With that, Borlla fell silent again. Though it was not for lack of things to say. But she was far more interested in the new faces she had neglected to become acquainted with. Like the stranger that had arrived so quickly. Her jowls twitched as she caught him eying her son, the sort of look that she had dreaded to see. But she held herself in place, eyes only locking upon the strange man, narrowed in such a way that dared him to keep staring at her son. His first chance had simply ticked away, leaving him with one. Hopefully he'd use it well. Pulling her eyes away, she scanned the faces of those she knew again, letting her tail wag slowly upon the earth. They had a lot of work ahead of them with winter on the way, but rather than dread it, she could only look forward to the time she would be able to spend with them. <b style="color:#32527a">
<b style="font-family:georgia; font-size:12px; color:#FA2F00;"> Inwardly the male high-fived himself for gaining the role of Guardian and instantly cast a glance to Zia as if to congratulate her on now being his partner in crime. This would certainly be an awesome thing for them as they were close enough that they could share their finds and take care of things that needed to be taken care of. They could definitely be a tag-team of sorts, if that was something she would be interested in. Eyes then gazed to Elliot who stood somewhat close to Phineas and although the pale leader did not notice it, Ink did. He saw the strange exchange of glances held between the Glen’s Prince and the Moon child, finding that he thought it strange but remembered that boys were often more aggressive of another’s position. Unknown to Inkheart, their stare-off was about the Prince’s missing appendage. In any case, his molten orange eyes felt the daring and well-flexed muscles raring to go. Inkheart wished to go flaunt around the pack borders with his newly acquired title, finding that it certainly gave him a lot more enthusiasm to go do the duty he was instructed to accomplish. He knew he was capable of defending his pack and those within it and even if he had not seen Athena in some time… he vowed secretly to himself that he would protect Elliot regardless of relationship or distance between them. If not for her, then for himself and his love for the lost boy. |

<b style="font-family:georgia; font-size:12px; color:#004A80;"><b style="font-family:georgia; font-size:12px; color:#144034;"> Unfortunately for the young boy, he was still too young to truly partake in a role for the Glen. If he had to choose, he would likely be a scout for them so that he could relay messages to other packs and look out for severe weather changes or a change in another pack. From what he could tell after meeting Ava and Maksim, he felt that he was good with pack relations and knew how to manage a friendship and create a bond with those that left them knowing that there were friendlies. That would be something he would talk to Borlla and Phineas about though they were already away of his interest he would make sure to put it out there again when the time to retrieve arrived. A good few of them requested to be a Guardian which didn’t surprise the boy at all—it was usually a task that many males decided they wanted because it was what they were built for. He didn’t know Zia very well but was happy that she, too, decided to push for Guardian as well. Not surprising either, Lucero asked to be trained as a healer and this was very exciting news to Ataneq. She would do well as a healer and it meant that if he ever got injured like he had not too long ago, she would know exactly what to do to help him… perhaps some minor injuries would happen to him in the future and Luce would have to tend to him once more? |

Waiting to see if anyone else had something to say, she glanced from face to face. She had nothing of importance to offer. When her eyes fell on Albireo though, she noticed that he was looking at Elliot, the adopted pup, with a little too much interest. She may not have had much interaction with him, or have known him at all, but Zia's fondness for youngsters certainly wasn't limited to Hypatia and Kyros. As long as Elliot stayed with them, he would be protected and treasured like any other. Her ears swiveled back, her facial expression turning stony as she pinned the lightly colored male with a warning gaze. He had yet to earn her trust and so he would be watched closely. Especially around the pups. She had once risked her life to defend both Kyros and Hypatia from a badger invading the den. A fully grown wolf was certainly no exception, and she'd put herself in the line of fire if need be. Watching him out of the corner of her eye, she looked towards the Alpha pair to see if anything else needed to be addressed.
Sadly, Hypatia did not have anything to say. The girl was out of place here, in this world of ranks, and talk of other monsters. She was at the point where she wanted the assurance of her father, but could not force herself to get it. Instead she often found herself staring at that boy. Without knowing her look had softened, not in pity. Something more of kindness. Hypatia couldn't understand how it felt without mother or father. The very idea had her trying to think to mend what had happened that day. It dawned on her, it was not the boy's fault he was here, without a home. How terrible would that be? Was he lost in this meeting? Phineas was the only one who had reached out. Hyp's orange eyes looked to Kyros she wasn't sure if he liked the idea of Elliot. The girl frowned. It was a very kind thing for her father to bring him, and she wanted to believe that made him good. The noble hero.
Waiting, and waiting she listened to the talks exchange, perking up when Luce talked of healing. It interested Hypatia, but it sounded like she would have to get training? Deciding she would ask the white lady about it some time she had other ideas at the moment. When the meeting seemed to be over she made a choice. With a caress to her mother's chest, and a hesitant bump to her father's chin she approached the black pup with a wagging tail. "Hello, I'm Hypatia. That quiet wolf is my brother Kyros." Orange eyes would shift over, a grin when waiting for his reaction, before looking again to Elliot. "You want to go see our hide out?" Hoping this might really get her brother's attention, she did not wait, but began to lead the way. After all the grown ups were done, and their hiding spot was a nest of flowers, and brush near the den.
{end}
His attention wandered easily from the proceedings of the meeting, but it was Kyros' self-consciousness that kept him from focusing any longer on Elliot. How easy it must be for a full wolf to impress his father, while Kyros would forever feel like he had fallen short, by no fault of his own. His most valiant efforts could amount to only part of what others could accomplish. In time this would become his fuel and fire, but presently he could only remember the fondness with which Phineas had greeted the other boy, and could only wonder if someday, his father would present Elliot with the recognition and the pride that Kyros would always crave.
Still, even as the thoughts swirled through his mind, his negativity slipped away, replaced by unease as he caught the eye of Albireo. The way the other was staring at him was unnerving, and he found himself captivated in a horrified manner. His eyes narrowed as he stared back; what did he want? It wasn't to be revealed to him, for presumably Phineas' reaction to the man's open staring was enough to deter him from keeping it up. Kyros stopped paying attention anyway, as Hypatia had shifted alongside him and was making her way toward Elliot.
What? his heart leaped into his throat as she invited the boy into their secret hideout. No! But Kyros could not summon the courage to speak out against the invitation, and so he was helpless to his sister including the boy in their activities. Kyros didn't want Elliot in their hideout! Pretty soon, he was sure the boy would replace him, and if he didn't have their hideout then what did he have? He was resigned, though, because he could not will his tongue to move, and so he simply followed after his sister with his head lowered. If his cheeks could've burned with shame at every hopping half-step he took, he would've been redder than the ripest tomato.
The pack seemed to fall to silence with the finalization of pack roles, and as he gave a light nod to Borlla, he was far more intent on wrapping this up.. and then seeking a word with Albireo. His eyes skimmed over to Hypatia, who took the opportunity to talk to Elliot. Disappointed it had not taken place sooner, his eyes regarded the two fondly before shifting to his ivory son, who remained firmly in place, staring at the interactions of his sister and the swarthy cub. A light frown threatened to cloud his features, but stoically he straightened, giving a final nod to the group gathered to reveal they were finished and everyone could leave. It had been brief, but necessary.
Tipping his muzzle down to give a gentle nibble to his mate's ear, he then gave a light shake of his pelt, trotting forward to smooth his tongue on Kyros' crown. With one more menacing glare sent to Albireo, he nudged his son then nodding in the direction of the woods. "How about we practice some hunting?" The murmur he gave was soft, audible for Kyros' ears alone, wondering if the boy needed space from the others. He didn't wait for an answer, with a soft lope that kept a pace his son would be able to keep up with, the alabaster Leader cast one look behind his shoulder to see if the young Argyris was following suit. Kyros would need to be prepared for the world.. especially since winter was coming.
<b style="font-family:georgia; font-size:12px; color:#FA2F00;"> For the first time in the past couple weeks he felt good again, like he could do something to make himself worth it again. Sure, he loved Magnolia Glen and was loyal to her through and through. He loved the wolves who resided here with all their differing personalities but nothing felt better than having something new. He wasn’t just another subordinate now (though he treasured his place as second) but he had a role to fulfill to keep everyone safe from harm and to be the first to know of any danger should there be any. The only thing better than that was being able to share the role with a friend, one that he could share their finds with each other and talk about it—not that they weren’t already doing such things. With a glance towards each individual, eyeing Elliot for a moment he felt himself conflicted. It had been some time since he had last seen Athena and with that, he worried what further impact it would have upon the dopple-ganger boy. From what he understood he had found a liking to Phineas, much like he himself did, in a respectful way but with an added ‘I wanna grow-up to be just like him’ idea. Inkheart wanted to reach out to Elliot whenever possible but he also did not want to get in the way of his playtime or time he might want to himself. So, he simply let a smile be painted upon his muzzle while watching him follow Hypatia somewhere before Inkheart himself turned to Zia and motioned for them to take their leave together, perhaps to talk. Picking himself up he nodded to Phineas to say farewell before beginning a slow walk towards the borders for a quick spin on his new title. |

<b style="font-family:georgia; font-size:12px; color:#004A80;"><b style="font-family:georgia; font-size:12px; color:#144034;"> Over time as the yearling sat there looking at Phineas, his eyes had begun to wander. Temporarily stopping on each individual at the meeting he began to realize how many of these wolves he had not met face to face—how pathetic! He could feel his muscles tensing at how anti-social he must seem to be, never socializing with any of the new members or having a one-on-one conversation with anyone aside from Lucero. Borlla was perhaps the only other wolf he had had the pleasure of talking to under normal circumstances but the rest were simply faces in the wind… and he was likely ‘just a boy’ to them. With a sigh as Phineas seemed to bring the meeting to an end, he felt himself shake his head out of his horrid thoughts. His amber eyes looked to Lucero expectantly and without even a minute’s time, he felt the warmth flood back into his body. With her he felt the warm, mutual connection with her that he had not felt before—the first friend he had made and the first girl he had truly found himself wanting to be in the company of. Unfortunately, he did not have much of an example to go off of when it came to liking someone and therefore he had no idea what to do about it. All he could do was nudge her in the direction to leave so that eventually they would leave the meeting to perhaps spend more time together. |

He didn't feel a sting from the words his brother said. All he had to do was show the rest of the members what he could do. Prove himself to everyone and not just one. Nodding he turned and walked away. Maybe later he would go and talk to his brother. Ask more on the subject and see what all there was for him to do besides a Guardian. As it seemed two guardians was enough to have in one pack. One female guardian and one male guardian. Though it wasn't a surprise of the two who got it. They both seemed strong and loyal members.
With having nothing left to say he nodded a simple goodbye before turning to get to work. Maybe a couple rounds of border patrol and then a rest. Thanos hadn't had much sleep while he was in the Relic Lore. So certainly sleep was needed on his end. Walking through the trees and bushes he disappeared from the sight of the rest of the members he would call Family. Except for one of them who seemed rude staring at a child. Not knowing his name he had chosen to avoid him. As Than had no time for immature, rude, stuck-up wolf. As much as he hated to call someone such things he had to when it came to that male Thanos just felt sickened looking at him. Certainly somthing to warn his brother about, because if the rude male meant harm then he should perish from Magnolia Glen lands.
