They walked for what seemed to be days. She said she wanted to take a detour to the "Falls". He agreed. He couldn't say no to those steel eyes that seemed to pierce his soul. He feared that they might actually pierce him if he had said no. As they came upon the steeping slopes, she took the lead and guided them to where she wanted to go. She at least knew where she was going in this place, unlike him. The thundering became louder and louder as they got closer to what Laurel called Bramble Falls. He could feel the pounding through the ground beneath his feet. The thought of going near that pounding water, however, made him nervous inside.

Ever since he was a pup, when he fell into the waters of the river near his home, he's always been a little apprehensive near water. If he could find water in a small puddle or small creek, he would, but he try's his best to stay away from rapid rivers or other large bodies of water when he could. Yelling up ahead, "I think I'm going to find us something to eat. I'll be back in a little while, okay?" His gaze lingered a little longer than it had to, but he wanted to make sure that she knew he was indeed coming back for her.

As he departed from the dark lady, he traveled along the rocky ridges, hoping for any signs of prey.

Don't mind Zia. She's still in quite the sour mood.
She needed to get away, if at least only for a little while. The Eastern region of Relic Lore had been her home ever since she came here. There was no other place she'd rather lay her head, in the comfort of the packs main den. She knew most of the area from memory alone. It was safe to say she felt in her element there. But that was no more. She no longer had a home, a pack to support her, or a den to rest in. Phineas had refused her, and she in turn, retaliated with a change of heart. She was a wolf of reason, of understanding...but only to a point. If someone couldn't see past a mistake based purely on emotions, then they were not the kind of wolf Zia wished to associate with. In the end, cutting her ties with all of Magnolia Glen had been her best option. Had she stayed, or been allowed to, she would've felt out of place under the new circumstances, surrounded by strangers.

Nearly a month had passed since that day, and Zia still found herself fuming. Her patience was at an all time low, her temper ready to break at even the slightest of things. Her blood boiled, hot and alive with raw, pure bitterness. She couldn't stand it on the Eastern side of the mountain...being there brought back too many memories. So, in an effort to cool off, to clear her head, she made the journey over the pass, and into the unfamiliar regions of the West. Here she would stay a few weeks, until she was ready to return. By then she could try and start fresh. Today she found herself by the falls, an area she had most certainly never visited before. While the great thundering of the water pouring down into the pool below was quite the relaxing sound, that wasn't what Zia was focused on at the moment. She had been minding her own business, lounging in the shade of a single tree, munching on the leftovers of squirrel when an inexperienced young fox had gotten a little too close. Her sharp azure eyes narrowed upon the russet creatures slender frame. Without any further warning, she sprung to her feet, leaving a cloud of dust behind her as she charged after the vermin. Normally, she would simply ignore the animal, knowing it wasn't a threat. But, being in the foul mood she was in, she took this opportunity to take out her anger on the critter. Barreling after it, a deep snarl in her throat, she didn't see the dark form of the other wolf, who she nearly crashed into.

Laurel Boughinn
She had been happy to return to the Falls- it was, after all, where Kato had planned on setting down roots for a pack- so it felt a little like home. Jaime had agreed to come with her, even though he had business to attend elsewhere. Coming towards the falls, Laurel was careful to keep a slow pace, considering her new companion hadn't been here before. However, the closer they got to the sound of the cascade, the more she wanted to bound straight into the water and simply flail around for awhile. She almost did, but Jaime's sudden excuse stopped her, leaving her ears to swing about in a confused manner. Didn't he know about fish? Didn't he want to swim, after such a long journey?

Laurel did believe that he would come back- his heavy blue gaze made sure that she did. It was okay with her- the dark female had wanted to sniff around the area anyway. She checked the cave that Kato shared with her a while ago, and then- once she was satisfied that it had been left untouched- her nose moved on. Many things had stayed the same, despite the lingering smells of other wolves. Laurel amused herself with a thought- who knew better where to find food here, than her? She hadn't stopped him though- partly out manners, and partly because she wanted to see what he could do.

The rocky ridges he departed along were observable from her distance, though Laurel had long since deemed them to dangerous for her clumsy paws to tread upon. She sat down to watch his receding figure when another one came barreling into sight, on a direct path of collision. Alarmed, she stood and shouted as loud as she could, for both wolves' sake- "Look out!"

The thundering that echoed in his ears distracted him from completely focusing on the hunt. As he put his nose to the ground to try to focus on the scent of anything that would be in the area, he noticed that the ground wasn't as hard and solid at it should be. Instead, the ground was moist beneath his paws ad if he stepped in the wrong spot, the ground would slide out from beneath his feet. He paused and wondered if he should turn back, but before he could officially decided what to do, a vicious snarl echoed around him and as he turned towards where the sound came from, it was too late. He was too late to hear Laurel scream out a warning to him and before he could realize what had ran into him, he was tumbling and falling with him was the mud and rocks that he was once standing upon.

Tobius could barely open his eyes to see where the mudslide was takin him, without the mud blinding him even more. When he was finally able to make out where this mudslide was taking him, he began to panic even more. He was headed straight towards the pool where the Bramble Falls rested. Quickly, he turned his back to the waters below him and tried to run out of the mud, but his efforts were useless. The mud clung to him like glue and kept him from escaping. Now that he knew there was no way out besides the water below him, he turned to see if Laurel was safe. He spotted his dark companion right in the path of the destruction. "LAUREL!!! MOVE!!!" he yelled out as loud as he could above the thundering. Before he could tell if he did what he said, he was falling head first into the cold, blue waters. That was when everything went black.

Zia Celencio
Let me know if anything needs to be changed!

The following moments were nothing but a confusing blur of frenzied movements. The red fox, which was unfortunate enough to be her victim, came charging down the muddied trail, tail tucked and chittering in protest. Ears back, eyes narrowed into slits, Zia was out for blood. What a perfect scapegoat to unleash her rage upon. So focused was she on her target, intent on grabbing it by the back of the neck, that she didn't even notice the other two wolves until the last second. She was like a silver bullet, racing down the war path in a mission of revenge. The bellowing cry of warning from the female snapped her lively blue eyes up only for a second. She backpedaled, or at least tried to. But even with her large paws and sharp nails for extra grip, the mud slicked path was just too slippery. Sliding forward she went, crashing heavily into the oncoming males body. She tried to twist her body to the side, so her left flank would absorb most of the impact.

It worked. Partially. The next thing she knew she was sent toppling over the larger wolfs frame in a confused, muddy tangle of limbs. The air was knocked right out of her lungs, and she immediately knew that her ribs would be a little sore for the next couple of days. She was half expecting to be pinned beneath his own weight, or even flung to the side with the force of the impact. But instead, it was he, not her, who was thrown off course. With a groan, she rolled up onto her paws again, shaking her head to clear away any dizziness. Her once sleek charcoal and platinum pelt was now splattered with dark, black mud. The fox was completely forgotten, and long gone by now. A great commotion of to the side, a sound of scrabbling paws and a struggling body immediately caught her attention. Rushing over to the ledge, Zia reached down in an attempt to grab the dark male by the scruff and pull him to safety. Yet she was too late. At the last second, he fell, her jaws snapping around nothing but air. With a mighty splash, he had hit the water. The drop was a good ways down, and it was questionable if even a strong wolf could survive it.

"Shit, shit shit!" She cursed to herself silently at the foreboding turn of events. If she hadn't been so reckless, so blinded by fury, then this horrible accident wouldn't have happened. But there was no changing that now...all she could do was try and fix it. Zia by nature, was a brave wolf, who had without hesitation, put her life on the line for her pack more than once. She wasn't so heartless as to let a stranger she didn't even know, clearly in need, perish. So it was with a most daring leap, that she launched herself off the edge, and into the pool below. The impact hit her hard, the cold water stinging her skin. But she paid it no mind, working her legs frantically as she swam, trying to locate the body of the dark male. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught a glimpse of black fur, and made a beeline for it. Her jaws clamped around his scruff, and with a tug, she lifted his head up out of the water. It was critical that his air supply wasn't cut off, as he was unconscious. With a glance to the female above, and a soft grunt, she signaled that she would need her assistance. Be it finding a long branch to extend to them, or even a path leading down to the stream where she could reach them, and quickly. Tobius was larger and heavier than her after all. She couldn't keep this up forever.

Laurel Boughinn
Laurel watched in terror as the ground beneath Jaime's paws crumbled and slid out from under him. Tumbling down the mountain in a cascading disaster, his warning call almost lost it's way among the din. She ran out of the way, the mud and mountain crashing down between her and the falls. "Jaime!?" her voice didn't sound strong enough to break through the thundering, to even make it to her own ears. A sound she did hear, however, was the sound of what could only be a body hitting the water. Frightened by the possibility of a casualty, Laurel raced around the humongous pile of earth to see if her friend needed help.

She was beat to it by the other wolf that had been on the ridge- over rocks and mud, Laurel could see the descent through the air into the pool below. Ears held back in fear, she pushed forward even more, worried that the pool wasn't deep enough for a dive that high. The Boughinn made it just in time to see the new wolf signal for help, struggling to keep an unconscious Jaime above water. Without hesitation she jumped in, paddling furiously. In her head, Laurel thanked her parents profusely for making sure each and every one of their children knew how to swim and swim well.

Making her way to Jaime's other side, she barked out, "Follow me!", before lowering herself just enough to push up Jaime's head on her shoulder. Trying to keep it that way, Laurel gently grabbed a bit of her companion, depending on the other wolf to contribute strength- they were both smaller than Jaime, and it didn't help that he wasn't moving autonomously at all. Struggling a little, she began to lead the way to the shallower part of the pool, where they would be able to stand and rest Jaime on shore.

He sunk. Sunk with the weight of the mud and rocks above, deeper and deeper into the dark depths of the water. If he had been conscious, there may have been a slight possibility for him to have survived on his own. But, that wasn't counting on the fact that Tobius didn't know how to even swim. Once his mother passed away, his father kept him alive, but didn't teach him some vital skills, like swimming. Zeus taught him what he wanted Tobius to know. However, as Tobius got older, he did learn a few things that Zeus didn't want him to know, by watching his pack members. That was how he learned the basic skills for healing. He wasn't an expert, but he knew enough to survive. However, there was no way he was surviving this on his own.

Luckily, Laurel and another unknown female were at his aid when he couldn't be. With his large frame, it was very difficult for the two smaller females to pull him ashore and to also keep his head above water. Though with tier combined efforts, they were able to pull him towards shallow water and solid land. He couldn't feel his feet slide against the rocky bottom as they got closer to shore or the gripping teeth of both of his savior around his neck. But he could start to feel himself wake up as his body was being pulled onto the shore. Soon the feeling in his feet started to come back, followed by everything else, then the pain hit him. A low groan escaped his lips as his eyelids finally opened and his deep blue gaze fell on the steel grey eyes of his companion.

Zia Celencio
With a strained grunt, which was muffled due to the fur and flesh in her mouth, Zia paddled forward. Her legs worked hard, furiously churning at the water while she braced herself against the males side. Keeping his body pinned between hers and the other female wolfs frame was the best way of securing him until they reached solid ground. Once her paws finally felt the smooth surface of the rocky bottom of the pool, she inched forward to the muddy bank, every muscle within her lean body quivering. With the assistance of the other female, the pair had succeeded in dragging their charge to solid ground, where he would be out of immediate danger. With a worried whine, she released her jaws from the scruff of his neck, looking over his body. It was then that as he groaned, Zia's eyes landed on his face, and then the females. Her face held an apologetic look on it. "I'm so sorry. Please forgive my recklessness...that damned fox just caught me at the wrong time..." She shook her head, scolding herself. She wasn't about to go into details about why her mood had been so foul. These two wolves were strangers, and now was no time to share stories.

Turning her attention back to the more immediate situation, she fixed the male with a stern, yet compassionate look. "Sir...please tell me, can you stand?" He had to be injured to some extent, but before they could do anything, the silver woman had to know how badly he was hurt. Depending on whether or not he could walk, after his tumble, would dictate the next course of action from here. She herself was unharmed. Just wet, cold and exhausted.

Laurel Boughinn
Laurel accepted the woman's apology rather distractedly- her main focus was Jaime, who was apparently in pain. "It's alright. The ledge was unstable anyway. What really matters is that you came to save him." She had never seen anyone jump from that high, and the stranger's courage blew her away. Even as she said the words though, her grey eyes were focused on her friend. His were looking at her, but the Boughinn didn't know whether or not he was aware.

"Jaime- Jaime-" Laurel let her paw gingerly touch his in an attempt to get his focused attention, her voice soft and expression concerned. "Are you hurt? Can you stand?" She considered the options she had available to her if he was- while the white fir Kato had found for her own scrapes was close by, it didn't look like Jaime had suffered any open wounds. If that was the case, most likely any injuries were internal, ranging from sprained to broken. Her tail stiffened a little at that thought- she didn't know how to deal with that sort of emergency. Would they have to seek help elsewhere?

And if they did, where would they go? She knew of the cavern pack that they were on their way to, but if Jaime really was hurt, would it be too far?
