The silence was bitter, and her single eye remained upon Miccah's back with a cold glare, her gaze moving towards Mirren's for a moment, trying to reassess her own appearance. When the fop finished what he was saying, she was once again drawn from her thoughts when questions were thrown her way. She looked between her two Scouts, amused at how they seemed to be the only ones with questions, but she said nothing out loud, choosing to address Vaeta's question first. So clearing her throat, she spoke forwardly, ”We still have the meadows here and there in the thickets, but when we go out, we will stick to the area closer to Willow Ridge and Whisper Caverns when it comes to traveling, and then if we must, we will hunt in Secluded Springs. Mirren...I expect you know that area well, and I would like you to bring Vaeta with you to scope out the area again, thank you.”
Her attention then shifted towards Kite, her expression thoughtful. As a Healer it was no need of her to promote violence, but if they were being threatened, then they would need to protect themselves. And so, without much other thought, she spoke before Miccah could decide to go otherwise, ”I find that the only time that you should attack on sight is if he is close to our lands, or if he provokes or attacks you.” She remained silent then, waiting for any other questions and when none came, she gave a polite firm nod to her pack mates, ”Very well, this meeting is dismissed. Thank you all for attendance. Get some rest and continue on with what you wish to do.” She then removed herself from the pack, her gaze beckoning for her children to follow her before she disappeared within the shadows of the thickets.
He listened patiently, his small ears taking in every word that dropped off his mother’s tongue. She introduced him and his brothers, causing Unitas to shuffle uncomfortably under the gaze of the pack. Although nervous to be around so many wolves at once, Unitas was also excited to get to know the wolves that loyally followed his mother. He knew that his mother was great, but why did these other wolves feel the same way? What had made them decided to join his mother’s pack and follow under her rule? Questions swarmed his small mind as his mother continued to speak, distracting the small child from the purpose of the meeting. She went on to describe the relationship between the Woodlands and the neighbouring packs, causing even more questions to surface. How many wolves were there outside Secret Woodlands?! Was he ever going to meet all of them?!
There were a few questions asked by the wolves in the crowd, but Unitas was only half-listening. There was so much talking and not enough playing! His paws itched to lurch forward and wrestle with his brothers, but he remained where he was. The last thing he wanted was to be scolded by his mother in front of all these wolves! How embarrassing! Just as the thought left his mind his mother began to wrap up the meeting, dismissing the pack. His denim-blue eyes glanced up at his mother as she motioned for him, and his brothers, to follow. His tail wagged excitedly as he scrambled to his paws; maybe he would get some playtime after all! Following dutifully behind his mother, Unitas glanced back at his brothers with a mischievous gleam in his eyes. He was sure that they had been just as bored as he was during the meeting and that they were also in need of some wrestling.
speech He finished saying his piece and watched as some grew concerned and curious, asking questions left and right. He knew of this other pack of course, and he didnt like it one bit. Most stayed silent, letting the more talkative take the initiative. He too wanted to stay silent and as Nina answered, he was for once glad that she spoke. And surprisingly, he was in agreement with her words. The black alpha watched as Nina dismissed the meeting (again not even glancing his way or caring to know what he thought). He couldn't blame her though, for most of the time, he felt the same way towards her. He had once respected her and thought of her highly, but that was no more. His eyes slid to the children, a protective look in his eyes as they followed their mother. He didnt fool himself into thinking he was their father figure, but he cared for the little furballs. On his watch, he'd try his damn hardest not to let anything happen to them. Finally moving his deep blue gaze from the energetic children, his gaze roamed over his packmates. Letting his stony facade fall, a small smile graced his muzzle before the man too moved his large bulk and swiftly dissapeared into the shadows of his home with ease. Aiming to retreat back to the borders, Miccah already began planning out his various patrols, leaving his subordinates to their own devices. {Miccah exit} |

She had followed Pacem's entrance into the clearing. Watching with equal parts fondness and protectiveness as he ambled towards his mother. Then climbed onto her feet to ask a question Iopah could hear from her resting spot. Her laugh came out as a breathy exhalation. A sudden bump into her side pulled her attention away and to the side. She swiveled to search out her unexpected companion, the lines around her gold eyes sharp, and met Koda's easy grin. She huffed and relaxed back against him. More thicket wolves filtered in and Iopah watched the greetings, disquieted only by the actions of her alphas.
Her countenance shifted subtly at Nina's each point of information. A tender smile for the youngsters. A decisive ear flick in reaction to the new pack. Mention of Danica-- Crap. Why hadn't she said something to him? A low whine worked itself free from her jaws and she rested her muzzle against his neck in apology. The meeting continued, forcing Iopah's attention onward. She watched Nina and Miccah address each, saw their strangled attempt at civility. Her pale fur prickled in unease. This was not good. Their interaction was more concerning than all of the news she had heard. The reason for Anouke's disappearance was accepted with a solemn nod, along with the expectation of her responsibility if he should reappear.
When hunting was mentioned her head came up to attention, following Vaeta's question closely. There had never been scouts before. She'd done the scouting herself on the fly up until now. She was looking forward to the help of the two capable young women, especially since one of them was an unfamiliar face. She nodded at Nina's recommendation, it was much the same as the areas she frequented now, though she rarely went that far south. Ironically it was the farther pack (Hollowheart Keep) she tolerated better. On two separate occasions the packs had hunted together, and both parties were careful to not encroach on marked land.
The meeting broke up and Iopah simply reacted by stretching slightly, pushing against the figure at her side. She was perfectly content to listen to the other's conversation as everyone drifted away.
Next Nina awarded duties and the pale male felt his heart thump loudly in his chest, he would wear his title proudly and his responsibility to the pack would only grow stronger with this duty. He nodded in Nina's direction with a smile on his lips, grateful for the opportunity to serve as guardian, only once did he turned toward Mirren, his partner, and acknowledged the male with a nod of his square head. The two would be seeing a lot of each other, he only hoped that being lead guardian would not go to the younger male's head, if pack hierarchy needed to be pulled he would put the third ranking male back in his place. Miccah spoke next and his head jerked in his direction, a ear flicked backward at mention of one of their members being banned.The disappearance of their previous members had been but a memory to him, he could not remember the name of their last third ranked wolf, and their second, Anouke, was banned from returning and he wondered for a moment if he could remember what the wolf looked like.
He would not discredit Miccah for his concern over the Woodland members and took guarding his members seriously--as his duty called, he would do what he needed to in order to protect their borders. Those in attendance voiced their concern and Koda kept his silence, allowing his eyes to turn to Iopah, wondering what she thought of the situation, and when Nina dismissed the meeting shortly after he had the opportunity to ask her. "Anouke...have you spoke with him much?" it was a simple question, a way for him to gain information, and he lifted to his haunches to his full height to walk closer to her den where they could catch up without disturbance.
Nina's words served to calm the fire-pelted lass, as she mentioned the many hunting regions they still had. Aideen breathed a quiet sigh of relief, glancing in the direction of Iopah to see her reaction; to the newly appointed healer was surprised to see the huntress nestled against Koda - in her miserable state, she hadn't noticed their proximity when first arriving at the meeting - and a pang went through her heart, all around her, couples seemed to be forming, but now she was alone. No, I can't think like that! not anymore! Her time of wallow was over, she had a pack to care for now and Nina's trust to live up to; I won't fail! And @Coal ... Coal was history. She turned her copper eyes back to her leader, as she addressed the question about Anouke, nodding solemnly; she was no fighter and if she ever was so unfortunate as to run into the dark male somewhere off the land, she was quite sure she couldn't take him down, so knowing that the order to attack only applied close to the thicket made her calmer. Here she would have help. Her eyes drifted, from Miccah who was a guardian before he stepped up as leader, to Mirren, the new lead guardian who she knew little about, but who's size alone helped ease her mind, and lastly to Koda and his muscled form; with their protection she could feel safe, even with a monster like Anouke somewhere out there. Then Nina dismissed them, quickly disappearing into the thicket with her pups in tow. Aideen glanced at Miccah, concern in her eyes as she noticed his clear frostiness towards his co-leader; This is no good... But the dark man's face quickly lightened, and when he smiled at his subordinates, the reddish girl smiled back. Then he left as well, and she too stood, casting a last glance around at the gathered wolves before following in Nina's footprints; she would stop by the den to check if the mother and pups needed anything, and then she had some herb stashes that needed to be refilled. Patiently she awaited, her eyes of a bright honey hue darting between the various members of her pack and taking note that the only one with question other then herself was her newly sister-in-law at her side, both as scouts and both seeking out an understanding should certain situations arise. So they were to by pass hunting in the Blackberry Fields and Orchard all together now? It worried Vaeta thinking that they would have to move further south for food. For although Willow Ridge and Whisper Caverns were both allies to them, already they were in the south sharing hunting grounds. Not only, another pack was there, one Vaeta had yet to know of. The idea of going to the Springs, however, was much more pleasurable. Of course, they would have to cross near the Downs wolves in order to get to it...
None the less, the Tainn girl nods, moving her attention away from Nina and Miccah and on to that of her brother who remained close to the Lead Lady's side. She dips her muzzle to her brother, ready for the venture whenever he was ready and hopefully, it would be soon! After Kite's question had been answered the meeting quickly came to a closing. Vaeta lifted herself up on her long, lean limps though for the moment kept her placement at Kite's side. It was Kite and her brother within the pack that she obviously enjoyed spending most of her time with and so, remained until they decided to head on out.
