had a slacked jaw, silly grin. What had happened in the past had never bothered him. He often thought she felt more smothered by her brothers. She was not only in the last litter, a child, but the only girl who had remained. She had merely been the more stubborn of the bunch to make her own way. When she had come, and gone when he had his own inflictions he understood. Maybe, that was who Triell was. Trying to be understanding of everyone, and their reasons. At this point he couldn't afford not to.

Excited as he was to see his sister, he did not want to invade her space. When she mirrored his happiness, taking that step with a blurry tail of white he decided it would be alright to move in her direction. Dark legs carefully took the steps to meet her, but managed to keep a good half length. Fiery eyes carefully peered at her more closely to see by outward appearance if life had been treating her well. There were traces she was lacking weight, but there was the genuine glimmer to her eyes, shine to her blond tinted coat. It wasn't surprising she had learned to take care of herself. There was something different to her, something he had not seen. He couldn't explain it.

Triell kept an encouraging sort of smile, not laughing at the generic response. Time had been put between them, but with a little of it now it should get easier. He wasn't the one answering questions, yet. While she did not elaborate what had changed, that must have been the something new. It did make his smile broaden, almost like the old ones that had easily found his face. "I am glad to hear Borlla, does that mean you found everything you wanted?" The question was light-hearted, mirthful almost. It was not meant to point out how she had been gone, but what made her wonderful now.

Nothing seemed to get by her. How he was here on the other side of the mountain when he should be on the other. Was their worry in her voice? Triell was sure he couldn't hide it all from her. Orange eyes shifted down quietly, and his tail stopped moving. "A lot has happened. Neither Indru nor Ruiko are in the Lore any more. The pack is actually planning to move over here, what's left of us," sorrow tainted his smile as his eyes returned to her golden pair. Could she hear the hint more had happened, things that made wolves move from their home to some place new?

They seemed to get closer and closer to one another. It was as though there was some desire to show some sort of affection, but both parties were hesitant. Borlla certainly was, whether or not he was happy to see her. She harbored no hatred of any kind towards Triell. Never had her darker brother ever wronged her in any way. Not like Indru had, or Ruiko. If anything, he had plenty of reason to scowl at her, though he chose not to. In youth, she'd abused him and essentially shamed their family. Then she'd run away time and time again. She left him alone...She was just as bad as her elder brothers. Sighing, her eyes softened, this single thought in her mind. In a sense, he was almost all she had left, at least in blood, true blood. She couldn't even begin to describe how it felt knowing that he harbored no hatred towards her.

She sat back upon her haunches, her tail sweeping around one hind leg. A gentle rain still fell, but she hardly noticed it now. It was a pleasant enough day, even with the rain. Maybe the drizzle even made things a bit better. She let out a breath, pondering his question. Had she really wanted this initially? It probably had never crossed her mind. If anything, she simply desired freedom. Somewhere she could be where no one would judge her. But as time passed, her desires changed. She longed for the company of others, a normal life...That was all she wanted. <b style="color:#32527a">"Oh...Everything and more, Triell, I don't think you'd even imagine." Her entire life had changed in a few mere months. Everything had been flipped upon its head. She thought of her children, and wished that he could see them.

Her smile faltered as the question she'd present was answered. He spoke of a few things she already knew of: Indru's disappearance and Ruiko's departure. All she could really do was nod gravely, feeling his sorrow. But part of her felt a bit of caution and surprise at hearing of Swift River's relocation. <b style="color:#32527a">"Are they?" Ears tipped forward in surprise, and she leaned forward towards him. Corinna would live on this side of the mountain. They would have to see each other at some point. Borlla leaned back, head tipping back as she let out a heavy sigh. Her feelings towards the she-wolf were no longer hostile. She'd been justified in her anger after all Borlla had done to her. Besides, if she hadn't been forcibly removed from Swift River, none of this would have ever happened. <b style="color:#32527a">"speech."

Tinted orange eyes were careful, and yet still revealed his excitement, and joy. Her own eyes were more brighter than his, not merely by vivid coloring but what had happen in their time apart. How could he be mad at her? While it had hurt to think he was the last Tainn of his father and mother's, wondering if any of them were alright. It didn't hurt to see her happy. No, he liked the new look to her face. In fact he worried a little he might disturb it.

Rain falling continued to dampen his hide, at this point it felt nice to the dark wolf. The heat of summer was never one of his favorite things. Borlla became thoughtful, and he tried to still his own mind. It was hard not to picture what she was doing now. While Triell's life was different it was still much of the same. "No, I probably couldn't," he replied with a mild grin, feeling she couldn't quite yet tell him or was reeling over her own changes. "You must have at least found a pack though. I was told there was one over here, I.. was going to try to talk to them to make sure things would be all right."

Of coarse there he went ruining her happiness, reminding her of the past. He mentally kicked himself, but could not undue his words, nor the past. The news of Swift River moving here he could not read her expression. Silently, he kepts his brows from furrowing, trying to decipher why that might bother her. Then he remembered, Corinna. Triell wanted to fix it all, assure her Cori couldn't possibly hate Borlla. "Borlla, a lot has changed and Corinna seemed to want to leave the past where it is at or we wouldn't be leaving," he explained confidently, trying to meet her gaze. Then he could bare to sit there, he slowly brought the top of his head to the side of her cheek, brushing his muzzle in a tickling way across it before withdrawing."When did we grow up?" A light chuckle followed, but he did not expect her to know.

She wondered how to break the news to him. It was sort of...A news break, wasn't it? Something so extreme, that maybe he wouldn't even believe her. Certainly if she'd told her yearling-self of the happenings to come, she probably wouldn't have believed present-Borlla either. Someone so devoid of happiness and hope that she wouldn't even believe herself. It was a bit sad, really, but it was the truth. But her own brother deserved to know, didn't he? Triell deserved to know that he had a little niece and nephew wandering about. Well, ones that weren't Corinna's.

But for the time being, she put it aside, interested a bit more in hearing about Swift River and their move. If they were to come over the mountain, then Borlla would have to face her eventually. Magnolia Glen also called this land their home and she would want everyone to co-exist peacefully. She met the bright eyes of her brother and nodded knowingly. She wanted that, too. To put the past behind themselves. She laughed, caressing her sibling in the same loving fashion before withdrawing. <b style="color:#32527a">"Who knows? I'm just sad it took me so long." Borlla rolled her eyes, and let out a sigh. <b style="color:#32527a">"This is my home, by the way, Triell," She smiled at him. If they were going to talk about growing up, she figured it was as good a segway as any.

<b style="color:#32527a">"Magnolia Glen. I suppose we were the ones you were looking for." Someone had told him about them. It seemed a bit like fate. Although, she supposed, if Swift River was coming over the mountain, they would have run into each other eventually. <b style="color:#32527a">"speech."

Triell had no idea how well off Borlla was now, he didn't want to push for details but it was killing him. What new life did she have to make her this happy? A pack that appreciated her? A sweet bo? Triell waited for her to elaborate, and there was a momentarily frown across the middle of his forehead. Was it this hard to tell her brother? Patiently, he waited till the right moment to ask thinking she might need to be coaxed. He was worried about messing this up.

When she did not flinch from him, returning the gesture, Triell felt a part of him resurface, a piece of serenity as if they had simply aged together. It was sweet to hear her laughter, and how gracefully she spoke of her youth. Tri merely grinned, thinking she was the lady she had always meant to be. Borlla wouldn't be the same without a little fire, and bite. He had always admired her for her determination.

There was surprise and delight that lit up his dark features. While the words "your home" about slipped, he merely held his tongue not to interrupt her. Triell had found the place, and Borlla lived here. Who would have thought? The Tainn was struck by an idea, knowing how dominant, and wanting the Tainn lines seemed to be. "Like you're the one that I need to talk about keeping peace between the packs because it's yours?" The dark wolf inquired with a slightly amused grin he tried to keep in check, because he was astonished and proud.
