Up and up the blood travelled, and even though she could not see the specter that she she knew to be @Rhysis, she could feel him. Her skin crawled under the feeling of his gaze but she didn’t dare squeeze her eyes shut. The end was coming, she knew it was near, and she would face it with open eyes. She would not cower and whimper like she had so many years ago in the back of a den with her sister at her side. She had come so far...

When his voice spoke behind her she tried to turn her head, but an impossible weight was forcing her down, down, down. I’m coming for you... the words seemed to echo off invisible words, and then he was on her, cutting off her air supply. No matter how she gasped she couldn’t seem to fill her lungs. Her head was pinned and stars began to float in the corners of her eyes...

The tawny wolf awoke with a start to blindness. She tried to lift her head, to breath but at some point @Aponi had rolled onto her head and @Nova had made herself quite comfortable across her ribs. @Mapplethorpe was laying at her back and she was burning up. Gathering her legs beneath her she unceremoniously dumped her daughters as she rose and made her way sleepily to the entrance of the den. She sat just outside it’s entrance, the moonless night eerily quiet as she blinked the sleep from her eyes and looked to the stars, trying to make sense of it all.

I’m coming for you. The voice continued to echo in her head.

And deep in her heart, she knew it to be the truth.
