Her appetite in that moment was dismal, but she continued to pluck away at the meal provided to her by her comrade. The cubs could use the nourishment and such a thought was always at the forefront of her mind – but she did not only consider the well-being of her youngest offspring, but also to her first litter. Karina was apprenticing with the man before her, and she questioned the values her daughter might be learning from him, rather than Lachesis or Naia.

The description he gave was a wolf she very well could have been all too familiar with. Ash was a wolf she had run in to before, and his temper had almost got the better of him. Brown, red and gold with bright green eyes – and yet, the description itself was not enough to go on. But it was certainly something that intrigued her.

If it indeed was Ash – perhaps their allies would be more helpful in bringing down the Whisper Caverns pack.

But did she want them to? Or was she simply set on doing it herself, once their numbers had grown and they held more warriors within their ranks?

She kept these thoughts to herself, offering a small ‘hum’ of acknowledgement to his initial words. Ash of Whisper Caverns or not, she would not withhold the information from Minka. If it had been her and Maksim had been murdered – she would have heads roll until she found the one who had done the deed.

“Yes, I would like you to describe him to her,” she offered, her tongue smoothing over her lips as she pulled away from the meal. “We don’t need to deal with Gent just yet – Minka and her mate are the ones we have made an alliance with – if this Gent fellow is now the leader, and proves to not line up with our best interests, then Maksim and I will need to discuss if it is time to separate ourselves from them.”

Maksim was a busy man – but he would make time for this, and he would certainly take it seriously. Yet it was Kjors next words that caused the she-wolf to glance up to him, studying him quietly. She had never seen the male uncomfortable before, and yet he motioned between them with his paw, stirring her wolfish brows to arch slightly. “Yes,” she agreed finally, refraining from questioning him about his past, or what he truly meant by his statement. “I’ll try not to make that too hard for you.” There was a hint of humor in her tones, but it was shadowed by the news he had delivered her – something she could not shake.

Kjors Sørenson
"As ya wish."

He expected little different, in fact, all but insisted he do just that. After all, he felt it the only way to prove his innocence in the matter – dark and brooding as he might be, this was not a murder he personally committed. There was no reason to. It was not to say Kjors was not guilty of fratricide, he would be the first to admit to that crime, but he did not believe in wasting life needlessly. Poor as his mood was that day, he had no interest in Tokino, and likewise, the fallen alpha had no excuse to bother him.

After a moment he sighed, and gathered his legs up beneath him. It seemed the meeting was slowly coming to an end – all for the best, he supposed. Any other information wasn't relevant enough to share at this moment, or it was only fragments and pieces he'd yet to assemble into anything worthwhile. "Ah'll be ready when y'call t' go, then," he hummed, nodding softly. He had little intentions of moving far, regardless. Karina needed to continue to practice, and he could continue on as he was – adding strength to the border and small mammals to the caches. It seemed that was his only use, these days. It was something that ate at the male regularly, but-- Well, now was not the time or place to deal with a rebellion against the mundane.

Clearing his throat, he dipped his head, retreating a few steps back before addressing @Kisla one last time. "There 'nythin' else y'need?"

Their conversation came to an end. She had much to consider, and now her first desire was to seek out @Maksim and tell him what had transpired. Her mate was busy these days, scouting the nearby lands for their missing son and maintaining the borders.. all on top of looking after two rambunctious puppies.

She regarded her companion quietly then, giving a shake of her muzzle as he questioned if she required anything else. They would need to move fast – though it would not be fast enough. IN only a few days time, Gent would come knocking on their door, and she would learn first-hand the ‘heavy handed’ ways he did indeed deal with things.. and she would not take it with a smile.

“Thank you Kjors,” she motioned to him, causing him to pause before he left. “For informing me of what you witnessed.” It was likely not something he had wanted to be privy to, and yet now he had become involved.. they all had. “And for this,” she swept her muzzle down to the meal she had more or less picked clean. Despite her appetite having disappeared, the pups would reap the benefits of the nourishment.

With that said, the honeyed female went to go check on her pups. The news had left her unsettled, and suddenly, Hearthwood River was now entangled in a web of murder – and while not guilty of the deed, the information was something they would need to disclose. Minka, as a friend to her husband, deserved the rest of her mind.
