Titan Thorben
Since Klio is inactive this is now for @Yuka
newly dated to 7/19/2014
He was doing his usual walk around of the territory. The tall dark wolf had stopped nearly a dozen times though noting the plants growing in the meadow home. He found bunches of ergot growing on grasses all over the place, usually in small clumps speckled throughout the meadow. Goldenrod was allover the edges of the meadow and the forest, with some plants growing more into the wide open meadow. He'd found Arnica as well in the areas where the grasses grew short and allowed for enough light to get to the low lying flowering plants.

Those three herbs were firmly planted in his skull since they were the most common to be seen in their grassland home. Though he had made a frightening discovery of cowbane growing close to their den on the north side of the hills closer to the marsh. He hoped pups wouldn't be stupid enough to chew on random plants because he certainly wasn't going to be the one to remove the dangerous herbs with his jaws. Though the young prince did think about digging up the herb and letting it dry out in the sun. perhaps I should have done that instead of leaving it as is?

However, because of his constant distractions Titan had only looped half way around the territory. He still ha a long way to go. However another distraction would bring him to yet another halt. Tipping his nose down, Titan inhaled the scent of a pack mate on the earth before him. Frowning to himself the young Thorben recognized Klio's stale scent. He wondered what she was doing right now, and where she had gone. Looking in the direction that her scent had come from Titan let out a call that was half bark half howl. He was trying to locate her despite his slow paw steps in her general direction.

Yuka Thorben

He had been avoiding a majority of his pack mates ever since his accident. He truly didn't know what had happened to him. one moment he was fighting a wolverine and the next moment he had horrible, life-changing scars all over his face. The young Thorben had even gone as far as killing Inali. He had not really thought that he would be able to do it, but in the end, he had pressed his paw down on her throat for far to long. Her breathing had stopped and it felt like her pulse had stopped, there was no way the woman could have survived. And the worst part was, he didn't even try burying her, he had just left her there, out in the open to be eaten by birds and what ever other predator would want to get to her lifeless body. He truly had turned into the monster that he had envisioned himself being, and he wasn't sure if he was pleased by this, or utterly terrified.

The only time he had needed to have a run in with the pack was during the pack hunt, to which he had kept to himself and near Athena. Yuka never really spend any time with his sibling or mother, the thought of attachments never really appealed to him, especially after Inali left with Minka and Tokino. He hoped that they would all go rot in hell for their crude actions towards the Caverns family. He was broken from his thoughts when he brother's alarming voice broke through his thoughts. The gray russet-faced boy raised his head slightly, an amused, cold smile playing on his lips. His brother was calling for Klio, how foolish of him. Remaining silent, the Thorben stalked through the shadows, his amber teal-flecked eyes finally landing on his brother. Seeing if he could scare his brother would be easy. Opening his jaws, Yuka broke the eerie silence quickly, "Klio is gone. She hasn't been back for quite awhile now." The young man remained in the shadows, only allowing the left side of his face become visible in the sunlight.

Titan paced around waiting for an answer that was never returned. Though he had hoped to have another wolf to talk with or hang around near his age; Titan would rather walk alone his whole life to keep disloyal wolves who vanish on everyone away from him. He paused then glanced around at the immortal landscape that was the caves mouth. Then he looked over to the ever changing landscape around the forested hills that hid the entrance of the cavern. Some trees had gone down recently, probably after the strong storm that had hit them only days ago. More light was filtering through one area allowing smaller hemlock and other tree species to grow.

The voice that broke the silence startled Titan enough to make him flinch before turning to see his brother standing with 90% of himself in the shadows. Giving his brother and expressionless look, Titan turned to face his lighter colored sibling.

"Well that sucks." He paused then looked to the trees around them. "Now why does everybody have to go leaving around here? Bastards..." His anger showed only in his half joking voice as the dark Thorben sat on his haunches wondering what to do with himself now. He was going to help teach Klio about other herbs, however now that she had taken off that activity was out of the question. "You about to check on the borders?" Titan asked nonchalantly. Though the idea of patrolling the border with Yuka did cross his mind. Maybe he could sniff out some more herbs to practice the names while he was out too.

Yuka Thorben

The young Thorben kept his small smirk to himself as he watched his brother closely, waiting for his answer. Yuka was pleased that he had been able to sneak into the scene without Titan noticing, it meant that he was doing his job well, and that under Ash's studies, he had been improving quite dramatically. His ears flickered forward as his brother began to speak, resisting the urge to roll his eyes at his brother, a growl resonating through his chest. "Well, being deserted is just something we have to get use to...even the most loyal members can be complete baboons!" Including the precious little girl you brought here with you, his inner voice snarled out. He battled it down deep inside him though, angry that his brother had a shot at something that he knew that he would never get to encounter. All because of his damnable face. Hadn't he been through enough in the past year already? He already knew his father had not wanted him.

When a question was directed at Yuka, the light boy focused his attention back on his brother, his face an emotionless mask. He huffed softly at Titan's question, shaking his head slightly, before realizing it would have been hard to notice with most of his body consumed within the shadows. And so he opened his mouth and let the words run freely across his tongue, "No, Sir Hervok has asked me to watch the borders before the sun rises and after the sun sets." For my own comfort. He remained silent then, his jaw clenched tensely as he waited for something, but quickly came to the realization that they did not have much to talk about. And so with a regretful sigh, Yuka asked almost grudgingly, "What have you been up to lately?" Though he had been keeping track of his brother, he had avoided contact with him, and so he felt it was expected of him to seem at least slightly interested in matters that he already knew were going on. Quietly, he waited for his dark sibling's response.

Titan Thorben
Titan nodded to his brothers comment. Some of the wolves who had left were wolves Titan had hoped to become good friends with including Klio and Harp. However they and other members who had been a part of the pack before his birth had left. Titan could only wonder what force or reason would make a wolf leave a pack they had sworn themselves to.

"Yeah." I almost wonder who the next wolf will be to leave the pack.. Titan answered but didn't continue the thought out loud. He agreed with Yuka about those who were idiots. Though Yuka's wording made his face screw up.

"What in the world is a baboon?" The question slipped past his lips before he thought not to say it. Frowning for a moment wondering if "baboon" was some word he hadn't learned from the adults yet but Yuka had, Titan moved his body a bit to get more comfortable. He listened for Yuka to answer then continued on.

A little disheartened at the fact that he couldn't help Yuka with much of anything, Titan huffed a sigh before glancing towards his brother and catching his gaze for just a moment. Out of habit Titan looked away from those deep amber eyes, his fathers eyes and listened to the question Yuka posed.

"Uhh... Well. Ever since Malia's death I kinda decided that I wanted to be a healer." Titan shrugged before pausing and thinking about their dearly departed sister. Nobody really brought her up anymore. "I hope that I can help my friends and family by being a healer.. you know, keep them from dying..." He confessed the truth to his litter mate before laying himself down on his belly and staring at the sky.

"I miss her... even the annoying parts." This was said rather quietly as the dark wolf wasn't sure how his brother would react.

Yuka Thorben

Yuka had never really taken the chance to talk to his brother since they had received news of their sister's death. The last time the two had spoken was when the larger brother had snapped at Titan for a comment that he had made. Still, Yuka was distancing himself, and the fact that he had remained this long to speak to his brother was a struggle. He was not comfortable and as he noticed his brother staring at him, his lip immediately peeled back defensively. But his brother had already looked away. The Guardian in training listened to what his older brother had to say, his eyebrow lifting in surprise. Never had he thought that Titan would be into Healing. Perhaps Guarding or Tracking...but not healing. Never the less, it was a good skill to know and be able to hold onto in the long run. The russet-gray wolf had also learned a few things about healing when Malia had been attacked by birds when she had been younger. Kassander had been summoned immediately and Malia had been treated for infections. That day was the only day Yuka had, and would probably ever, felt like a hero. Now as a recluse, he wouldn't have to worry about doing anything heroic. He had killed Inali...without a second thought. There was no knowing what he was capable of.

Titan was family and Yuka felt it in his best interest to support him to pursue what he wished to do with his life. And so he did. "That's...good Titan. It's a very good way to channel your energy and help others." Instead of killing them, Yuka mentally added to himself. When his brother spoke up again, it was about more pressing matters: the death of their beloved sister. Oddly enough, Yuka never felt much remorse for the death of his sister. He was sure he was sad...he just didn't feel anything and that was going to be a problem in the long run. He didn't mind not feeling anything, it was easier, but he also knew that it was the coward's way out. He wouldn't say anything to his brother though, he had taken their sister's death hard, and deep inside of the war inside of him, Yuka could understand. He didn't exactly know how to respond to what Titan was saying, so Yuka just shifted his paws awkwardly beneath him. Clearing his throat, he spoke, unsure of himself, "Yeah..she was the more...lively of the three of us." That was all he contributed to the topic, not knowing what else he could possibly add.

Titan nods in understanding after Yuka comments at Malia. That she was... He thought quietly before glancing to the landscape. He'd noticed the awkwardness of the conversation and was now trying to think of something else to say or do. Instantly his mind went to Yuka's training. The dark Thorben wondered what kind of stuff Ash had his larger brother doing.

"Sooo...." the dark lad tries for a moment to clear his thoughts. "Your training has been going well I see. " Titan refers to Yuka's bulkiness with a small nod to the russet-gray lads muscular frame. "Maybe, we could spar a little? I wanna see how strong you've become. Though I expect you'll win with everything Ash has taught you." The dark wolf rolls his shoulders in anticipation while his black tail begins to wave back and forth happily. A friendly spar might turn into a real fight, but he wasn't expecting that to happen. Titan only wanted to test himself and perhaps relive the days of play fighting when he was much shorter. Back when there were three Thorben children bumbling around the den.

Waiting for Yuka to reply, Titan let his mind wander. He had a relatively active imagination, and if he wanted Titan could lose himself in an imagined world. For example, he was currently imagining a younger version of @Ash standing by Yuka trying to stare both he and his brother down. Though Titan couldn't figure out how to imagine Ash. He wasn't sure if the Hervok was thin and gangling as a yearling like himself or if he might have been much like Yuka.

The boy had grown considerably under Ash's guidance and had learned many skills, except one, which his leader also seemed to be lacking in at times: control. The reminder of what he had done to Inali was a constant reminder to him, always telling him of the bastard that he truly was. He was even being haunted by her now. Before he had turned into a monster, all he had wanted was to be loved and cared for. Inali had once provided that for him, but then his dreams had been shattered. With this in mind, when Titan made a proposal to him, Yuka knew he had to refuse. He didn't want to lose control again. So with a firm shake of his head in final decision, Yuka spoke soundly, "I don't think that is a wise decision...my teacher doesn't wish me to spar with anyone but him at the moment." Of course, what he said was a lie, but until he had control of himself and didn't lust for simply blood, he would attack no one, especially his little brother, who was much smaller then him.

In an attempt to amend himself for having to decline his brother's proposal, Yuka tried to make it look like he was interested in what the other boy was pursuing, something that Yuka knew nothing about. His bulk was built to be a Guardian, Ash had made sure of that. So clearing his throat he did the best he could, "But I would be interested in finding out some of the things you have learned from your teacher...if it is allowed, of course." He didn't say anything else and waited to see what his brother's reaction would be.
