Ash Hervok
@Falcon

His mind was still racing, as well as his ever consistent pulse. Ever since Athena had come into the pack, Ash felt like he once again had a constant to look towards, but he knew Whisper Caverns certainly would have no tolerance to his temper, and neither would his partner, Narimé. Ash had no other way to feel like venting then to just get out and run away from the whole mess that he called leadership. Ever since his dearest Namara had left him in the dust, he once again felt like a shell of what he formally was. No one had been able to do that to him before, except for Treena, and now the two girls who liked alike were gone from his heart and no longer allowed to return. He wished for an explanation, for anything that would give him a clue as to why they had left him. Surely, Namara was dead, due to the blizzard...but Treena? He had gotten no hint as to what had happened to her. She definitely hadn't fallen off the mountain, Ash and the others would have been able to track her then. His heartache just never seemed to be enough. The stars seemed to want to punish him, always, no matter how much he was going through.

Even Finn had once again disappeared and it was then that the Hervok knew that his love life was literally fucked. There was no way he would be able to let anyone back into his heart again, there was just no way that he would be able to mentally handle it. He truly had been driven to madness, and it was why he had told Nari of his leave for a day or so, in order to clear his head and be able to know what he truly wanted. Hell, if he was able to, he might even beat the shit out of something, or someone. Either way worked for him, as long as he got all of this pent up frustration out of him. When he looked at his reflection he no longer knew who he was looking at. He had such a strong pride about him when he had first come here and he had hoped that it would not have changed. But it seemed that it had started with the rude degrading of his poor sister, whom he had come to adore. And everything had gone downhill from there. He had fallen in love, then become alpha...and now...now he was alpha once again and had already made an enemy to the family that he was trying to defend. As he sat down near the Creek, he stared into his own mossy green eyes, a light with an old angry fire that seemed to have never died.

Oh, boy...She made a mistake!

She loved the trees here! Even the terrain was more open and Falcon found herself gazing up at the sky wistfully. The tawny female had left her brother behind again in lieu of a good run. Though she already had a fairly full belly from a successful hunt earlier in the morning, Falcon couldn't stop herself from snapping and yipping and chasing after every prey animal that presented itself in her path. It was such a good day, she decided. The air felt clean and the scent of the nearby creek invited her closer.

While prey seemed easy enough for herself and Jackdaw to find, water was a bit more of a challenge. Of course, the siblings were a bit spoiled in that regard. In their previous homelands with their birth pack, a great crater of a lake was constantly supplied with water in the basin of a jagged mountain near their den. The pair had a harder time hunting it down in the midst of thick forest where the sky wasn't always available to serve as a guide.

But here! Here, there was water and air and sky a plenty! The trees were sparser, but plentiful enough to provide shade and cover for any looking for it. Falcon couldn't get enough. The playful she-wolf even started to chase after dancing leaves like a silly spring pup with the lightness she felt today. Her steps were fleet and free, her expression positively serene. Not that Falcon was known for being broody. She tended to stay light of heart and sound of mind in most situations.

The she-wolf slowed, her nose twitching. She could hear the bubbling of the creek over river rocks, but it wasn't the nearby water that had her approaching more slowly. She recognized this scent. It had her tail wagging happily, but Falcon grinned with mischief. Wouldn't Titan be surprised to see her!

Her paws spread daintily over the relatively smooth terrain, granting her silence in her approach. It took all of Falcon's effort not to snicker and give herself away. He was near enough yet that she could practically hear him breathing, even if she couldn't yet see him. To stop herself from imagining his face, the she-wolf squeezed her eyes shut and raced at the male who was not at all who she thought he was. She barked a laugh right before pouncing on her unsuspecting victim, but immediately realized her horrifying mistake when she opened her eyes to see brown fur rather than black. The scent, now that she is analyzing it, is certainly different from Titan's, but carries the same that deems this a pack member.

Oh, no!

The she-wolf let herself roll away, carried by her momentum and whimpers in apology. "I'm sorry! So sorry! I thought you were someone else!" she stammered quickly, hoping to appease the poor stranger to avoid any ill will.

Ash Hervok

He had been expecting to be alone and to be able to wallow in his self pity in peace. He was utterly, and quite unpleasantly, surprised to be bummed into from behind. Not even taking time to process the girl's words, Ash whirled around, carelessly exposing his sharp teeth to her to make himself seem much more intimidating as he rose to his full height. Glaring down at the girl he growled lowly, his mossy green eyes taking her in closely. What was it that she had said? Something about him looking like someone else? Highly unlikely. He was one of a kind and he had never meet anyone who had quite the same eye color as himself, or even the same build. His sister had similarly slanted eyes, but she was much smaller than him and she had a different pelt color....and she was female.

He huffed in aggravation as he stood over the girl, his voice coming out in a harsh growl when he spoke, "And who is it that you thought I was, girl?" He pinned his eyes onto her form, ready to grab her and keep her still should she try to escape his questioning. He wished to get much of this cleared up so it would not happen again and she would not so carelessly jump bump into people. It was stupid and childish. And the woman in front of him was definitely not a child, though she did look young. His tail flicked furiously above his back as he awaited her answer, not wishing to be kept much longer, for there were duties to look to...to keep his mind off of them.

He was truly crushed by those who had left him. It seemed whenever he offered his heart out to anyone, they easily left him, and it made him hurt...which led to the anger he was so willingly expressing right then. At one time it would have been his subordinates who would have gotten his wrath, but now...he knew that he needed them more than ever, and Narimé would not have appreciated it if he would have unleashed his anger on anyone...even if he had thought, more than once, that Athena's new mate could have easily been his new punching bag. Unfortunately, he knew that this would also upset his former love, and so he stayed away...and now this poor girl in front of him would have to be victim and suffer through his anger.

the ghosts of cedarwood forest know my name

Oh, my goodness. I feel like my writing is everywhere and so disjointed! Forgive me!

The harshness of the male's gaze nearly rendered Falcon mute. The female cowered on the ground, her front paws curled close to her body as she began to roll for the male to placate him. There was no doubt in her mind now the level of mistake she had made. Not only had she not body checked Titan, but she had apparently done so to his Alpha instead! The way he held himself and his pungent scent left no room for doubt. This was the Whisper Caverns Alpha.

Falcon could have bitten herself for her stupidity! Any good relation she could have had with the pack was shot now. She whined softly, licking her lips anxiously. "I'm so very sorry, sir. I thought you were Titan. I wasn't looking and just—your scent," she explained. "I'm sorry. I met him a few days ago. I misinterpreted your scent and got too excited. Forgive me," she begged, shimmying closer along the ground in the hopes of licking his chin to prove she meant every word she said.

She was used to being the lowest ranking. Well used to a fearsome Alpha who hadn't a lick of conscience when it came to meriting out punishments, Falcon was ready to accept whatever this one decided she deserved. Unlike Jackdaw, she wasn't one to fight back or argue.

Falcon had hoped... Well, she enjoyed Titan's company! He was a sweet youngster and well worth the energy expended in play. The way the dark male had described his pack made it sound friendly and loving. Perhaps that was true for those considered pack, but not so for loners.

Ash Hervok

He watched the girl cower beneath him, his mossy green gazed pinned to her small form. He was angry and usually when he was angry there was nothing that could stop him from losing his temper. When she spoke a growl resonated through his chest. Her answer did not please him and he almost snapped at her when she approached him, but it was only to give him a submissive lick to his chin. Huffing slightly, he opened his jaws to speak, "I look nothing like him. You should pay more attention to what you're doing, child." It was his final word that finally kicked some sense into his tormented brain. She was, after all, just a child, and his own childhood was what made him so harsh with others. But, then, he would remember his sweet little Belladonna, and he would recall how she would get a little bit more energy into her step when he had been around. That was what children did, and Ash had to remind himself what childhood was suppose to be like.

To try and amend himself for his rude behavior, he stood and walked away from the small girl, his jaws parting again so that he would be able to speak without a bite in his speech. "Titan is a good boy. How did you meet him?" His tail flicked irritably behind him waiting for the girl's answer, if she even had the guts to stay. He did not bother turning back around to look at the girl. He had probably scared her enough all ready and it would not do her any good to have her scared out of her whits due to something that he had done earlier.

OOC here!

Falcon trembled under his harsh gaze. Waiting for punishment was agony; even worse than receiving punishment! But no physical correction came. Only snapped words that were clipped and fresh with annoyance. She didn't want to breathe a sigh of relief just yet. There was every possibility that the Alpha was biding his time and gauging her reaction to really nail her. Falcon hadn't been raised amongst honorable wolves and had come to expect the worst from them, though she always hoped for the best.

When the male walked a few paces away, she did breathe a sigh of relief. A simple, normal question allowed her to relax a bit more, though Falcon continued to show submissive posture for him. "Oh, I met Titan while hunting, sir."

Falcon smiled gently, but it was plain to see the anxious stress in the lines of her face if he only turned around. "I caught a rabbit for my brother right in front of him. Would have run into him if I hadn't caught it at the right time..." Oh, that made her sound like a klutz; like she was constantly running into strange wolves. That wasn't true at all, but she certainly wasn't making a good case for herself.

"He was very kind. We played for a while. A running game," Falcon explained, eyes distant with the happy memory. Thinking of Titan had the she-wolf settling more comfortably on the ground. She was prepared to roll and expose her belly and throat at the first sign of aggression, but felt somewhat sure in that the Alpha was remaining relatively calm for her sake. "He's a very loyal wolf," she complimented, hoping to assure the male that Titan wasn't the kind to abandon his pack mates and leave without word. At least, that was how he struck her. It was a very admirable trait and the Alpha should be proud!

Ash Hervok

He remained facing away from the woman, trying to reign in his temper and keep himself under control. The girl, although had mistaken him, had only been trying to play when she had thought he was someone else. He needed to remember how Belladonna had been when she was younger. Hadn't he too been lighthearted enough to play with her at that time? How easy the days use to be. He clamped his lips shut though, remaining still as she spoke. The girl seemed unsure of herself, though Ash couldn't blame her. He was an intimidating man, and unfortunately for her, she had caught him at one of the worst of times. And as the brute listened, even she admitted that she had been playing a game with the young lad. Biting the side of his mouth at the admittance, he turned his head sharply towards her when she complimented the boy, his mossy green gaze narrowing slightly.

Huffing softly, the brown man considered her words, his eyes blinking before he finally answered. "Thank you. He is my charge and prince of the pack, so I would hope it would remain that way." His tail flicked behind him in slight irritation. It still gave nothing away to Ash though. Titan and him were still completely different wolves, to the eye and in their build. He was not even the boy's father, and it managed to make his temper rise once again when he realized why he was even alpha. It was because, yet another male had betrayed a woman and let her to fend off on her own with her children.

OOC here!

His subtle show of annoyance was completely missed by Falcon. Though she was usually quite observant, the she-wolf was easily distracted by other things. Back in her birth pack, it was often how she got into trouble. Poor moods were missed by her, for she always tried to remain light-hearted. Of course, the majority of her birth pack was almost always in a bad mood. They had a strange need to squish out her light, though she only rarely succumbed to morose feelings.

Currently, she was pondering if this surly, stoic male ever played. He didn't seem the type, but surely everyone played some time! Life was far too serious, in Falcon's opinion, to not play. And boring! Who wanted to stand around being responsible all the time? Certainly not her. It was just another reason why she was well suited as Omega. She offered no threat to pack members, and helped lighten the atmosphere in times of tension. Sure, it made herself a target, but with noble enough wolves, it also pulled out an instinctive protective instinct. A submissive wolf wouldn't fight for food, for station, for status. She would do her part and be happy with what she had.

In truth, it was a gift; not like the wolves who were forced to be submissive due to multiple mistakes and unwelcome fights. Falcon thought those wolves untrustworthy and incredibly frightening. Whenever such happened in her old pack, the she-wolf steered as far clear as possible. They didn't take kindly to being lower even than her in hierarchy.

"I'm Falcon, by the way." The tawny female wagged her tail in friendly greeting, her head dropping down to rest on her paws. "Despite the circumstances, it is nice to meet you. I wondered what Titan's family was like."

Ash Hervok

The large brute remained silent, looking over the clearing in irritation. Many of the woman within the lore didn't deserve what they had been offered, and he found that they often deserved much more. Of all the women that he had encountered, most of them ended up lonely, and they certainly should have had better. Most of the women he knew often had to raise their children on their own, and if they were lucky, Ash would end up being in the pack and tag along for the ride. It had even happened with his sister, for both of her litters, both sired by different men, and each leaving her while she had begun to take care of her children. He huffed at this, his mossy green eyes narrowing as such thoughts entered his mind. But they were interrupted when the girl behind him. His body snapped around quickly to look at her, his gaze piercing her eyes.

Had they truly not introduced themselves yet? The answer to his question was obvious though, he had been being too much of an ass to even introduce himself to the girl in front of him, which probably made him look even worse than he had already been. Before he even got a chance to speak though, Falcon spoke again and Ash bit down on his cheek in thought. Were they truly a family? Minka had shattered such a thought in Ash's brain when she had turned traitor and brought along a member within the pack with them, which ended up threatening the bonds within the pack and tarnishing many relationships. Finally, breaking himself out of his own mind, he spoke, "I must apologize for my brashness, you just caught me at a bad time. I am Ash Hervok. I do find I must ask for your forgiveness." He stared at her, his ears flicking forward in waiting for an answer.
