Taimaa had never asked if she could touch him. Every instance he could recall was like this moment: she just inserted herself into his personal space as if she belonged there. Datura considered pushing her away. He wasn't in the mood for contact. But as her tail brushed passed his nose, he caught a scent that was entirely different from the males he had smelled before. So intense was this smell that he wondered how he had missed it before. It was strange, but not terrible. In fact, as her tail passed his nose and began to trail along his shoulder he turned his head to follow it. As his betrothed continued to move he craned his neck even farther to get a good look at her, entranced by this arcane scent and her unreadable expression and eventually was forced to whip his head around as she came around to his other side.
This time when she crooned and nudged his pale throat, he didn't mind. Inexplicably, he found himself upset when she pulled away, and his expression was pained. Why did she pull away now? His ears shifted backwards and he whined softly. She was smiling now but he couldn't quite understand why. Was something funny?
"I love you..."
Oh.
The passion in her voice overwhelmed him. She wanted him? Now? Datura knew a little of this "wanting." He had watched the birds do it, he had once caught a pair of foxes doing it. In fact, though he found contact repulsive he found himself oddly breathless and embarrassed when he watched these acts. One time Adonis had caught him watching and laughed out right at him. The way she stood quaking before him was the only answer he needed though, whether or not she knew that this was what she was asking for.. she wanted it. With great satisfaction he watched he crumple before him.
He had no choice but to give her what she wanted.
