Fenru Donata

Both of his younger brothers addressed him warmly (much to his surprise), and while a smile should have curled up along each side of his muzzle, it was staved away. Serach, in an attempt of direct imitation of his older brother, also barked at Sceral that he was not stuck and that he should get up. The Tainn smiled, these two were definitely at the very, very least a whispered echo of what he and Rihael had been like when they were their age... and Fenru was often the one who found his butt stuck in a place that inhibited his ability to move... well, almost.

Gazing down at somehow noticing that his paw directly laid across Sceral's torso, he lifted it and brought his muzzle to his youngest brother's roly-poly frame. At a little over a month old, Fenru could have easily picked him up, but in not being sure about how to actually pick up the cub and place him back on his feet, he tossed the idea aside. As gently as he could, he tried to roll the pale boy over, nudging him with his nose until he could, if he could, manage to roll back over and find all four of his feet beneath him again. "You're fine," he assured him, hoping the boy would recover from cringing (Fenru actually hadn't meant to shout, he merely meant to make Sceral stop flailing about as though he were helpless, and he was not helpless now that his other brother was here). "Use those big paws, climb... and kick... c'mon, stand up."

Fenru had to crack a grin when he finally remembered just how Uncle Triell had explain what ravens or crows were. "Ohhh," he sounded out on a serious note. "That thing doesn't want to play." He shook his head, looking to each of the Aesir boys in turn. "It's a crow." He took care in pronouncing the singular word, not wanting it to sound like "currow" or "carrow" or goodness forbid, anything like what he had thought his uncle had meant (which brought him to make up the word "crovens" in blending both "crow" and "raven" into one identity). "He lives here, too, and he was checking if the two of you had food."

He let out a small chuckle in realizing that their commotion had probably caused the curious bird to come flying in in hopes of a meal. "It's not laughing at you, Sceral," he finally came around to reassure the prince once again. "It's... hmm..." He had to really think for a moment to figure out what to say and how to exactly explain what it was doing making those terrible sounds in the treetops above them. Having not been a bird to begin with, Fenru had absolutely no clue at all if crows even actually communicated like wolves did. "Well, do you have food?" he asked with an arched brow. "Because he might be telling his buddies that you might or might not have some. He stays up there because he's scared of the both of you."

Serach Donata
Sorry for keeping this waiting guys. :x

Fenru smiled, and whether or not it was meant for Serach didn't matter one bit. The tiny cub beamed, his rear end wagging side to side as his tail waved back in forth in the air above his back. His blue eyes narrowed as he saw Sceral glaring at him, but he didn't let that bring him down too much. Sceral was just jealous because he was the one on his butt when Fenru showed up and not Serach. Had Fenru arrived sooner, that would not have been the case, but puppy memories were short. So Serach continued to beam and wag his tail, looking upwards at the thingy and eagerly waiting for Fenru to reveal the mystery of what it was and why it was being so mean by laughing at them.

The serious tone of his big brother was enough to damper Serach's smile where Sceral's glares could not. His tail began to slow dramatically, and he turned his face upwards, his expression crestfallen. "Wha you mean it don't want to play?" He asked, confusion and sadness all rolled into one in his tone. He and Sceral were friendly, and nobody refused to play with them. At least, none of the big wolves did. Why would this...Fenru called it a crow...why would it not want to play with them. Falling down to his rump, he looked at Fenru for explanation. The crow wanted food, which the young boy could believe, but he wasn't so certain about the laughter. It certainly sounded like laughter.

Shaking his head at Fenru's question, even though it was addressed to Sceral, he piped up, "No, I dun have food. You has food?" Straining forward while still keeping his butt on the ground, Serach tried to sniff at at Fenru's throat to see if he had any food.

Sceral Donata
Fenru’s paw lifted away and Sceral was glad that he wasn’t being squished further down into the ground. In fact, it was the opposite now as his big, big brother’s nose poked and nudged him. Fenru seemed to try and coax him into rolling, telling him he was okay. The boy simply needed to fight. Squirming once again, though this time it was in a valiant effort to right himself, the pup found himself freeing his backside. Kicking his legs a little wildly, he let out a yap when he was finally free from butt prison and managed to roll onto his tummy. Scrambling to his feet with his tail already wagging wildly, Sceral lavished Fenru’s nose with kisses as best as possible before bounding to stand next to Serach. “Thank you!”

Now, back to the ... thing. Sceral’s little face dropped as Fenru explained it didn’t want to play and that, apparently, it was a crow. In fact, all it really wanted to know was whether or not the brother’s had food. It wasn’t laughing at Sceral either, though he found it hard to believe. It really did sound like it was laughing at him. He simply had to trust the oldest brother present and what he knew about crows.

Already Serach was explaining he had no food and was sniffing at Fenru. Did he have food? Sceral looked at the crow, tilting his head as far back as he could as he sat on the dusty floor. “Why can’t it jus’ get its own food?” Looking back to Fenru, the youngest boy present tilted his head with a frown. “Why’s it gotta ask us?”

Fenru Donata

It was with grateful kisses that Fenru's muzzle continually broadened until his smile touched his fiery eyes. "Yer welcome, Serach." Both boys were standing before him now and he was starting to find himself in the spotlight. Then the questions came...

"Wha' you mean it don't want to play?" Serach began. "No, I dun have food. You has food?" The next thing the Tainn knew, a curious nose was fluttering about near his throat and he shook his head with an arched brow. "Nope." Fenru's eyes went to Sceral, wondering if the younger of the Aesir duo would mirror his litter mate or even dare to confess that he did have a morsel of something. He didn't. In fact, Sceral was quick to just question the whole idea, “Why can’t it jus’ get its own food? Why’s it gotta ask us?” Corinna's now oldest son found himself mentally grabbing at the air for answers. "Well," Fenru began, trying to get the gears in his head to start spinning again and up to speed. He made one puny attempt to somewhat stall the couple of curious pups, "Well..."

Then he got it. "The crow is actually a small little guy," he started, slowly hunching his shoulders forward as he eventually reclined down into a sphinx-like position before his younger siblings. "Smaller than the both of ya, too." He quickly reached forward, gently tickling both Sceral and Serach's chests with his nose for a brief moment. "If it wants some food, it usually can't get a lot so... it always wants to share; and, they always want to share."

"They're good guys," he hastily added with a wag of his tail, "but, maybe when you're older you'll understand a little better." His head turned to one side and he gave the boys a knowing smile, taking them in as he gauged their body expressions and their faces. "Y'know when I was your age I was pretteh scared of crows," he disclosed, his masked face slightly riddled with both suspicion and fascination. These two goofballs definitely took after their father - which, as far as Fenru was concerned was a very, very, good thing, even if both of them reminded briefly him of Rihael, the brother he had lost. "You're not scared of the crow?" he tested with a toothy smile, already anticipating that he would be met with two bold and quite defiant declarations of bravery.

Serach Donata
I am so sorry for leaving this so long, you guys. I promise I'll be prioritizing this thread from here on out.

Serach was teetering uneasily on his back legs, straining upwards and forwards to shove his nose into the corner of Fenru's mouth. The duo had begun the process of being weaned, and had been taught to sniff for the food at their elder's throats, which would get them to deliver it. It was kind of gross, watching the adults throw up the food so that they could eat it, but food was food and when you were hungry, whelp, that was that. But despite all of his efforts, Fenru did not open his mouth to deliver the food that would get the funny bird to come play with them. His smile disappearing into a pout, Serach fell back onto his rump, looking up at his older brother sadly as he listened to Sceral question Fenru.

What Fenru said next, though, that caused the pout to disappeared and his eyes to grow wide. The crow looked so big - surely Fenru was wrong when he said that it was actually smaller than the two pups. Serach wasn't that big, though he was bigger than he had been (at least that's what mom said anyways). So Serach wasn't convinced, but he did understand what Fenru was saying about sharing. Though why anybody would want to share didn't make sense. Turning his pale head he looked at Sceral - they had to share a lot of things and even though he loved his brother, sometimes Serach did not want to share.

Head snapping back to the front, he peered at Fenru, the frown on his face growing more pronounced. "You were our age?" He asked, puzzled. "You mean you were smalls too? How'd you get bigger?! I want to get big! Then I won't be scared of the crow!" Puzzlement turned to excitement, the prospect of becoming a big wolf like Fenru causing Serach to lurch to his feet, his bum shaking in excitement. He didn't understand the aging process, so maybe there was actually a secret that would make them become big wolves like Fenru and dad. So thrilled was he by this prospect, that he didn't even register that he had accidentally blurted out that he was, in fact, a little scared of the mysterious crow and their affinity of sharing.

Sceral Donata
As Fenru paused momentarily to search for an answer to the question, Sceral watched the crow and tilted his head. The crow mimicked his movement, beady eyes peering at him from its safe haven amongst the leaves and branches. Scowling, the youngest brother huffed. Sure, the crow could do super jumps but could it stick its tongue out him? Deciding to best the crow, the pup squished his face up and stuck out his pink tongue, little teeth showing in what could be interpreted at a goofy, silent growl. Only when Fenru began his explanation did Sceral hide his tongue back in his mouth and redirect his attention to the Tainn sibling.

He watched as the eldest sunk down to the ground, explaining that the crow was pretty small and pretty smart, too. Eager to learn, Sceral’s gaze was fixed on his biggest brother, though he giggled when Fenru’s nose tickled against his poofy chest. It reminded him of when his mum nuzzled his tummy, cooing softly the whole time. He liked that. What he didn’t like, however, was the idea of always sharing food with something flappy, especially when it laughed at the boys despite their elder brother’s reassurance that, no, it wasn’t laughing at them. He then went on to explain that they were actually good and that the Aesir boys would understand when they got older. So, the crow couldn’t get food for itself because it was small? But it was smart.

“You were our age? You mean you were smalls too? How’d you get bigger?! I want to get big!” Of course Fenru had been big, too. Then again, Sceral already knew that baby trees grew into really, really big trees—courtesy of his mother—and had applied that knowledge into the idea that everything went from baby to big. Didn’t Serach know that? Why, Sceral would’ve asked if he was the stupid one for not knowing that. In fact, he almost did! He opened his little mouth but was cut off by his older brother finishing the sentence. “Then I won’t be scared of the crow!” This time, it was Sceral’s turn to laugh at his brother. “You’re scared of the crow? Wha’re you? A scaredy butt?” He gave a little wolfish grin and wagged his butt. “I ain’t scared of it!” He puffed his chest out. No stupid flappy thing was going to scare him! No sir!
