EDIT: Dated 11/09/13 The pups could always sneak out ;)

It was nearing midnight, and the wolf was having one of those nights. The nights where you were considered an insomniac because, by all tried means, you just could not go to sleep.

Shaking her coat, the woman lifted herself from her warm perch between her pack mates, and blew out a restless sigh. Stretching, her back arched and toes curled, she let out another sigh as she took a deep breath of the crispy air. Padding out of the den, she gave @Yuka a small lick, before fully exiting her comfy premises.

Inali's fur coat had finally shed it's summer fur and now that it was winter time, her winter coat had come out. Her fur was thicker now, and her natural rust hued coloring was now more pronounced.

Underneath, a soft layer of snow smushed between her paws, and she looked down at the white element in slight curiousity mixed with a bit of surprise. She knew about snow of course, but she didn't remember it coming so quickly before in previous seasons. Though, these lands were not the same as her own. She remembered the frost that had appeared earlier, and she wondered if this was normal for these lands. The weather was cold, but not as cold as she knew a seasoned winter could become.

Her mind briefly wondered to @Minka. Her friend had gone through a deep period of sadness when she found out that Asterion had left, but it seemed like she was recovering from it, and she was glad of that. No man was worth her tears. Someone as good as Minka did not deserve to be hurt in that way of abandonment, but Inali knew that the Fates plans did not always contain sunshine and rainbows.

Inali did not know of the feud that had gone between @Simaea and Minka, but she often wondered why she never saw the Healer anymore. She did not know that the woman had holed herself up for so long, for if she had, she would've done something about it.

Inali decided that her mind had wandered around for too long, and she brought herself back to reality. With soft laughter, the young woman laid on the soft pillow of snow beneath her, and pawed at it playfully. Rolling around in youthful abandon, she took great care to not wake her pack mates.

Yuka Thorben
As of lately with the unique weather changes, Yuka had not been getting much sleep. During the day, when the sun was shining above his head, he would sometimes catch his eyes starting to drop in the middle of his duties. He found that he was always using more energy when he was doing something and if he did come across his sister and they would get into a scuffle, she would always end up on top, even with his now bigger build. Even now, slightly awake within the darkness of the den, he was slightly shocked when a soft stroke upon his forehead jarred his thoughts. Opening his now amber eyes, with flecks of teal near his pupil, he looked towards the retreating from of Inali. The young pup had learned enough to know that he had developed emotions for the pretty woman and had been enthralled by her ever since they had first met.

Pushing himself up from his position on the ground, he followed behind her quietly. He did not think that she had meant to waken him, if he had been asleep in the first place, so he found no harm in following behind her larger form. For all he could tell, the rest of the den was asleep, and as he stepped out into the bitter cold, he inhaled sharply, letting the cold bits sting his lungs before he exhaled his warm breath. Looking towards her creamy form, Yuka padded towards her, his shoulder muscles flexing slightly as his larger paws landed next to her. The Thorben sat down confidently, letting his gaze trace back to her, his russet yars twitching slightly. He had matured much since he had been born and sometimes he wandered if Inali had noticed.

Sorry for the slight PP of events, tell me if you want me to change anything.

The woman barely had laid herself onto the ground to have some fun, when her ears took notice of a pair of footfalls behind her. The twinkle in her eye grew brighter as she noticed the pup.

Inali couldn't help but grin as she noticed him approaching her. He had finally grown into his figure, and she couldn't help but be proud of the growing boy. He had fought so hard to show, not only to his siblings, but to himself, how strong he could really be.

The woman remembered their lessons together. From traveling across the borders of their land, to hunting small prey, to play fights. She had grown so close to this boy in such a short time. She cared for him deeply.

But Inali noticed something that amused her, but also worried her. Yuka was smitten with her. She didn't notice when it had started, or how she hadn't noticed before, but she hoped that it wouldn't develop into something that could become troublesome.

The boy sat confidently beside her, and she lowered her head to greet him. Running her muzzle softly from his backside all the way to the crown on his head, she nuzzled him. Hey Big Guy. I didn't mean to wake you. I just couldn't sleep, so I decided the best was to step out."

Looking into the eyes that had changed from puppy blue, to amber with flecks of teal, she grinned softly. "I'm very proud of you honey, you do know that right? You've been doing so good in our lessons, and my, you've grown so big! You'll be bigger than me in no time!" Chuckling softly, she playfully swatted his muzzle.

It wasn’t long before Inali took the pleasure of greeting him, first in the silent way that he had come to appreciate, and he gave her a brief lick on the cheek in return. Her touch brought unusual shivers that made him feel uncomfortable because it was a foreign feeling to him, but before he could elaborate much on his thoughts she spoke, her words touching his ears softly, almost causing the need from him to strain forward so that he could hear her. The larger boy had come to like the nickname that she had given him, mostly because he was much bigger now, successfully passing by both of his siblings. He had heard stories of his Uncle Guiness from Narimé and she claimed that he was much like him. It was nice to know that he wasn’t some freak of nature like his siblings often thought he was, but as he had observed them time and time again he noticed that they weren’t in tune with nature the way he was. They didn’t stop to appreciate the beauty of every living thing around them, but Yuka knew and believed that everything around them had a purpose, no matter what it may be.

More vocalization from Inali caused him to turn his attention back on her and letting his ears prick forward to hear her words, a rumbling growl in thanks for her compliment to him. He had been working hard over the last several months. His siblings didn’t notice though and neither had either of his parents. It made him believe that the woman in front of him….she took much better care of him than the other two had. Inali had taken him out many times and taught him how to fend on his own whilst his birth parents did something else besides pay attention to him. While Titan and Malia got lost everywhere they went, at least he seemed to have a general direction of where he was headed most of the time now. Sighing softly, he tilted his head slightly towards the creamy woman next to him and asked her a question that had been bugging him for quite some time now. <b style="color:#2cb79f">”Why don’t they like me?” He says this softly, looking up at the older woman with soft amber eyes.

Ah freak..the feels. Just sprang out of me.

”Why don’t they like me?”

Those words were like a knife to her heart, stabbing her right through the middle. Choking back an unexpected sob, she pulled him into her embrace. Wrapping her head around his neck, she nuzzled him comfortingly. Or at least that's what she was aiming for.

"Oh honey..," she trailed off. Her mind was going haywire, trying to figure out what she could say to make this boy not feel so bad. He probably thought no one liked him because everyone was so busy all the time that they didn't really pay attention to him. She saw someone bright in Yuka. He could really be something. His sister and brother were of the rowdy bunch, but not Yuka. Oh no, not her her Yuka. He was something special, and she saw it plain view when she looked into his eyes. There was much he could give to the world, if only they would accept him.

Sure he wasn't that sociable of a kid, but he wasn't perfect. So what if he didn't like to talk much? When he did talk, it was always thought out and meaningful. Burying her face into his neck, she sighed softly. opening her maw, she prayed to the Fates. "Oh honey. They love you, I know that..there just..busy a bit. But they love you. I see it when they're around you. Like your mother and father. Their very protective over their children. And..and Titan. He's a good boy, caring for his sibling's welfare, even if he is a bit rowdy. And your sister. Malia..Malia is something else. She's mischievous and she bully's you a bit, but I know she loves you. She won't let anyone bring you down. And I love you."

By this time, she had pulled away from their embrace and was looking at him firmly in the eye. he might not catch all her words, but she knew he would catch the gist of what she was trying to say. "I wouldn't let anyone hurt you. Don't you see?"

This song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQfo4diRYQk Different from the other one I showed you.

He heard her voice so clearly but felt as if he were a million miles away from her. The woman’s gentle words left no room for him to say anything, but he felt like they were getting nowhere. His ears twitched when he heard her words, disappointed that she didn’t understand. Yuka had seen the way his siblings had looked at him, filled with such loath: that of which was directed at him. He didn’t want to be the child that disappointed his parents, he knew that he was smart, but even the young boy was modest enough to know that he didn’t know how smart he really was, probably not as intelligent as the beautiful woman beside him was. Her words got his heart fluttering for a moment and silently the child cursed himself for the action, wondering why feeling loved felt so…awkward. He knew he loved her too, but at that point in time, he just viewed as caring for a pack mate deeply and didn’t think much of his feelings. The young boy was glad he had someone to count on though, even if it was not his kin.

He found himself leaning into her embrace, his head pressed up against her shoulder and taking comfort in her familiar scent. Opening his jaws, he spoke once again, <b style="color:#2cb79f">”You don’t see the way Titan and Malia look at me though. It is as if they look at me as a thing and not their blood.” He knew that he would do anything for his family, even if they did despise him for unknown reasons. He had saved Malia once and he would readily do it again, he just wished his siblings had a little bit more sense than he did. It did not seem as though they had the decency to even consider the way other wolves outside of their pack would act towards them and at first they were being ignorant, but now that Yuka had warned them multiple times, he realized they were finally being stupid. They now knew about the dangers and were no longer considered ignorant. Sighing at this realization, he let his eyes meet his friend’s desperately asking for her to understand him.
