Ooc: @Silver here we go! :D

The storm was whirling around him as Rayne sighed heavily as he studied the field around him. It had been quite some time since he had last been to this field, not since...Shaking his head, Rayne didn't want to remember what had happened here the last time he was here. The fight was something he was ashamed of, as he had come to a realization that he been taunted by the hellion and nothing he had spoken was the truth.

The field was now covered by snow and the tree in the middle was still there, for which Rayne had taken shelter under from the storm, though it still buffeted his fur as he lay curled in some of the roots that he had dug under, still on alert for any wolves that might sneak up on him as he attempted to wait out the storm. Though there was no real reason for any wolves to be out here, there was no want for a repeat of last time either. He then begun to remember happier memories came to him because of this field as well. It was the first place he had meet Aideen, who had gleefully promised to help him find his sister and did she! Weeks after speaking, they had meet up again and not long after, Rayne was meeting in a joyous reunion with his sister. He hadn’t stayed long, only enough to let Senka know he was alive and well before he moved on after feeding from a nearby moose carcass. His sister had been sad to see him go but told him he was always welcome to visit, if he so wished.

Remembering his sister made Rayne feel a little melancholy, allowing his head to drop between his paws after studying the storm and making his ears drop slightly. There was no way there could be another wolf would here in this weather. Only fool like him who were too stupid to take their sister’s offer of staying at her pack for the winter.

Speech!

Why was she out here? Ah yes, Silver was hoping to find any food for the pack. Yet before she knew it a storm rolled in. Layering snow over her. She had to find shelter quick. Her pack wasn't far away but she didn't want to return this far out. In the flurry of snow she saw a tree. It looked like it had bulky roots too. Pushing herself on ward she moved until she was within a few feet of the tree. It was then that the scent of a stranger reached her nose.

"Damn it!" Her words were yelled and coupled with a snarl. A stranger had taken cover before she could get to it. Taking the risk she moved closer to the roots looking for the body in it. Without hesitation the sigh of a large, rather handsome, male. He didn't look dangerous but didn't they all seem harmless at first? Snarling a bit she pulled her lip back. "I don't feel like fighting or dying and I got a family to go home to. I suggest you move and let me in." Maybe that was a tad mean of her but she didn't wanna die in this sudden snow storm. Even if it didn't last long she needed somewhere to rest from pushing through snow.

Waiting for him to move she thought it would be a good time to apologize. "Honestly I'm sorry for the sudden anger I had with you. I merely have a pack to return to and we both need shelter. Perhaps I can squeeze in?"

To say Rayne was surprised to see another in this weather was an understatement. After all, who would willingly wander in this storm? Yet as the wind whipped around him, there was a quick whiff of a another wolf and as he lifted his head from the roots, he let out a yelp when shouted words were heard on the wind. Who was that? He moved to scramble out of the roots just as a smaller, female wolf stepped up in front of him, demanding that he let her in. As she was at the only entrance that allowed his larger frame to fit easily through the roots, Rayne whined lightly and lowered his ears in submission. Truly, he wished for no more fights with strange wolves. He had only gotten lucky with his last fight and managed to win it. Moving back into the roots, he allowed her to squeeze in if she wished.

“Y-you can come in,” He voiced his answer to her demand, nervousness seeping into his voice just in case she didn’t understand his movements, ears pricking as she spoke again. Apologizing for her harsh words. He smiled gently at her. It was obvious she wasn’t happy with the storm outside and truly didn’t mean to snap at him like she had. “I-it’s fine. I understand. It w-would be difficult t-to go anywhere w-with this storm happening.” Shifting a little more, Rayne’s back curled to the back of the wall and trying to make enough room for the female to fit in. When she would be settled by his side, he’d blush slightly-he’d never been so close to a girl in quite some time that wasn’t a family member-before he’d peer at her and introduce himself after glancing outside at the storm. Rayne couldn’t stop himselffrom thinking how lovely she looked. “W-well, it looks l-like we’ll be rooming f-for some time. I-I don’t think that’ll be g-going away anytime soon. So if you don’t mind, m-might I ask what your n-name is? I’m Rayne.” Rayne sighed heavily, cursing himself for his stutter.

Smiling she nodded her head in thanks before sneaking in next to him. It was weird to be this close to a male. Though she accepted the fact that it was nothing more then for shelter. Even if he was cute. "Thank you. Not many would be willing to share shelter." She blushed slightly as her body was pressed against his.

"My name?" For a moment it was like she forgot it. With a stupid look on her face she smiled shy. "My name is Silver Shadow. That's a nice name, Rayne." It made her giggle lightly. Such a soft name for a male so big and tough looking. Though she took note of his stutter. Was she making him scared? Nervous or even sad? Frowning slightly she set he head down on her paws carefully.

Licking her black tainted lips she proceeded to speak. "Why do you stutter? Am I making you nervous? If so I'm sorry." Silver didn't wish to harm this wolf in anyway. For Rayne had been so kind to share the space even after she snapped at him. Now how many wolves did that for one another? Not many from what she knew. So perhaps she got lucky having it be Rayne in the roots. She most certainly owed him for this. Whether it be taking him back to Secret Woodlands or sparing any leftovers she had if she found food. "You have a home, Rayne?"

The shelter was a bit of a tight fit, what with there being two full grown wolves curled around each other. Rayne tried not to blush at the warmth at his side, before coming to a realisation that if he wished to place his head down in any semblance of comfort, it would have to rest on the now named fae, Silver’s, shoulders. The only reason he let her in was because he was far too kind to just let a lady freeze to death in the snow storm. He wouldn’t risk the life of another simply for the selfish sake of being able to stretch out in a shelter. But before he could ask his question, He twitched slightly when she begun to speak again, asking why he was stuttering and if he had a home.

”O-oh, it’s n-not your fault.” Rayne tried to assure her, trying to temper his stutter but failing miserably. Even though she had worsened it when she snapped at him earlier, he was nervous around all females. Well, except Aideen but she was his friend now. ”I-I am just n-nervous around g-girls that’s all...And n-no, I have n-no home c-currently. ” The shelter went quiet once he finished talking. Until...

”Um, d-do you mind i-if I r-rest my head o-on your s-shoulders?” Rayne asked her quietly, his tone polite and soft. His neck was beginning to get a little sore from holding his head up above her. ”It’s just...I-I have no clue how l-long this storm will l-last and i-it’ll be more c-comfortable and w-warm.” It was the truth, though Rayne hoped she wouldn’t take it the wrong way.

( @Rayne this is so cute!)

She smiled glad to know it wasn't her fault. "Maybe after this I could lead you pack to my home." Her tail wagged for a brief second before it stopped. Though another warm blush ran through as he asked to rest his head on her shoulders. "I have no issue with that!" Perhaps she was to excited at the thought of the handsome male resting his head on her. Closing her eyes tight she had to make sure to keep her walls up. She had been hurt one, how did she know that Rayne would not hurt her to? @Ace had left her quicker then she ever thought he would. What made this stranger so different from Ace?

"So, uh, what you want to talk about? I'm sure we'll be here for a bit. It'd be a good time to learn about each other." It was just an excuse to keep the silence away. Silver hated silence when it came to being with someone. It left her feeling empty and like she did something wrong if there was silence. Maybe she was just being concession of her emotions, though she had ever right to. Being hurt so many times it was hard to trust anymore.

Looking out towards the sky she saw the snow falling with no end in sight. It was a pretty but dangerous thing. The snow brought the cold. With the cold was usually death. Though tonight it seemed like the two wolves had escaped death by staying warm.

( @Silver I know! I have a feeling it might get too cuter with my post though <3)

Rayne was surprised when she offered to take him back to her pack, her tail wagging for a moment. Go back with her to her pack? He was a complete stranger to her, she had no idea who he was or anything! Though he had kindly let her into the shelter and she had giggled just before so maybe she thought he was harmless...”A...are you sure?” He murmured, gently resting his head on his shoulders. She was quite a bit smaller then him and there was some worry that he would simply smother her with his greater bulk. When she didn’t snap at him, he allowed a small smile. Perhaps he had misjudged her earlier, due to the bad weather. Silver was a nice enough girl but something told him there was something running deeper inside of her. Something that made her hold back yet there was no use in pushing her for information. She could very well turn on him in this small shelter and that was something that he didn't wanted.

”That sounds like a good idea, why don’t you tell me where your pack is?” His stutter finally seemed to have calmed down as he replied to her last sentence, possibly due to the fact that he now felt relaxed around Silver? He frowned at the thought. That couldn’t be it. They had only known each other a short few minutes. And he didn’t mind talking with her either, though silence wasn’t something he disliked. In fact, he liked it. It gave him time to think and plan out what he would be doing next. ”And you’re right. I don’t think this storm will let up for maybe another few hours.” He glanced at the raging storm outside, wondering what will happen to him now he’d met this new wolf who offered to take him back to her pack.

The snow did seem never ending and though he saw the prettiness in it, it also held danger. ”You know, I once was told snowflakes are unique as wolves.” His voice rumbled in his chest when he spoke, eyes on the entrance and chin on her shoulders as if he was guarding her. Gauding her against the weather or whatever else might come hurtling down the hole at him.

( @Rayne )

"My pack's not to far from here. About two or three miles from here." She smiled dumbly feeling his head on her shoulders. There was something about him, but she couldn't tell what. Maybe those looks of his? Or the way he spoke. All she knew was there was something driving her crazy in a good way. Something she couldn't ignore but would learn to have to.

Listening to his words she was ready to reply when the scent of rabbits hit her nose on the wind. "Rayne, should we risk it and try to take those rabbits?" It was a risk. For all she knew the rabbits could already be long gone away from them. With the wind coming from farther then the her eye could see it was hard to pin point where the rabbits where exactly. Perhaps Rayne would be able to smell them better maybe even able to see tracks in the heavy snow. That was only if they were lucky though. But Silver had to ask herself, was chasing these really worth the chance? The snow was harsh and showed no signs of stopping. Even though it meant food it didn't mean she would receive it with ease.

"Maybe we would be safer here. I don't want to risk anything." Softly she sighed knowing that this was an opportunity for food that was slipping through her paws, but safety came first. Especially sense she was with someone else. With his bulky size he might scare away any prey including the rabbits. It seemed like the odds where stacked against her this time. Maybe Rayne would have something else to say though.

( @Silver )

Rayne didn’t quite understand these feelings stirring in him yet at the same time, he wasn’t sure he wanted to know. What were they? And why did they only stir for Silver? All the other female wolves he had met along his journey, how they made him feel upon first meeting them had not matched these feelings that he was now experiencing. Why? What was so different about Silver?

Rayne was brought from his thoughts when the scent of rabbits wafted threw the air then Silver asking if they should risk it and go after them. Rayne’s stomach told him to go after them, despite the more obvious risk of death in the snow. He pushed the thought aside, thinking instead of Silver and her pack as Rayne shifted slightly, debating about whether or not they should go after them. Food was growing very scarce and who knows if they would get another chance? The last meal Rayne had with any certainty was when he was with Senka at the borders of her pack and there had been a dead moose nearby he had been allowed to eat as much as he could.

”We can only try.” Rayne told her softly, knowing how foolish he was sounding. Risking their lives for a few measly rabbits? It was absurd! ”You have a pack yes? If we can go back with even one rabbit, that would help them greatly wouldn’t it? I trained as a guardian with my old pack and though it’s not on par with the skills of a hunter, I can read tracks and scents fairly well.” Rayne waited for Silver to decide, as not only would she have to move in order for him to get out but also because he half wanted her to say no, and to stay in the shelter.
