The coarse call of raven above her head shot Hecate's eyes open. The bird was on the lowest branch, screaming at her to awaken. She gave an angry growl, covering her snout with her large paws. No bird was going to stop her from getting a full twelve hours. She thought the bird had flown off, listening to the faint sounds of wings pressing on the air. A sleepy smile arose, her mind finding a certain peace; it felt better, falling asleep in the morning. Another screech filled her ears, and another and another. Hecate cracked her eyes to see a tree full of dark birds, all bellowing their signature yell. "For fuck's sake,  I'll show ya sleep y'bastards.."  She grumbled, forcing her tired body up on two propped up legs. She let a drawn out yawn escape her maw, eyeing the dozen ravens. She took soft steps towards the tree, watching their beady eyes follow her own. "Whatter y'looking at ya shits. SCRAM!" She shouted leaping up to bite at the bird on the lowest branch. Swarms of black wings soared out of the red foliage, screaming unbearably.

It hadn't dawned on her that they might bother other members, a firm line drawing on her lips. "Fuck." Hecate hissed unenthusiastically. The familiar, 'sorry not sorry' gaze casting on the black mass just above the tree line.

Elettra Archer

"Devils this morning, arn't they?" The air of her dark voice roused through the brush as she made herself closer to the young, pale woman. Truth to be told, she had barely spoken to the woman since her arrival, who's acceptance into the pack had been placed by Angier. It was her mate which more or less had discussions with her instead. A deep breath is drawn, taking in the woman's scent with a sneeze to then follow. Perhaps her fall had done more then just mess with her walking? Her nose had been a bit... bothersome, as of late. I guess thats what happens when you hit your face on rocks. The Matriarch licks her cut up muzzle, the gash upon her flank causing the slightest of limps as she makes her way closer to the woman.

Elettra's return to Willow Ridge after her bit of venturing with her daughter up the mountains had gone all but smoothly. There was a shifting in power which had been made evident while the mother had been gone. Elettra's weakness was Elettra's own and she would make sure to break any questions of her power should they arise. Truth to be told, Morganna's rise in power would come to pass at some point in time as the winter bogged the older parents down and the spring rose new opportunity. As for now, @Morganna took much of the burden of Leadership as her own whilst her mother recovered, though secretly Elettra longed for her daughter to make her proud, make her worthy of the position to be properly fought for when the right time arose. For now, Elettra kept in under wraps, with no intention of breaking just yet...

Hecate narrowed her eyes sharply at the clump of black that was beginning to roost around the edge of the border. A smooth voice sounded from behind her, ear pricking curiously. Before realizing whom she was talking to, she sounded her agreement. "Noisy freaks, I'll wait for the day I git t'eat one." She chuckled hoarsely, shaking her pelt from any twigs she had collected whilst sleeping. The woman turned to see the matriarch, the limping noticeable in each stride forward. A kind smile formed on her alabaster muzzle, eyes welcoming and warm. "Lady Elettra, how are ya as of late?" Must've taken a nasty fall; her nose was all scratched up- the blood mostly cleaned up. She hadn't heard such news from someone personally, but it seemed like the woman in front of her lacked a certain "queenliness" that Hecate had always been aware of.

There is a grumbled agreement in her throat as she eyed the younger woman, wondering other then pissing off the crows with her existence, what exactly she had been doing within the pack lands as of late. Her usual duty was unset, having not particular title which she was striving for and so worked along with anyone else when it came to scouting the borders or adding food to the caches for winter. There was traces of two of her sons on her pelt, faded from what Elettra's nose could tell, though could not be certain with how her nose had been treating her lately... Mostly, her sense of smell was fine,  though scenting out the differences in her herbs had been a bit more difficult she noticed while self medicating. Luckily for her, her sight as as sharp as ever which was more then she could say for Angier... "Could be better." She admits, shifting her weight to favor her uninjured side as she kept her pale gaze upon the woman. "I assume your settling well?" It seemed so, after all, she had stayed thus far and given the fact that Skoll and Greer were on her coat, it seemed like she was getting acquainted with the other members of the pack just fine.

The young lady could tell Elettra was sniffing her out, picking her son's scent away from her pelt. A worried twist grew in her stomach, she wouldn't know. Her mind went to Piety and her damaging scolds at the pack meeting, a crease burring itself briefly between her brows. No, of course she couldn't know. Hecate assured herself, the furrow disappearing with ease. A calm response in return for her concerns soothed her hot fur, a smile forming on to her face. She was glad the Queen was doing quite alright. "I hope yer recovery is quick." She said warmly, taking a welcoming seat. Another few seconds went by before she asked the same question her daughter had. "Yeah, I been havin' a great time ere'. I learned a lot in the past few months at Th'Ridge." Hecate said earnestly, recalling the first day she had been invited here. It all seemed very strange in the beginning, but she knew this place by the back of her paw by now. She wondered how things had been when Elettra had first started the pack, did it still hold the same values and morals that it did now? These were all questions for another time, she would have to badger Ele later with the history of The Ridge.
