He was not sure where he was headed—he just wanted to explore more of this side of Relic Lore. It was not too far from where he and the river wolves resided, but it was as far as he would go today. The elaborate colours of the forest were what had drawn the ghost to this particular location. He wasn’t even sure if there was anything he could use for his infirmary among the fiery foliage, but it was a change of scenery. Lachesis had grown so accustom to lush, green forests that it seemed bizarre that something so different could co-exist just miles away. For now, he was not interested in finding plants to bring back with him; he was merely fascinated by the peculiar colour that surrounded him.
The ghost needed the distance between himself and Kingsfall—he did not want to linger around where Ana had disappeared for a second time. The first time was excusable—they had gotten separated on the mountain during their search for Karpos. However, she had returned after many, many moons of being absent, promising to stay by his side once more and… nothing. She was gone; without a word, without a scent. Just gone. The thought filled him with an uncomfortable fury… how could she leave him after knowing how distraught he had been during the time they spent apart.
It had been Bastet, the exotic stranger, who had pieced XIX back together after he returned to Cut Rock without his china doll. She had dragged the ghost out of his shell and returned light back into his life… except she was gone too. During the move to Kingsfall the foreign beauty had lost her way after getting separated from the pack. XIX had tried many times to find the fiery female since they had relocated but only returned home with disappointment riding on his shoulders. The ghost was slowly giving up—he was not meant to have close females in his life. They all left him; he was positive that they didn’t even care about him. He was just a healer, after all—nothing dazzling like a guardian or the head hunter. Just a boring, lame healer.
As the days passed XIX was falling deeper into his old habits and was becoming less inclined on digging himself out. It was much easier not caring about others—aside from Karpos, Maksim and kin.
