Sorya Archer
@Adelaide - Kinda suck starter - A challenge for III. Subordinate

The Archer woman knew that she wanted two things out of Willow Ridge. One of them was to be an official guardian to protect the pack and the other was to be right below her sister, an ever faithful woman to the family name but a high ranking one at that. She drew a breathe as she stood towards the center of the territory but still a little ways from the pack den. She had seen the woman above her at the pup introduction and Sorya was confident that she could take her. She just hoped she was not underestimating the woman. She called for the female, the howl being evidently tense but not aggressive. She wanted her rank and she'd do anything to get it.

She reminded herself why she was in Willow Ridge. She was reminded about how she was an Archer. There were plenty of Archers or Archer relations in the pack. In fact there were ten out of fifteen wolves in Willow Ridge that were part of the Archer family, including Angier who was mated to Elettra. It made her more determined as she prepared herself for a fight. She doubted another wolf would merely give up their rank, but Ria tended to have quite a different view of violence and holding your ground than other wolves did. Nevertheless the black pleted, grey muzzled female talked to herself. Her haunches were raised and her head lowered, her scruff scrunched up to protect her vitals. She was just setting her defenses for the show. The real fight.

Adelaide Belrose

Adelaide was not certain why she thought she may be immune to a challenge of rank. Her rank, cozy below the place of Second, made her feel important. It fueled her existence in that she might gain the trust of her superiors, come to be considered a member of their family. Of course, she had never been one to think much about rank. Her birthpack had established such ranks, but it had been her home, and no one dared to challenge the quiet and kind princess. They were happy below her. But this was not the place she had been born, and she was not immune to a fight. Though such things were not her forte, Adelaide trusted her instincts would serve her well when the call rang out. It had been inevitable. She had seen the young woman when the pups had left the den. She was hardly much larger than Adelaide was, though from the call she released, ambition was something she had a few more ticks of than Addie. But she had been here longer, and Adelaide would not let blood bonds prove stronger than loyalty.

Head held high, tail curled over her back, she answered the call. Legs carried her easily through the willows, past her healing den, towards the warren that the Ridge wolves called home. She was greeted by the challenger, already ready for a fight. Adelaide held her offensive stance for but a moment, a quiet threat, a final chance to back down, before she let her tail fall between her legs, protecting herself. Her ears twisted back, another precaution, and her chin tucked. Dark lips drew back, exposing her yellowed teeth. Her shoulders shifted, scrunching up her ruff along her spine. Her muscles tensed beneath fur and flesh, and she waited.

Sorya Archer

The look-alike Archer woman had prepped herself fully as the woman arrived. She did not have to wait long it seemed as the woman was punctual. Sorya took the pause as a right to attack as she was given one last chance to back down. No way, she would not give up what she saw as her rite. The woman set her defenses and Sorya took that as an opportunity to launch. She lunged to the left of the woman who had found her way to be above Sorya (although Adelaide had been there first either way) and aimed to snap at her back left leg with a quick but intense bite near her upper thigh. Sorya had a strategy that wasn't really a strategy for the fight.

After the attack Sorya would set her defenses with preparation for evasive actions if it came to that. It would be a tough fight, or maybe it wouldn't. Perhaps Adelaide could easily overpower Sorya. Perhaps Sorya could easily overpower Adelaide. The true answer was unknown to the woman but she did know she had to determination to carry out the fight to the end. The woman had turned herself to face the woman she was fighting for rank, Adelaide. Her eyes burned with determination and anticipation as she tensed. Her hackles rose and her haunches raised. Her fur bristled the slightest bit along her spine.

Who would win and who would tuck there tail? They would soon find out it seemed to her.

Adelaide Belrose

Her silent offer was refused, and so all Adelaide could do was wait out the attack. The dark female was fast, and though Adelaide made her move to get out of the way of her teeth, the daggers met flesh, and Adelaide yelped. The sound she emitted was cut off quickly, however, replaced with an angry snarl. Her heart beat astoundingly fast in her chest, fear attempting to overcome instinct, the instinct to fight back, to defend herself. Sorya did not hold on long, however, and in time, they were facing off again. Her jaws parted slightly and her tongue was just visible past her teeth as she seethed at her enemy. With a quick reset of her own defenses, and practically oblivious to the injury she had sustained, thank heavens for adrenaline, Adelaide launched herself forward, a thin trail of blood following as she flew across the grass.

Making a short arc around the woman, she quickly shifted direction to headbutt her in the side, hoping to knock Sorya off of her feet. With as much might as she could muster, she followed through, refusing to be stopped short. Adelaide kept one shoulder hunched, the shoulder facing her opponent, on the off-chance she attempted to swing about and snap at the side of Adelaide's face. In order to headbutt Sorya, she kept her head ducked, ears still flat, continuously ensuring the protection of her throat. The quiet tinglings of pain from behind her only fueled her fire in the hopes of erasing the pain just that much longer.

wow this reply is rambly and horrible.

Sorya Archer
@Adelaide

The woman reset all of her defenses to what they had originally been at to protect herself, mainly her vitals. Her eyes narrowed the slightest bit as the woman launched at her, the sight of the blood trail made the Archer woman the slightest bit. The other woman headbutted Sorya and tried to knock her off her feet but at the last moment the wolf dug her paws and claws into the ground as she barely managed to stay standing from the impact. She gritted her teeth, knowing that the attack would leave bruises on her left torso by the top of her front left leg. Her stormy grey eyes hid her emotions as she was not one to put her heart out on her sleeve.

Her grey muzzle held the slightest snarled scowl as she prepared her attack. She turned to face the enemy before launching back at her, attempting to push her down to the ground with a muzzle grab. Her eyes were focused purely on the woman before her, Adelaide. Her tail was wavering from side to side in a fast motion, as if she was aggravated that she had not yet won the fight. The woman was a decent fighter, Sorya would give her that much. However the Archer woman was not known to think highly of the lower class. She still saw herself as a princess, a member of the aristocrats and an heir to Torbine, if not a heir close to getting the throne. She wanted the rank right below her sister to prove it all, but she had to get through two wolves to do it.

Adelaide Belrose

Adelaide withdrew immediately when her opponent did not fall. It was somewhat discouraging, but she knew that her attack had done some amount of damage to her foe. She felt hyperactive, and though her own body ought to have been sore, she felt...Alive. It was strange, but exciting. Her fur had puffed out around her, as she backed away quickly. Her ears turned back, chin tucked, tail fell between her legs as she swayed from side-to-side, prepared to evade an attack if she could. Her tongue darted out from between exposed teeth, and the scent of blood filled her senses, reminding her of the goal.

Any scars that she'd been given in her life had been small, inconsequential. The more meaningful ones could not be seen and that was exactly how he'd wanted it. But she looked upon this woman who challenged her as an honorable sort. They were packmates, family, though Adelaide had hardly exchanged words with her. But she would wear the scars she was given with pride, that she had fought with all that she could for what she deserved. For what she had earned. Adelaide flinched back as Sorya made for her muzzle. Teeth scrapped through flesh and against bone. She kept herself from making a pained sound. Respecting her opponent, Adelaide did not want to give her any satisfaction. Deciding that a little extra pain was worth wrenching free of the woman's grasp, Adelaide reared back, feeling her skin tear away. That would leave a very unpleasant mark. As she filed herself back into place again, the woman snorted, sending droplets of the blood that was curtaining over her nose into the grass.

With a feign to the right, she launched herself left, attempting to muzzle Sorya now. Even if the woman pulled the same stunt she did, they might share lovely matching scars.

Sorya Archer

The tearing at the other woman's muzzle was of little comfort to the Archer 'princess' (not in Willow Ridge but from Torbine's standards) felt the enemy escape her clutches. She drew a deep breathe as she prepared for some kind of counter attack to be launched in retaliation. She did not know the woman, however it was quite obvious they would fight until one of them submitted but they were both determined to win. It would be interesting to say the least.

The Archer lady thought a little higher of her opponent because she kept fighting when Sorya thought it was obvious that she would win. Needless to say, Sorya was a little cocky when it came to fights in general. The woman would try to copy her and take a hold of her muzzle but seemed to pull a facade where she would go left but move right. It confused Sorya for a millisecond, but the millisecond was her time she needed to successfully avert it. The woman grabbed at her muzzle and Sorya immediately tried to pull away as the woman had before. The tearing soft but enough for her to have slight bloodshed. With that, Sorya felt small drops fall as she hissed slightly. It was her turn.

She would launched herself to snap at the woman's front right leg again with a quick and sharp bite. She wanted to win this more than anything before. She felt that she still needed to prove herself and somehow the challenge would do this fir her.

(gonna make this a quick fade-out, cause my muse is tired today sorry ;;)

Though her attempt had been successful, it had not been so damaging as Sorya's own had been. In addition, Adelaide felt herself becoming lightheaded. The medic in her brain warned her to stop. It honestly wasn't worth it. Certainly it was a little disheartening to lose to someone you hardly knew; what a great first impression, indeed. But there was no point in bleeding to death over it. Attempting to withdraw was not successful as the darker woman's teeth met with her leg and threw Adelaide just off-balance. She had not the energy to cry out in pain and the fall she took finally knocked her unconscious. The darkness was rather discordant at first, her adrenaline finally dying off and her mind was suddenly sending out waves of pain in all directions. But eventually she felt some semblance of peace as one would when they sleep. If she had not been so unlucky, perhaps she might've helped Sorya with her wounds, but now she could not even help her own.

Sorya Archer

The woman passed out before her eyes and Sorya felt blithesome but also felt some dismay. Perhaps she should try to patch up the woman's wounds. She knew how to do that at the very least as she had been trained as an Archer of Torbine how to heal the basic wounds. Xetor was the one who knew post. Sorya called for him, hoping perhaps he could help them both and Sorya wondered what it was that finally made her pass out, resulting in Sorya as the champion of the battle. She herself started off towards the borders, hoping to find something to patch herself up with. A small sense of victory as she raised her tail high in dominance and pride until Angier or Elettra or Senka or Lunas should arrive to knock her off her high horse or something.

She could feel it, she was just one step away from her goal.
