SVEN ARCHER
& the night is closing in

Something was wrong with the river. The boy had come to it to quench his thirst, the banks intimately familiar to the lonesome child, and yet as he stood upon them, black leather pads sinking into the mud, it was clear that something had changed. It took only a few sweeps of his ghostly eyes to know, the water level had dropped. Perhaps this was natural? It seemed everything around him was changing as of late, and he had been told that this was simply Autumn, and that things would only continue to get more and more strange. There were seasons through which time cycled, and only summer existed within his memory. This new knowledge left him dismissive of certain matters, such as spying oddly colored florae and sporadic, odd weather patterns.

Yet he could not recall being informed that the water would wither away. In fact, it had seemed to be rising, what with the increase in rain and diminishing of the sun's absorbing rays. Curiously suspicious, Sven chose to investigate, following the curve of the stream. It took a small while before at last he found it, the cause of such trouble, and the pieces all fell into place. This certainly was not a simple Autumnal matter, this was malice! A growl crept up the boy's throat as he looked ahead, witnessing the trespass as it was carried out, the audacity of it flaring up the hellish inferno within him.

A structure consisting of varying pieces of wood stretched across the stream from bank to bank, the barricade clearly diminishing the water's ability to flow. Sven could foresee within his assuming mind a complete cessation of the current, drying up a great portion of the water source if such vandalism upon their land was allowed to continue. The culprits seemed easy enough to chase away, except that their were several of them, and the boy was hesitant to approach without first knowing exactly what they were. Fat, was certainly one descriptive term, but what short of teeth did they have? Were their claws sharp, or dull like his? The sting of his shoulder and flank reminded him not to jump in without these answers, but how would he find them?

The adults should know, he concluded decisively. All he needed was an older packmate to come help him out (just this one), teach him what these things were and how best to eliminate. Then, if any of them ever dared to trespass and fuck with their water again, he could deal with matters all on his own. Turning around on his heels, he trotted away from the bank, putting a decent amount of distance between himself and his newfound prey so that his summons would not startle them. When satisfied, he threw back his head and let out a howl, asking for anyone nearby to assist him with a little hunt.

Renier Lyall
Act like you own it this time

It was mid-day, and the heat of the sun seemed to absorb itself in his coat. It felt pleasant, but he certainly should be doing more than just enjoying the sunshine. Why he didn't exactly feel there was a need to patrol again, he decided he might as well. He had taken a short break, and there was a bit of ground he had not covered himself. Like hell he was going to be idle, stuck with his gloomy thoughts. Since the death of his father Renier had done little to give into grief. He wasn't about to start. Like hell he would crumble and fall now.

Cream legs clipped along the faded grass. Willing something to happen. Waiting for Morganna to talk to him again was driving him mad. It probably wasn't one of his better ideas, he wasn't going to seek her out. Instead he told himself if he passed Angier's scent he would talk to him, but it hadn't happened yet. At least not a recent path. Instead of all things it was the call of a young boy. One that requested a helping hand at a hunt that caught the rogue's attention. Ears cupped forward, and he hurried along, letting the voice guide him to a place near by the river.

Ren could not firsthand detect what prey there was, but he was still interested. His golden eyes spotted the other wolf by himself, and he paused. Would this turn out? They had never met before, but looking upon the pale boy with a black splotch on his nose he knew this must be Sven. The spawn of Skoll himself, but he wouldn't hold that against him even if he didn't look quite young and helpless. No Morganna seemed fond of the pup, and that alone willed him to stay and see what happened. A low woof he called to the lad, taking his time to walk his way, keeping his posture neutral."So, what kind of blood you after today?"Surely, at least he would know that Ren was of the Ridge, being in the pack lands and all.

SVEN ARCHER
& the night is closing in

Yet another stranger wormed his way up through the woodwork to answer Sven's summons. How many could there within this pack? Would the supply ever tire? He supposed it truly didn't matter. Even some of those who shared his blood continued to be as close to him as any stranger.

"Some fatass rodents are blocking up our water," he informed the man, looking back over his shoulder in the direction they could be found. "I've never seen them before. Was hoping someone could teach me how to take care of the problem?"

Regardless of the man being an unknown, it was often certain that if a wolf had been allowed within the Archer domain, they were useful. While Sven wasn't close to his grandmother, he knew a lot about her from his father, including that she had no time for incompetence. An admirable trait to Skoll, and thus it was to Sven.

A tip of his head indicated that Sven wanted the man to follow, and he set off at a brisk jog to lead the way, fully expecting that Renier would heed the direction. Even if these beasts were alien, and Renier did not have prior experience with them, he should at least know how they could go about finding a way to rid the Ridge of them, right?

"I'm Sven, by the way."
