The show of thanks was met with a short bow, and then the impetuous youth was off once more.  Better him than anyone else, Kjors reckoned – as far as he understood, Karina did care for her flame-hearted brother.  Perhaps he could talk some sense into her, bring her home.  At the very least, he had the drive and ambition not to give up should the hunt prove harder than initially expected.

Despite everything, Kjors found he actually had faith in Orren’s ability to find Hearthwood River’s missing princess and return her back home.

Watching the youth as he trekked off, his announcement was met with another nod, a short “Good”, and then the young adult was gone, over the hill and into the horizon.  “Mother watch ya,” he uttered softly to himself.  If nothing else, he deserved a blessing, deserved someone to watch over his shoulder as he went off on his own.  It was a noble quest, a noble cause, and truly, the dragon only wished the young knight the best of luck.

Several minutes later he turned, sighing heavily to himself as he glanced into the heart of the pack’s territory.  Now he must break the news to Kisla, with no reckoning of how the woman would take it.  Better him, he thought – at least he had an understanding of his sky queen.
