Jessie Tainn

Jessie remained attentive to the lady's needs, her emerald eyes moving towards the form of who she hoped she could call a friend. Of course, Nayeli did not know of the trust issues that Jessie harbored towards other wolves. None the less, should they ever be on the borders together the alpha would be able to tell that Jessie clearly was not found of loners or any wolves that she did not know well. When the other woman spoke again, the Swiftpaw did her best to give the other woman a reassuring smile, though she couldn't really tell how well that worked out. Her reply was tense though, "Well, yes, of course. It would be bad if something should happen to one of us and no one being able to help the other." While this was true, they still wouldn't be around one another much through the time that they were on the other side of the mountains. Jessie hardly knew the area well anymore, she hadn't been on the other side for quite some time. Either way, she would not let the new Tainn down and would do as she asked, even if that meant bringing Drestig along with her.

When Nayeli approached her with another request, the Swiftpaw arched her eyebrows slightly to show that she was intrigued by the question. Of course, she had heard of Nayeli's family before when she had first entered the lore, and Jessie knew that the darker woman had been searching for them for quite some time. Though she doubted she would find anything, to placate her alpha, she nodded her head and muttered a soft acknowledgement to her hope of finding family. Not that her new alpha would have to worry, she had the Bend wolves now, and they were one of the most loyal bunches anyone would be able to find. So jut to make sure the woman did not need anything more, Jessie asked one final question, "Is there anything else I can do for you, Milady?" She flicked her tail behind her uneasily, awaiting any reply that would come from the other woman.

Apologies for the late/short reply. I think we're at a good spot to wrap up though, yeah?

Nayeli gave Jessie a silent nod, lookin at Jessie for a moment. She believed the Swiftpaw and Drestig would be successful, if anyone could. She only hoped they might learn something useful on their journey, but they would never learn anything if they didn't try. And perhaps, the journey might be good for the scouts themselves.

"No, thank you, I think I've asked you for enough as it is," Nayeli said, noting the impatient twitch of Jessie's tail. "Actually," she quickly amended, "One more thing. You don't need to call me 'Milady' all the time... Nayeli will do quite fine." Nayeli was honored by Jessie's use of the title, but it was hardly something she could get used to hearing on a regular basis. Nayeli cared more for respect born of kinship than titles. She smiled weakly and gave a shrug, hoping Jessie would understand.

Stretching, she stood, thinking of looking for Triell again. She drew in a breath, feeling the urge to move itching in her paws, and suspecting Jessie felt the same. "It likely won't be long until you leave, so, good luck out there," she said, giving the emerald-eyed scout one last look before trotting off toward the lengthening shadows. Nayeli didn't hold out much hope of Jessie and Drestig running across any of her own family, but perhaps they would learn news about their own, or the distantly flung relations of the rest of the pack.

Jessie had never been close to Corinna, so this new friendship with Nayeli was intriguing to her. The Swiftpaw had always been comfortable in her place and had never questioned where the alphas were concerned. She had always tended to be closer to the male side of leadership and had never truly gotten to know the female leads. If they maintained a professional relationship, Jessie would feel no remorse if she had to do what had to be done. It was why she clung to the hope that Nayeli would be one of the few who actually stayed and wouldn't waver in her loyalty to the pack. With this in mind, with Nayeli's request, she dipped her head in respect and confirmation, a small smile playing her lips. She never thought she would actually have a friend that wasn't below her, but she found the thought was enlightening.

So she finally muttered final words, "Thank you...Nayeli. Be careful." She then turned to take her leave. Briefly, she pondered whether or not to turn to Hotei, to tell him of her mission and that her presence certainly wouldn't be found for quite awhile. She dismissed it quickly though, surely he knew that she was independent and didn't find the need to find him through everything. Instead, she sought of Drestig, who she had only seen and briefly interacted with once. It was time for them to plan what they were going to do. And while she certainly didn't want the presence of another, she had little choice. Hopefully, this would go much smoother than she was assuming it would.

Jessie gave a small smile, and Nayeli returned it, hopeful that the scout's optimism was not feigned. It was no small thing she was being asked to do, and while the Swiftpaw might have reservations about taking a partner along with her, Nayeli was convinced it was the safest move. The odds of two wolves vanishing without a trace was far smaller than if she went alone. Such a journey would be arduous, though if Jessie really wanted to go it solo, perhaps she and @Drestig could split off from one another and cover more ground. Nayeli was keen to see how the two would work together, as well.

As the silver woman turned to leave, her choice of words did not go unnoticed. Nayeli's tail thumped against the earth behind her, a warm smile mirroring the small expression that graced the other woman's jaws. "The same to you, Jessie... thank you." Jessie seemed to already be lost in thought as she made her way off. A small puff of air escaped Nayeli's nose, and her tail's swaying stilled to a small flick at it's end. Her smile had turned wistful now that there was no longer anyone to see. The dark lady had found herself beginning to grow fond of Jessie's company, and the coming days would almost certainly be emptier with two of her friends going over the mountains. Nayeli earnestly hoped the two would return, the Bend wouldn't be the same to her without either one. She hoped that what they might learn on their trip would be worth the trouble, worth the risks. Perhaps it would appease the wanderlust that so often sang in the heart of scouts, as well. Silver eyes flicked up to the green lattice of branches overhead for a moment, and then she was pushing herself to her feet, resolving to find Triell and see what his thoughts were on what she had just asked of Jessie.
