Also, Nayeli's RE (Nayeli, you bumped your head on a low branch).
Morning light filtered through bare branches, setting the white world aglow. The Stormwright she-wolf had awoken early, rising even as the sun rose into the clear sky. Her feet now sounded a steady rhythm upon the frozen crust of snow, kicking up little clouds of powder into the air behind her. The trunks of trees flashed past as the dark form sped by, letting her paws choose her route for her.
For Nayeli, running was one of life's simple pleasures. She had already explored a good bit of Oak Tree Bend's territory since joining - first following the borders to learn where they lay, then acquainting herself with the wild stretches and hidden spots within and around those borders. This was her home now, for the foreseeable future, and she intended to learn the land well. Like a night wind she slipped through the dawn, racing nothing but her own shadow. This morning she partook in less of a serious patrol and more of a capricious exploration, wondering what small corners of this place she had yet to discover. Some might consider it a waste of energy to run simply for the sake of feeling the wind in your fur; Nayeli considered it a waste to live life without occasionally enjoying oneself once in a while. A patrol didn't have to be drudgery. The winter could bear down upon them with all it's cruelty, but it could only get into one's mind and heart as much as it was allowed to.
She had almost forgotten all of her worldly troubles, becoming totally engrossed in the activity at hand, when a rather fat black-and-white bird burst upwards off of the low snow-covered branch that stretched right across Nayeli's path. As it did so, the snow that had accumulated there was at last shaken loose, and the branch gladly began to snap upwards toward its former natural position. The bough struck the mark on Nayeli's forehead like a target, and she saw stars. Her next few steps were faltering and unsteady as momentum carried her along in her own wake, before she collapsed onto the snow. "Shit. Ouch." she mumbled dragging herself back to her feet and shaking the snow from her pelt. Shaking was perhaps not the best idea - it took an extra moment for the world to settle itself when she stopped, and her stomach rolled in protest. "Ugghh..."
