It was raining again. The sunshine days he feared so much, due to unholy bright light, had gone away. While his mother was sleeping he crept out of the den into the rain. Walking had become much easier for the Thorben boy. His gangly child legs allowed him to make way to the entrance of the den with ease. Trying to keep silent he successfully made his way out of the den. While his mother often warned him of danger that lived beyond the den, and young Daniel often took his mother's words to heart, but he didn't care. Daniel wanted to watch the strange light dance across the and listen to the wolf whom growled in the sky.
Sitting about five feet from the entrance to the den Daniel was quick to get what he wanted. A loud growl rumbled from the heavens into the boy's ears. "Walf!" His vocabulary skills were poor due to his lack of talking. Usually he just sat and listened to his mother's words, sometimes Hudson would visit and speak. Really other than those two wolves the dark cub had no interaction with others his kind. Thumping his tail the lad watched a flash of light. Laughing lightheartedly he gleamed up at the sky. Closing his eyes tightly the sky dropped its refreshing water on him.
"Ra-raaaaain." His voice was a struggling whisper. His tongue was still trying to figure out this whole talking thing. Even his brain struggled to string together words or repeat the words his mother often repeated around him. Maybe one day it would be easier."speech"
