Staleek "Snakeroot" Calor

There was a silence surrounding him as he sat there, pouting somewhat at the fact that his mother had dared to scold him and accuse him of all the tensions between himself and the mountain pack. As if! There was a silence to him because if he said anything, it would likely result in more trouble than it was worth for the pair of them against their mother. At least Tauza had his back and defended him, saying they had left on good terms. It wasn’t like their mother truly knew them. He shot Tauza a brief glance with a certain level of thanks in his eyes to make up for that. He remained stoical and unresponsive as they talked.

His mother suggested that they meet further from the pack later in the night and he simply nodded, a level of disinterest in his aura to prove his point – he didn’t want to be anywhere near his mother, and he thought that himself and Tauza would be better off without her. Tauza wanted to stay around her for some reason, so he would stick to it and sick by his sister’s side, because surely no one else would understand him. “Who said we weren’t proud of the Calor name?” He finally asked with a hint of condescension in his tone. He was proud of his father and their name, it was his mother and his brother he wasn’t overly fond with. After all, he was the definition of the problem child in the family.

He swiftly turned and moved to walk away and get away from the scene as fast as possible, expecting his sister to follow him if she was done talking with their mother.

Tauza "Foxglove" Calor
don't care overly much about this one being below 250 as there are over 10 posts. feel free to archive, siki!

It appeared mother wanted to check this place out as well, which was almost surprising. Tauza had assumed that her mother would have just anchored herself to this little old badger set and taken up residence by now. But maybe there were things she did not know about her mother. This was a reoccuring theme lately: the discovery of who her mother might truly be. It was interesting, in a way, how Belladonna seemed to stand on her own beyond Wolesh. It was also a little disgusting.

Where was the grief.

"Great," she chirped, her tone barely managing to straddle the divide between the two parties of Bella and The Weed and Staleek and herself. She was uncertain of how a whole family of four would appear to a pack. Certainly the Fallen Tree Cove leader has gotten touchy because Tauza had her brother with her, but maybe that was just how he had been. But four wolves was not so far from an invasion. Maybe. Tauza convinced herself once and for all by eventually deciding that Duck didn't really count and that perhaps three would not be so threatening of a number.

But Staleek was already on the move, and the pale girl whipped her head over her shoulder to watch him leave. She glanced back at her mother. "Well uhm... see you I guess."

She wondered if her mother was proud of the Calor name at all.

Belladonna Calor

Her face was a well-practiced vision of calm and acceptance as they responded to her affections with none of their own. It was a dynamic she knew well, born from @Datura, honed by Wolesh and now employed by her children. If she had not the love of @Ash to remember, of @Athena, she would have thought that all love was so harsh. Instead she had been forced to accept that it was simply the love closest to her which was so sullied, but it would not stop her loving.

Of course they were proud of being Calors, for it was the name of their father and they had adored the man so. Snakeroot did so worry her, emulating all the darkest portions of his father's nature with little of the light - and make no mistake, there had been some light. Was it a blessing or a curse that the man he most looked up to and molded himself after was dead, for now his role model was gone - but so was the only adult who had ever truly held influence over him? Fox had her own sway with her brother, Bella knew, but the girl was misguided in her own ways. None of her attempts to pull them from clinging to their father's memory had ever worked, and in seeing the resentment borne from trying, she had long given it up. Let them idolise him. One day they would realise that Wolesh had been the cause of his own demise and was no hero to worship.

She watched them go, the mask slipping as she knew it was no longer needed; they would not look back. With a sigh she turned back to Duck, who was himself a boy built entirely upon his father's foundations. Was she to try to fix his ill parenting forever? The thought of letting any of the three of them into the world when still full of Wolesh's weaknesses made her feel sick. It was a cruel twist of fate that @Ahkna, perhaps the most level-headed despite her great similarities with her sire, was the only one to stay independent. Or maybe she was just the one real success of the litter, the most well-adjusted.

"Let's go, love," she said, distant, as she kissed her son's crown, and left her old home behind.
