Myrrhis "Myrrh" Flint
Ace appeared apologetic when Myrrhis professed that yes, Neoma was her daughter and the subject of their separation. "Prithee that you never do know the pain of a child leaving you and speaking words of hate to you as their last words." Myrrhis warned softly, for some reason wishing to wen the silver male. Why, when she wanted to steer clear of such a discussion? Yet Ace seemed to understand and makes his own attempt to steer the topic of the discussion else where, a smile working its way onto his face as shelved onto to explain her preferred job in the pack. A sudden laugh surprised her but it wasn't at her express. It was at his, the male stating that he was essentially a know it all to almost everything as a child, expect for herbs.

"when it comes to healing and herbs I am way out of my depth," ." he admitted to her. "Maybe you could teach me a few of the basic herbs?" Myrrhis smiled, nodding.

"I'd be more then happy to teach you a few things. It would be a good way to show my skills as a teacher to someone and help improve my standing within the ranks perhaps?" Myrrhis didn't mind being one of the lower ranked wolves in the pack but it would also be nice to be a higher rank. The elder turns her head slightly when Ace asked if she wanted lunch, smelling the deer on the wind. "I am hungry." The silver pelted she wolf admitted." Yet we number but two. We should plan before taking action against the deer." Myrrhis begun heading towards the deer, hoping they would not be noticed as she begun thinking of a plan.

Her other daughter had been a hunter, as had her mate. She learnt some skills off of them, as she made her way towards the deer to scope the area before taking down the deer. Perhaps they could steer it back towards the creek and slow it down in the cold water? They would get wet agin but it could work. She voiced that plan to Ace, to see whether he had to offer.

The Silver Male took Myrrhis's warning to heart, knowing that she had experienced much more of the world than he had, and therefore knew so much more than him. He'd do well to take advice where it was needed, and sometimes even if it wasn't. After all, wasn't knowing things at any point in time better than not knowing at all? He certainly thought so. Tail wagging, he smiled when the older female agreed to teach him a few things about herbs and such, as well as further her skills as a teacher. "Thank you, ma'am, I much appreciate it. It would be, and I'm sure Phineas would approve of a wolf such as you teaching his children."

Nodding at her wise words, Ace quickly followed the older female at an easy lope, listening carefully as Myrrhis voiced of a plan to steer the separated deer back towards the creek and slow it down in the water while making sure they were staying upwind from the four legged hoofed creature. "That's a good plan, Myrrhis. I can stay back to the side while you go ahead around to the side of the deer and herd it my way, where we can both channel it through the rocky mountainside, making sure it doesn't slip off to the side. That way it has no choice but to go into the creek and we can both take it down for the pack." The Silver Male was sure their plan would work, especially since the path they were taking was almost like a funnel; a steep drop on one side and thick trees on the other. The question was if they had the agility and speed to chase after the deer and take it down before it got away. Slowly his pace considerably, Ace crept silently into place and waited for Myrrhis to make the first move in the hunt.

Myrrhis "Myrrh" Flint
A small thrill went through Myrrhis as they discussed the plan. It had been a while since she had hunted with another. The elder wolf nodded, not wanting to speak so close to the deer and potentially scare it off before the hunt truly began. It would be a wasted opportunity to feed the pack and fill the caches, if there was to be any left over. Neither wolf could be a larrikin in this situation at all, if this hunt was to succeed.

Myrrhis made sure to stay upwind of the deer as it flickered its ears nervously and to tread carefully as she veered around it, so she could make sure she was on its right side. The trees and undergrowth kept her hidden as she crept up on it, crouching low to the ground and only striking when she was certain the deer was relaxed enough to put its head down to munch on a still somewhat leafy bush. The deer let out a cry of surprise as Myrrhis nipped at its side, scaring it towards the funnel Ace had mentioned and towards her pack mate. Myrrhis stayed on its heels yet made sure not to get struck in the head with its sharp hooves.

She only hoped their plan would work and that the deer would not turn around and leap over her head, as she had seen happen on many occasion to what otherwise looked like a successful hunt. And that would mean taking nothing back to the pack.

@Myrrhis Okay, so one more chasing/hunting down the deer post from both of us and then one each of taking it down :)

It had been far too long since Ace had hunted something down larger than himself with another wolf. He missed the thrill of the chase, the blood pumping through his veins, the reward of fresh meat after a victory, and sometimes the disappointment after losing the prey. Being wild and letting go of himself at times was what kept him sane, and without that he felt like he would go crazy, as any wolf would feel. Keeping silent, knowing that the deer may hear them if they spoke, he watched from his slightly hidden position behind a large boulder. It was times like these during winter that he was thankful for his silvery grey coat as he blended in pretty well with the snow.

Keeping his silver eyes locked onto the deer's nervous form, Ace waited patiently and silently as Myrrhis crept up behind the large creature, making sure to stay upwind while doing so. It was clear that she had experience in the hunting field, he just hoped she still had the ability and agility to complete the task at hand and not get hurt in the process. Within the minute her gray form leaped at the deer, nipping its side with her front teeth. The creature let out a cry of surprise and bolted - luckily for them - in the correct direction: towards the funnel where Myrrhis and him would chase it down together until it became their next meal. Leaning forward on his toes, the Silver Male waited until the last moment where he would leap forward at the deer and make sure it veered away from where it could escape if it went behind him, and direct it towards the creek ahead. He hoped their plan would be successful.

As the deer passed Ace's hiding spot, his gleaming silver fur blending n well with the snow, the deer bleated and twisted slightly-towards the creek, as planned. It was terrified of the two wolves now on its tail. It had just wanted some food, which was becoming more scare over the colder months. It had smelt wolves nearby but it had been faint and thought they were already gone, their scent simply having hung around for a little longer. It had not expected to have two grey shaded wolves at its heels, funneling it towards-a creek?

Why were they chasing it towards a creek?

It didn't matter. It needed to get away and the only way now was to cross the creek. So it leapt into the freezing water, the two wolves still after it.

After leaping after the deer as it dashed towards where Ace was waiting, Myrrhis continued to nip at the flank of the beast whenever she had the opportunity to, making sure it was heading in the right direction that was planned. And Myrrhis was pleased when the deer didn't fly over Ace's head, as he jumped out just in time to scare it towards the funnel. The plan was working so far. That was good. It meant a higher chance of catching the creature and that there would be food for the pack. Hopefully, nothing would cause it to fail. So when the deer crashed into the creek, Myrrhis didn't expect anything to go amiss.

When the deer slipped on something in the water-a mossy stone or simply having lost its footing-the waves it caused as it fell into the water knocked her back slightly but the elder she wolf kept going. She had hunted on ice before and in freezing water such as this. This was nothing. she told herself, forgetting that those hunts had happened when she was much younger and the cold would not effect her as much. That she was a much more sturdy wolf.

However, it still wouldn't have stopped her from going into the water after the deer. It was just water.
