Hestia
A gentle puff of air came from her nose as Hestia listened to the sable male, called Wraith. At his glance, she dipped her head to confirm his words. After the introductions, Hestia retired to a quiet, observant approach to the pair. She gazed thoughtfully at Greer, slightly tilting her head before letting her eyes stray away. ‘It would seem that every wolf I meet bears Archer blood… perhaps this Greer does as well? He seems to have a personality that matches the other pair…’ She thought, off on a tangent, chuckling to herself. Of course, she had only heard a few words from him – it was unfair on her part to judge his temperament based off of a small piece of evidence. Every wolf that wore a sour expression couldn’t be grouped in with the Archers – she’d only met a couple of them – yet, she was especially wary when meeting others with ornery energies. A slip of the tongue could grant her a few scars, and blood staining her maw. She had no intention to harm the wolves here, unless it was a life-or-death situation…

Backtracking, Hestia thought back to her previous home. Poseidon wouldn’t bother with a mere consideration of this place as his home, nor even try to make friends with the wolves here. He was a happy, bouncy male, despite the hardships he had endured, and for that reason Hestia thought fondly of him. His personality contrasted highly with her own, and although it annoyed her to some extent, she found it kept her going.

Oh, how he could help her now.

Greer Archer-Lyall

Greer was never fond of discussing pack relations. It was such a dull, dreary topic, yet it popped up frequently when interacting with strangers or newcomers. Reason number fifty-three why Greer preferred to be on his own (and was truly destined to be a  lone wolf).

However, if the slender yearling wanted to depart from the willows in the near future and pursue another pack to call home (whether temporarily or permanently) he was forced to get acquainted with this whole small-talk bullshit. The male was exceptionally chatty, words rolling off his tongue effortlessly as he addressed both the Archer prince and the silver female. As he had assumed, the two were both recent additions to the Ridge. It was remarkable how the pack continued to thrive and swell with numbers—there was a perfect balance of both Archer’s and rogues. While Greer was partial to those who shared his blood, most of the unrelated additions were rather impressive (at least in size and skill). Despite this, the shadow had no desire to meet all of them. He preferred to stay close to his kin.

“Elettra mother,” he answered coolly, his silver eyes focused on Wraith. That’s all he needed to say—even though his mother was no longer leading the pack, she was still a strong presence within the pack. Especially since the majority of the pack was her flesh and blood. Hestia kept her voice to herself during this exchange, causing the slender shadow to glance over her quickly. It was up to her and the obsidian male to keep the conversation going; Greer only spoke when he felt it was necessary. And when he did, it was short and to the point.

Wraith Kael
Elettra, Wraith mused, recalling Craw speaking of the previous Alpha female who had taken injury. Despite Morganna in power now, the dark male had a feeling the matriarch still had much to say when it came to leadership of the pack. Hadn't Craw mentioned as much? Something about how Morganna hadn't exactly earned her place as a leader just yet. Wraith didn't mind; he still hadn't earned his place here in the eyes of all of Willow Ridge's members, apparently.

Politely, the large male bowed his head. "Again, it was nice to meet you Greer. Call if you have need of me. I'm in need of a run tonight, I think. I'll not impose on you any longer." His smile was kind as it had been, amber eyes soft as he looked at the youngster. A quiet one, Wraith observed, who liked his solitude. Wraith could certainly appreciate that and would grant it to him, leaving the option for continued conversation to Greer. It wasn't the male's habit to force his company on anyone.

Standing, he turned towards the female. "Have a good night, Miss Hestia."

With that, Wraith trotted off through the willows before his gait became an easy lope and then a full on run. As always, his ghosts weren't far behind, but he was grateful for the distraction the pair offered.

OOC: Welp, Wraith's a turd. Hahah, he's never all that good at carrying conversation. He'll be around if Hestia or Greer need him, but he doesn't want to make either of them uncomfortable.

Hestia
“Perhaps we will speak together in the future, Wraith.” Hestia’s eyes flickered over to Greer, studious and cool. She had heard the name of the former leader only once before, while eavesdropping upon other nameless, faceless wolves around the pack to get a bit more knowledge of her new settlement. “As for you, Greer… I suppose our next meeting will occur if you allow it.” She murmured, apathetic to his overall attitude. As Wraith departed, Hestia saw to her own leave, turning tail to head in a different direction. She was never one for awkward interactions, and seeing as neither of the pair particularly liked to speak, that was one of the largest outcomes. With a flick of her tail and a small huff of dismay, she began to make her way out of the territory.

Short, sweet, and to the point. Awkward silences are always harder to rp with.

Greer Archer-Lyall
i'll archive this -- thanks for the thread! <33 @Wraith @Hestia

It seemed as though Greer was getting his wish. The awkward encounter was going to end just as quickly as it had started. The male was not as bad as he had initially thought; in fact, the slender shadow would not be against crossing paths with him in the future. However, he was unsure of Hestia. Obviously there was something one of his siblings saw in her, otherwise she would not be standing where she was. Despite this, the prince was still wary of her. She did not seem comfortable with silence (which was usually a red flag for Greer) and preferred to keep her jaws flapping. From what he observed, she also did not seem fond of his quiet demeanour; however, that did not bother him. Most were squeamish in the presence of silence—they did not know how to handle nonverbal exchanges. Fortunately that worked to his benefit. It meant fewer conversations for the selective mute.

Wraith announced he was departing suddenly, his voice soft as it cut through the air between them. The yearling gave a soft, understanding nod in response, his mercury gaze focused on the male. Until next time, the look said as a friendly smile formed on his dark lips. With that, Wraith bid the female farewell before departing into the willows, his body quickly being swallowed up by the shadows. Hestia was quick to give her own good-bye and followed suite, the shadows claiming her as well. His lips curled into a sneer at her absence as he snorted in disdain. They were (for the time being) in the same pack, so it was likely that their paths would cross once more—unwillingly, of course. Bathing in the silence that followed with their absence, Greer remained where he was and settled his hindquarters on the ground. Now he could truly be in peace.
