Kassander Mikhailovich

Kassander was thankful when the lady seemed to understand his name and what he had said. She asked with one word questions and such which made it easier to understand the foreign languages. Pack? No, he had no pack. He had been looking for one to join but so far he had been lacking success due to his native tongue not being the common one of the land. He drew in a deep breathe as he softly responded by shaking his head. "No pack." He had said confidently as he had repeated it in his head several times. He hoped that made sense as he had no real knowledge in English grammar either, which could make things very difficult for him. He wasn't trying to rile anyone, but most of the time others were riled by what he said and thought that he was just messing with them.

The scent of rabbit was on the horizon and so he pursued it, planning on offering the lady a gift for the troubles she was going through to understand him. He had carefully pushed toward towards the rabbit's nest before carefully stalking it while downwind from it. He kept his paws light on the ground before rushing forward with a blast of speed and powering into a leap in which he landed on top of the rabbit. He killed it and brought it back, the dead prey in his jaws as he placed it before the female as an offering and stepped back away from her with a curious look. How would she react to it? Would she like it? What other questions did she have? All the questions he had flooded into his head but would never reach his throat, let alone his tongue. Did she really just want to know what pack he belonged to?

Ugh, I can't get over how soft Kass looks in his table and av. I just want to hug him!

Well she shouldn't have expected more from him- she couldn't use full sentences from him and shouldn't have expected a more detailed answer in return. He didn't look too forlorn when he said the words, though, so she assumed he was fairly comfortable being on his own. She struggled to find something else to say- she'd originally planned on asking about family- that was a simple word to- but she decided against it for the moment. If he didn't have a pack, he probably didn't have a family around here. There was always a reason a wolf left their family, and not all wolves really wanted to talk about it.

She was surprised when he suddenly stood and began to walk away, and opened her mouth to say something when she saw him lower his head and began to sniff the ground. Her ears flicked forward and she scanned the horizon for any sign of life, and had begun to tail along behind him when she caught sight of the rabbit. The hunter in her made her tuck herself closer to the ground into a stalking pose, but Kassander was already on it. The ungrateful thief in her considered shooting past him to catch the rabbit herself- but she didn't. This was a young fellow- somewhere around Gent's age, she assumed- and he was on his own. Besides that, he was larger than she and following her incident with Maksim, she wouldn't be so willing to fight a wolf who was larger than her- or a male- so soon.

Obediently, though, he brought the rabbit back to her. He gave her an unsure look, as though he was looking for some sort of reaction from her and all he got for a moment or two was blatant surprise. She'd done nothing for him, but she supposed perhaps that he simply sensed that she was of a higher rank, given that she was a pack wolf and she was older. Her features softened. "You're kind," She said quietly, and looked down at the rabbit, feeling almost disappointed in herself. She was greedy; she'd stolen from lesser wolves in the past, and had lied to get a meal from others before as well. She set her jaw and stepped back from the rabbit. "It's yours." She said, tone firm. "Thank you, but...I have a pack. I'll be alright." She said. Though winter had drawn to a close and spring had begun to shine, the prey situation was almost as dire as it had been in the depths of winter. She couldn't take food from someone who didn't have a home.

-Dies- I love Saga's table 'cause it also makes her look fluffy!! <3

The yearling was confused when she refused his gift, stating something about she pack and fine. He tried to piece it together and he found her saying she had a pack and she'd be fine. However Kassander was not convinced and he sat there with a stubborn expression. She would take his gift or he would be deeply offended. He stood up and pushed it towards her again before backing up and sitting down. He wasn't going to take no for an answer. The prey was due to be returning soon {at least he hoped} and Kass would find himself a pack soon enough. He would be fine too. His light amber eyes fell upon the rabbit and then the female, though he dared not look her in the eyes as that, as he knew, would be highly disrespectful.

He tried more words, confident as he repeated them over and over in his head. "I will be fine too." Through slow words and careful pronunciation he had said a complete sentence!!! The shock was evident on his face when he said it. He was doing it, learning, picking up on small words! Yes! He had said a sentence. He was learning and that overjoyed him. He gave his soft and rather fluffy tail a wag and a smile shown on his muzzle. He was proud of himself, indeed he was. YA mogu eto sdelat'! YA prosto dokazal, chto ya mogu!! He told himself with determination as he waited for her to take his gift. The prey would hopefully be returning soon and it would be a great thing too, he'd find another rabbit.

"Take food." He encouraged with a soft smile on his face. He wanted her to have it.

OKLAWL THIS IS OFFICIALLY THE SEXY TABLE THREAD *hi-fives*

She felt somewhat uncomfortable when he looked at her for a moment and then pushed the food toward her. She wanted to back up and get further away from the meal that was offered, but there was a conviction in his eyes- though he didn't lift them to meet hers directly- that made him seem all the more adamant that she take the food. He seemed convinced that she should have it, though there was no reason for him to be so kind. Had he looked somewhat reluctant or as though he felt obliged to feed her, she would have had an easier time refusing him, but there was something earnest about his offering and stubbornness.

When he spoke, albeit slowly, it was in the form of a full sentence and she had to smile when she saw how surprised he was. She laughed softly when a look of complete victory came to his features and she nodded, thumping her tail on the ground softly as though to applaud him. She found his positive attitude contagious, and in that moment she was able to forget about her woes and finally moved forward to claim the rabbit. "Alright, you're right," She said with a nod, and made short work of the rabbit. She only realized how hungry she was when she started eating, and it took her less than a minute to wolf the small meal down before she sat, licking her lips. "Thank you," She said, lowering her head to show her gratitude. "You're very kind."

Somehow, that felt inadequate, but she hoped it would please him. He was indeed very thoughtful and respectful, but wondered, still, if Hollowheart Keep was a good fit for him. The wolves of the Keep were ruthless, and she wouldn't want to see his positive and charitable attitude ruined. She wanted to invite him to come visit the pack with her- but knew that it was not a good idea. They were supposed to be secretive, and she still felt fairly certain that Kassander was perhaps too soft-hearted to be happy with them. "I'm looking for my son," She said, finally returning to the point she'd wanted to make earlier. "He is lost."

The sexiness cannot be contained!

Kass smiled a bit when she agreed to take his offering. The other wolf devoured the meal and he sat on his rump with a small smile. She said he was alright, a word he had heard but never in that context before. It was still a good sign to him though and his grin only grew. The yearling listened to her sentence and his tail stopped wagging. Son missing? Her child was missing and that made him sad. She seemed like a nice wolf and no mother should ever have to be put through worries like that. He pulled out one of the more complex English words he had heard and learned the meaning of in hopes of being able to help but fearing that he would not be able to.

"Appearance." What he said was a statement but he meant it as a question. He had seen many wolves around and perhaps one was her son. He had never run into any pups or Mercy but he, at that point in time, didn't know anything about her son. For all he knew her son could be 2 years old and a pack leader. He needed more information from her and hopefully he would be able to help. He hated not knowing things and not knowing where her son was or if he was safe was included. If he had found out his arch enemy was missing it would even drive him crazy because he didn't know and he was a wolf of knowledge and learning. She didn't need to know his reasons for wanting to help, only that he would be willing to. "Name." He included as a statement he meant as a question. That word was one of the few he could say properly without going over it in his head first.

The concern Kassander showed, as soon as she admitted that her son was missing, was tangible. She was surprised to hear that he knew a word like 'appearance,' but was pleased all the same. It meant that he was interested in keeping an eye open for him, and this was much appreciated. She told herself, then, that she would have to find Kassander again to thank him, bring him something to eat as a sort of token of her appreciation, even if he didn't manage to find her son. She already owed him for the meal and for distracting her from her sadness, for putting a smile back on her features which had been grim for so long.

"Exactly like me," She said. "Grey, black; he has blue eyes," She said, speaking slowly and clearly so that he could understand. She knew that if he wanted to learn English, proper English would have to be spoken to him, but it was more important right now that he understand what she was saying than that she teach him a few new words. "Almost one year old," She added, remembering that age was also a factor. This was spoken with a tinge of regret; she knew that his age would also be a factor in his survival, if he'd even lived this long. He also asked for her son's name and she heaved a small sigh. "Mercy." She said. Neither of them had a surname, so she had no way of specifying that. And though she knew they weren't to give away their location, she had to give him some direction, should he find her son. "We live in the North," She said, hoping he would understand what that meant.

Shall we round out this sexy table thread?

Kass listened as she explained his name was Mercy and how he looked like her. He was starting to get pretty decent at the whole understanding English thing. He nodded with a small smile as he spoke another full sentence that he repeated in his head until he knew he could get it right. "I will look now. Goodbye. Thanks." He said with a dip of his head before he sped off, sniffing the ground for any traces of the lost son that the mother was looking for. He had no idea what it was like to lose a child or a son because he did not have any children and he had left before his younger siblings were even born. A small sigh as he continued forth on his mission.

Tak smes' serogo smeshivayetsya s yantarnymi glazami. Svoyego roda pushistyye yesli by ya mog skazat' tak samostoyatel'no, a takzhe mal'chik. Yego zovut Miloserdiye i ne bylo nikakoy familiya. Eto budet veselo. Ne tak li? He thought to himself as he searched the ground. His mind wandered back briefly towards his abusive family as he wondered how they were. How was Raisa and Baldur? Were they still alphas? Were they even still alive? Did they have more children? How were his nieces and nephew? He did not regret leaving, not at all, but he couldn't help but thing of them. Perhaps his heart was too soft. He wondered how his nice brother was doing. How was Sif? Was he alright and was he still there?

Sif had been the only one to truly understand him. Sif had helped him leave.

She felt somewhat surprised when he immediately pledged to look for her son, and stood up, somewhat bewildered when he abruptly said his goodbye, and whirled on his nimble heels before he was off. She couldn't even get a word out; perhaps she had misjudged him. If he was this willing to serve, he might have done well in Hollowheart Keep. He didn't seem reluctant at all to help her- in fact, it seemed as though he took the role on as a duty, and he was certainly eager to fulfill it. She watched him go wordlessly, marvelling at the kindness of a complete stranger- one with whom she hadn't even had a complete conversation. It struck her, then, in an odd moment of epiphany, that not all wolves were like her; not all simply wanted to take and give nothing back. It seemed like this young wolf was exactly the opposite- one who on impulse helped others without thinking about themselves.

This being said, while she was slightly inspired, she knew that this was not the sort of life she could pursue. She felt indebted to the loyal young male, and would do her best to seek him out again if she could, so she could repay him in a very rare show of gratitude. Sagacity did not like owing debts to wolves, certainly ones who weren't of her pack. But if she could find him again, she thought she might try and see if he would suit the Keep; she wouldn't have minded having him around, certainly not if he was so willing to please. Touched, she turned and headed back to Hollowheart Keep, still somewhat in disbelief.
