Celandine Argyris

As the stranger woman ate, Celandine began the ever daunting process of licking the cooling blood from her fur. It was the mark of a predator, and yet she hated for the pristine color to be marred by even the lightest soil. Her siblings might have laughed at her, but the youngest Argyris had an image to maintain. Someday she would be queen, and the last thing she needed to worry about was not looking the part. Especially when she had so much stacked against her.

Even as the tawny she-wolf finished the remains, Celandine continued working at her coat. The red was going to stain, she had no doubt, but it wouldn't take long to fade. A prospect she dreaded. Lost in her thoughts, she almost missed it. A single word that set this fae apart from all the others. Heiress. Bright amber eyes shot up, finding Mahle's scrawny form. She hadn't looked the part, nor did she sound it, but what reason did she have to lie? The girl was on the verge of death, and the pale girl was her savior. Desperation of this kind did not breed lies, or at least she could assume. "What brings you here?" Had the girl been running from something? What caused her to abandon her destiny? The girl might have just been another lackluster, wannabe princess, but now she really was intrigued.

Throwing in a quick, "If you don't mind me asking." She awaited hungrily for an answer. Hopefully, it would be one worth hearing.

Mahle psyxḗ

Mahle finished up the remaining bits of her meal before answering the Princesses curiosities. "What brings me here? Well, hmm." she couldn't quite think of an answer that wouldn't make her sound absolutely insane to an outsider, especially with the possible chance of a different belief system. "Aren't spirits strange to those who don't grow up with them? I'm sure she wouldn't be impressed with my reasoning, though I don't much agree with telling made up stories." she furrowed her brow, how could she be vague about this?

"Long story short, I guess you could say I've been called out here on a mission. Though that doesn't sound very fit for a princess I suppose." She gave a half attempted smile to the girl, knowing she'd probably have even more questions now. "Guess I'm not all that well with being vague. She'll probably regret helping me." It was almost pathetic, why was she acting this way? Someone who's normally so well with her wit. Someone who thought she could handle anything, but this whole time she seemed to do nothing but make a fool out of herself. "I don't really see myself returning anytime soon. I'm not so sure Alpha female is in the cards for me, But you.." she paused, pondering over her next choice of words. "You will make an excellent Queen. I could tell the moment I looked at you. There's just something special visible in your aura."

Celandine Argyris

A mission? What pack would send their princess out, risking her life, for a mission? What were their subordinates doing? The knowledge of what happened to the poor fae was enough to send Celandine flying into a rage, but she couldn't move. It was not her place to tell other's how to rule, nor should she take the pack's insolence out on the woman. Mahle had almost died for whatever garbage they were spewing, and she wasn't going to make it worse. Not yet anyway. Unable to stop herself from stiffening, the pale girl took care to keep any other indication of her feelings to herself. They were a weakness, and she was not weak. "I hope you find what your looking for." The answer was as short, and sweet as she could bare. Although it felt like pulling teeth.

The one thing Celandine craved most, aside from the throne of course, was flattery. It was the surest way to soften her up. Smiling, the pale girl made an offer. One that she hadn't planned on giving, but the compliments swayed her. "If you're ever in need of a home, Silent Moon would welcome you. The trek isn't too bad. Just head west over the mountain." Nodding in the Plateau's general direction, she considered the girl. "The climb would be hard in your condition, but after that it's all downhill." Should the girl take her up on the offer, they would leave immediately. Mahle was in the best condition she was likely to be in for a while, and time could mean life or death. Extending kindness was rare for the youth, especially when it caused her some type of burden.

Mahle psyxḗ

Celandine's kind words were enough to bring a genuine grin to Mahle's face. "Thank you, That means quite a bit to me." Truthfully, she wasn't sure she would find what she was looking for, and had clearly already began to second guess her decision. "Perhaps her words of encouragement were exactly what I needed right now.. Just perhaps..'

The offer to join the Princesses pack was more than tempting. Mahle hadn't even been traveling that long and she was already sick of it. 'I'll get weak from starvation again.. I did before so what'd be stopping it?' If it weren't for the bizarre feeling in he gut she would have almost instinctively said yes, but she knew she had to trek on. 'I might die out here, but I suppose that might just be what has to happen.. How sad.' with a sigh, she looked down to the grassy plains below her. "Thank you, You're reoccurring kindness has already saved my life today.. But, for now.. I think I must continue on with what I have to do." and just then she realized she might of made the most foolish decision she'd ever make. 'You know it's bad when you're already regretting it. Oh boy.' with a sough, she looked back at the wolf for what might of been the very last time, if she truly were as unlucky as she presumed. "But I'm sure we'll meet again." she lied. "And maybe then I can take you up on that offer.. Who knows, by then you might even be ruler of silent moon!" After all, if the young female knew anything, it was that Celandine would be Queen one day.

Celandine Argyris

She was surprised to hear that her offer had not been refused, but rather put off pending a later date. Mahle might have planned on cashing it in someday, but Celandine was pretty sure that the tawny woman wouldn't make it that long. Beginning her journey healthy had not been enough, though the princess could only guess at the fact. It was a loss to be sure. Perhaps the most shocking development was Cella's lack of a reaction. She wasn't mad, or upset. In fact, she was pretty content. The woman would come to her eventually or die trying. If she made it, then the youth would have one more recruit for the little flock she had been working on, and if not, well then it was no burden to her. The group of loyal ones would not suffer for a single loss, for she would find another wolf if they were so required. Slowly but surely, and for whatever purpose, she continued building it. Whether she would have use for these wolves or not, was a different story. Someday, should her rank be challenged, there might be a need for those expressly loyal to her. Her dreams would come to fruition with or without the lost princess.

"May we meet again, Mahle of the Col." Nodding, she turned to make her exit. "I do hope to see you before that day comes." Smiling privately to herself, the pale youth broke out into a run, with thoughts of the future resonating through her head.
