Hocus Lyall
sorry sorry. didn't realize it was my turn in this. this will be hokey's exit
@Niq'x -> @Tyne -> @Blitz -> @Oula -> @Veho -> @Hocus ->

Apparently there was some confusion about the name. Hocus' expression remained excessively dry as, even with the threat of a physical altercation was fading, the melodrama increased. The wolves had some story about the ocean — he had seen it, not for him— and losing their sister. Well it very much appeared that there were a jolly lot of them: Pip-squeak, the colored eyes, the tresspassing brother, and then the reddish one that hadn't said anything. Like gophers. Hocus' sniffed. Their plight did sound an awful lot like his and Piety's. He could only hope Veho, while being gruff, would relent to the same offer he had given to Hocus.

The tresspasser gave some fluff about oaths and apologies and Hocus snorted, beginning to turn away. He figured it would all turn out happily: Pip would go with them or the ocean wolves join them. But he stiffened at Oula's acrid comments. This was the same sort of stonewall that had kept him from Piety. Even though clearly Pip-squeak wanted to be with her family, or at least protect them. They couldn't keep the sister here against her will. Green eyes slid lazily towards the ginger yearling underneath the brother. Surprisingly, she said nothing. Just wagged her tail and looked around at all of them. His eyes bulged: was she dumb or something?

In the end, Veho did extend the same offer to them. Hocus rolled his shoulders, feeling that things were definitely settled. "Well," he drawled in a half-sigh, "It looks as though I won't be needed. I'll be headed back." He tipped his head to both leaders and fully completed his turn, padding slowly back to the trees that were empty of his Piety.

@Tyne :D

Luckily Blitz had said his piece and apologized for trespassing on their lands. Surely these wolves had family — whether blood related or not — that they would make hasty decisions without immediately thinking of the repercussions. If there had not been so many wolves to great them Niq’x would have explained their situation in further detail, but she knew they did not care. Especially the lead female. It made sense — spring was upon them and with the female nearing her heat, she would not be so lenient of trespassers.

The comment the lead female made about their manners had disappeared with their memories irritated the sea princess. Her lip twitched as she turned her attention away from the female, for she was worried she would say something that would cause the she-wolf to snap. However, the silver female’s next comment almost made up for the previous comment.

Safe. She restrained herself from snorting in laughter. Where Pip would truly be safe was among her own flesh and blood, not with these tree wolves. How could her sister so quickly adapt to life so far away from water? It troubled the agouti otter and it made her worry that they were holding Pip here, using her lack of speech to manipulate her without her realizing it.

The lead male spoke up once more, mentioning that they did not want Pip to venture away from the pack until her injury had healed. Irritation reared it's ugly head as she glanced over at her cowering sister, mismatched eyes softening. For the first time during the cluster#!@$ of events, Niq’x agreed with the brown male. His next collection of words took the otter off guard, her bows narrowing slightly as she listened to his proposition. It was not a horrible idea, but it would have to be discussed. They were sea wolves; they lived off the ocean and the rivers that connected to it. They did not know how to live among the trees where the land was more dry than it was wet. How barbaric. She glanced over at her shadow, her eyes hoping to catch his leafy green gaze before falling back to the lead couple. “Thank you — we will have to talk it over. Another member of our family did not join us today and we will have to discuss it with her.” She knew Nauja would be against it, but joining their pack could be temporary until they decided what to do with their predicament. At least they would all be together… even if it meant having to sleep around trees. Gross. “I promise you that we would carry our own weight; do not let today’s events cloud your judgement of us.” With every prim and proper word that fell off her tongue she hated herself a little bit more. She was not this wolf; so formal and groveling at the paws of another. But, in order to reconnect with their sister it needed to be done.

She flicked her maw at her brother, giving him a knowing gaze to high-tail it out of here before they overstayed their welcome.

Taking a back seat in this situation had proven to be a wise decision. Things had begun to cool down as their situation and reasoning were explained. Rusted audits stood erect to listen to everyone speak. As everyone spoke the agouti yearling couldn’t help think how stupid Blitz was for breaking one of the oldest rules. Despite this rule being broken the Alpha male offered them a spot within their ranks. This took the young hunter by surprise, his eyes dart towards the siblings to gauge their reactions. Niq’x was clearly also taken aback but responded very eloquently. Her formal words were amusing to Tyne. His age-mate hadn’t been one to like to be so formal and preferred to say things exactly as she thought them. He had to give it to her though, given the situation he doesn’t think he would be able to behave so properly.

The sea wolves would most definitely have to discuss what their game plan was now that they had an offer to join a pack. Tyne knows that the girls – Niq’x and Nauja – would be extremely against it. He isn’t too keen on the idea either however he, as a hunter, isn’t as out of place as his fishing pack mates. Pip already being a part of this pack will most likely be a huge factor in what the group decides to do.
