The prattling did not bother Veho in the least – in fact, it was rather refreshing to meet another wolf as enthusiastic about the art of healing as he was. His tail waved behind him as he listened, his ears cupped forward as he hummed or nodded in the appropriate places. It was hard to get a word in edgewise, but fortunately he’d been blessed with a great deal of patience, and felt no need to attempt to speak over the ruddy female. Instead, he hummed thoughtfully, nodding as Aideen explained what she was looking for, and what she had a hard time finding back in her own pack lands. The mention of mushrooms brought a wry smile to his face, and he nodded.
“Ah, yes. We have many of those. I believe I could find some to spare,” Merlin chuckled, his pale eyes dancing. That he collected them more aggressively than many other didn’t need to be shared, though he did wonder if the woman used the mushrooms for the same spiritual purposes that he did. He would share regardless, for there were other medical uses to the fungus besides his own spiritual uses, and it wasn’t his business what she chose to do with them.
After a moment, he leaned back on a foot. He wasn’t carrying any on him, but he could certainly bring them to her. “I could bring you some lavender, and some mushrooms as well. I would have to make a trip, but I think it would be nice to see some of the land further north. Do you happen to have any Solomon’s Seal? Or ginger? Neither of those things grow in my region, and either would be a very helpful addition, if you have some to spare?”
