Anneliese Schroder
Anneliese's ears flattened against her skull, sealing them against Garmr's wretched shrieks. It was a distant siren, a sound she was well used to. The blood pouring over her tongue, the entrails tearing between her teeth, all of it was familiar and the woman found herself fighting a certain kind of high. It wasn't that she took pleasure in the pain of others, or even the punishment of a criminal. It was justice being done, and how damn good it felt to once more be the vessel that delivered such righteous action. This wasn't murder, this was vengeance, and as death clouded the waters churning around her legs Anneliese felt alive.

Then suddenly her victim moved heavily, crashing downward. Her snapping, ripping jaws followed determinedly until the water swarmed in around her face and she was forced to pull her head up. It only took a second for her to assess what was happening, and witnessing that Drestig very much had the situation under control she ceased her attacks. Still, she stood over the monster, ready to once more tear into him should something go wrong. Slowly her tongue ran over her black lips, sloughing the blood and bile from her fur. Drestig's shout ricocheted within her head as her pack mate ended the ill turned life before her, and only blazing approval was held within her eyes.

The body spasmed and lurched, first fighting its fate before giving into it. Whatever pitiful black soul had inhabited the body slipped away, a dark energy that the blonde woman could almost feel departing. The body was given unto the current, to do with it what it would, but Anneliese would touch it no more. The battle having been won, any further tampering would be desecration in her eyes.

Instead, she stepped closer to Drestig, carefully monitoring his reaction to the life he'd just taken. How long would that righteous anger last? She worried that it would burn out quickly, and he would once more fall victim to his own emotions. If they weren't home, they weren't safe, and Anneliese would make sure that all three of them returned unharmed. Motion occurred beside her, and she looked to Jessie in time to see the harsh glare delivered unto her. Immune to the woman's attitude given the occurrences of the night before, Anneliese pointedly stared back before once more settling her gaze upon Drestig, waiting for his lead.

Drestig Avalon
@Jessie @Anneliese Sorry for dragging this out so long, but I think we're ready to round it off now? You two can get in one more post each to be eligible for points, then we can finally archive this plot

He didn't know if it was blood or the water rushing in his ears, drowning out all other sound. His teeth were clenched so tightly that stabs of white pain shot through his jaw, eyes open, but seeing nothing but red. The monster twitched in his grip, muscles convulsing as the life left his body. Finally he became still, and Drestig tore his teeth free of the mangled fur, staring, not at the dead body, but straight ahead into thin air. Already he could feel the pent-up energy dissipate, seeping out of him like the blood coloring the river round his feet. His paws were numb in the freezing water, his shoulders slumping as he blinked to try and regain focus on the situation at hand, ignoring the steady pull of the stream that was already tugging at the lifeless body, eager to carry it over the edge of the fall and into oblivion.

The stench was what finally brought him back, face contorting in a sneer at the sour smell of death. Eyes flashing, he looked once down at the torn up carcass, then quickly pulled back, drawing into the, still clean shallows. After a few steps, he realized he was shaking, his heart racing and chest rising and falling rapidly as he gasped for breath. It was done. Instinctively, his tongue slipped along his lips to try and clean his muzzle, but as he did it, he remembered that this was not the blood of deer or rabbit, and he suddenly felt the bitter taste. This was wolf's blood. A small sound escaped him and he shook his head wheezing and spitting for a few seconds, before bending over and retching. There was nothing in his stomach expel though, yet he still felt better afterwards, bending down and washing out his mouth in the cold water.

Before turning, he cast one last glance in direction of the dead monster, spitting the last taste of his blood at his corpse. Then he looked away, content to never again lay eyes on a beast like him. Up to that point, Drestig had had focus on nothing else, it was only now, as he stepped out of the river, that his tunnel vision cleared, and his senses opened up to everything around him. He saw Jessie first, coming towards him, and he heard her voice, almost tentative, calling his name. Their eyes med and he nodded stiffly, then glanced around. Wasn't there another one..? He thought he remembered a smaller, darker female also, but it was all a little hazy. Turning his head, he saw Anneliese drawing up on his other side, looking at him expectantly. Seeing the blood, and other even less appealing fluids, staining her golden coat, he only now realized that she had been by his side the whole time, making sure that the filthy murderer met his end. She too received a nod; He would have liked to show her further gratitude, but lacked the mental capacity at the moment. Instead he looked back at Jessie running her over once to make sure she hadn't been hurt. "It's done..?" He asked, voice hollow and hoarse. It had all happened so quickly; Did Jessie take care of the other one? Once he had been reassured, he nodded again, to himself this time, then turned his gaze to the woods; "Then we should get home."

Jessie Tainn

She watched him like a hawk would watch its prey, looking for any sign that he had lost the mentality that they weren’t there. It soon became apparent that after his kill, his mind had simply given him. Drestig acknowledged Anneliese before doing a full sweep of her own body. Jessie assumed that he was just making sure she was alright and when the question came, Jessie was more than ready to answer it, brief and professional just as she always was. “Yes,” she replied, her voice a flat monotone. His next words calmed Jessie’s beating heart. It seemed that their journey had finally worn him out and the Scout responded with no words to his order.

Silently, she went by his side, not close enough to touch him, but just close enough for him to know that she was there and she wasn’t going to leave his side until they got safely back inside the borders of Oak Tree Bend. Granted, their journey took much longer to return home. Everyone involved who was alive did not have that adrenaline to kill in their veins. They had gotten their revenge and vengeance against Silver, and Spirits willing, let her sleep in peace. However, the Tainn would still acknowledge that her death would leave a scar on Drestig that would never fade.
