All welcome, but tag for @Ash anyway <3
The weather had been significantly different the last time Bella's paws had taken her to this place, as had her reason for venturing this far. Honestly, she hadn't meant to leave the woodland's borders behind at all, but it was such a strikingly clear day and the scent of caribou was in the air. She'd only meant to scout them out, but must have taken a wrong turn and lost the trail. By that point, she was already in the Wildwood, and, well...
While it had been @Mirren who encouraged her to join, Bella had spent very little time with the man, for it had quickly become apparent that he needed space. Poor creature, losing his mate in such an abrupt fashion - her heart went out to him and his daughter, who she had also unintentionally been avoiding, careful not to overstep any boundaries. The chocolate woman had no idea what was going on between herself and the handsome Tainn but she tried not to think about it - and knowing that he had a mate out there somewhere made her even more skittish of the topic. It was so much simpler to just exist as a member of the pack, with her priority to her family - Duck, @Ash and his kin - and not dwell too much on anything else.
But it was hard for her mind not to wander as she came across this place of the long-dead fire, for the last time she'd walked among these trees a glorious storm had been raging overhead, and a mysterious, sad stranger had approached her in the dead of night. It was hard not to imagine his face, streaked with raindrops, those emotive eyes staring straight at her, through her, as though she were from another world. Stepping lightly and carefully, feeling a respect for these lands which now went beyond the family which had suffered here, Bella picked her way through the undergrowth, the air still and crisp and the sky overhead a marvellous blue. She could still hear the thunder, see the flashes of light through the canopy, the rush of wind through the trees and the rush of rain running down her face, but then she would blink and everything was silence.
Letting a long breath out, Bella thought she finally found it; the small clearing where she'd been sat that night. Everything was so different now. Unable to relax enough to sit down, the woman simply stood there, quietly taking it all in.
