Craw
Posting this in WM despite the fact that half of us are well out of the territory in Larkcall :)
RE: Whitestone Monadnock, a funnel cloud reaches toward the earth within your territory before dissipating without incident.
@Wraith, @Isuni are with Craw out in the tundra. @Morganna, Odin, @Kara, @Celandine are chillin' on WM. @Greer, join in either group whenever!
No posting order, nor any time restrictions, because this is just 100% for fun C: I'll use Craw as a rough 'round marker', so I'll post once everybody else has. Feel free to post multiple times in a round if inspiration strikes and you really wanna react to something, I don't care, just have fun! If most/all of us join in we can count this as a pack activity :D

He grunted in laughter, butting his shoulder against Wraith in indignation of his teasing. The sky had grown grey and tumultuous overhead, and a soft fog had descended over the low-rolling tundra, but there were no sounds of a storm brewing, and besides, nothing could be so violent as the day they had arrived - everything else was tame in comparison. Not long earlier, Craw had invited Wraith and Capable to go prowling with him, perhaps with the intention of taking down something big and nasty, either for fun or to feed the others. They were the largest in the pack, and while Craw hardly objected to the company of the others, it was satisfying to be in the presence of wolves who could give and take just as much punishment as himself.

The three of them trotted through the tundra away from the monadnock, the leader content in the knowledge that Celandine was keeping Morganna company. Imagining what casual conversation looked like between those two never failed to entertain him. Perhaps Morganna was regaling the white firecracker with how she had toyed with those two bobcat kittens, and he could picture the dark mirth on the two beautiful faces.

Deciding that he wasn't done reprimanding his companion, Craw went in to snap at his friend's cheek, and in so doing turned his head just enough to get a glimpse of Whitestone in the corner of his eye - and the looming white cloud which had appeared out of nowhere. He hesitated, coming to a stop, ears flicking first forward and then back as he slowly turned, watching as a tendril of pale cloud crept towards his home as if in slow motion, twisting about in the furious winds.

The air blew out of him in a soft oof, unable to comprehend for a moment what he was seeing, knowing only that that giant, delicate cone was reaching, straining, desperately trying to brush its fingertip against his monadnock.

Wraith Kael
With the energy of a puppy – his own revived by the presence of new life within the pack – Wraith bounded out of reach of Craw’s playful snaps. Hoping to encourage Capable into the romp as well, the black brute snaked his neck out to reach for her bushy tail, cackling with laughter as her reaction.

The brute was grateful for the darkening sky, pleased for the way it blocked the worst of the sun’s rays. Since the change of the season, Wraith had been hunting out ways to keep cool with limited success. However, with their new home, the monadnock’s shadow and caves provided a cool place to rest no matter how hot the day. Needless to say, the increased wind today was much welcome even along the tundralands. To the northerner, the colder, the better.

Spinning away from another one of Craw’s snaps, Wraith found his amber eyes equally held on their home. His fur stood on end as he watched the way the cloud formation twisted closer to packlands. A growl began low in his chest, bubbling from his throat as his lips peeled back to reveal his teeth.

He’d never seen such a cloud before, but instinct warned of the danger. “Craw,” he breathed, the tension in his body having nothing to do with their previous game. “We have to go back.”

Greer Archer-Lyall
Greer is between Craw's group & the monadnock, although he is closer to Craw, Wraith & Capable. :-)

His lust for exploring did not lessen once they arrived at the monadnock and settled down. In fact, it had increased considerably, consuming every fibre of his shadowy frame. He chalked it up to scoutly duties, ensuring the borders were secure and no strangers wandered too close to their new home, as he prowled the lowlands on his own. The shadow had no qualms with his packmates — out of the ridge wolves they were the ones he had wanted to come along once he found out about the move. He was just accustom to being alone and preferred it; nothing would change that.

Once he knew that Morganna and her children were being amused by the newest addition to their clan Greer set out for the lowlands. He knew that Craw had taken both Wraith and Capable with him to scour the lands for something to occupy their time with, whether it be prey or foe. While the Archer had no intention of joining them he also did not want to be excluded. He did not want Craw to feel as though he had made a mistake in allowing him to join their group. Despite his nomadic nature, Greer wanted his new alpha (along with his sister) to see him as an asset rather than a burden; that he was not just another mouth to feed. Adjusting was difficult. While he knew that Morganna would understand his habits Craw did not not, and he refused to be favoured due to his lineage.

The sky was dark, looming overhead as he made his way over the lowlands. A shiver ran down his spine as he studied the movements overhead, clouds shifting from snow white into dark charcoal. The wind had begun to pick up, slapping across his dark maw and blurring his vision temporarily. The group was not far ahead — a handful of long strides and he would have joined them — but something caught his attention first. There was something wrong with the clouds. His brows furrowed, mercury gaze hard as he studied the strange formation above. Something was wrong. They had spun around into a shape he had never seen before; something that screamed danger. Turning his attention to his three packmates Greer threw his head back, giving his voice to the wind to notify them of his location and that he was returning to the monadnock. Without hesitation the shadow flung himself forward, his silver gaze fixated on the chunk of rock they called home.

Morganna Archer-Lyall

While Morganna would have very much loved to scour the tundra with the rest of her pack, she also wanted time to get to know @Celandine better so the pair had remained with the children while the others set out (hopefully planning to return with at least a few small lemmings for the children to chew on to spare all their tails and ears). The tempestuous sky overhead was all but ignored by the women, knowing the security of a much larger den was only a small trot away and with two mouths to carry the growing children any downpour would be of little concern.

Watchful eye focused on her romping children, she had been just about to regale the tale of how she had come across the small cavern when the winds whipped up around them. Eyes finally turned to the sky to observe the rapidly swirling clouds overhead, "Yer ever seen anythin' like this before?" she asked her companion, an edge of concern working its way into her voice. All consideration was put behind her as a tendril of cloud began to snake its way down to the earth, "Get Odin!" was all she could manage over the roaring winds, frantically clawing at the earth as parted jaws reached to snatch up @Kara.

They needed to get underground.

Celandine Argyris
pleaseeee excuse this terrible reply. I'm up north with Maeby, so I have to do replies on my phone x.x

Celandine hadn’t made it a point to stay behind. In fact, she was utterly disappointed that the others had taken off without her, leaving the cubs and Morganna in her capable (but disappointed) paws. It wasn’t that the fae disliked their new queen, but rather that she wasn’t fond of cubs. They had become a sort of sore spot nearly a year ago. Even knowing that she held no claim beyond her subordinate status to these lands didn’t prove to warm her to the idea of tiny creatures mewling for the mother at all hours of the night. At least these ones looked strong. Much more than Silent Moon’s cubs had. Maybe it was just their spirit, but regardless they weren’t as bad.

She was listening idly to Morganna, unconcerned about the sudden shift in the weather. A little storm would be a welcome break from the summer sun anyhow. It was with that thought that a near deafening noise erupted overhead. Amber eyes cast an upward glance to the spinning clouds which threatened to blow the whole monadnock away. The dark woman’s voice was almost lost to the roar, as Celandine shot up. She ran for the cub— in a display that was very unlike her—grabbing his pudgy form up between her jaws and flying after the queen.

Odin Archer

There they had been, happily minding their own business, he was just about to land the perfect hit on Kára, one that he hoped would knock her right to the ground, giving him this round when the first peal of thunder rolled overhead. It wasn't that the noise or the bright flash scared him at all, it had simply caught him unawares. His quick glance to the sky was enough of a distraction for his sister to collide with his unprepared frame instead, paws wrapping around his neck, forcing him to the ground as his mouth opened in a surprised 'not fair!' before her needle-like teeth clamped down on his dark ear.

The boy growled, and flailed intent on getting up and his getting his revenge, but he felt the shift of atmosphere in his gut, the lurch enough to make him gag. Something felt wrong. Oh so very wrong. Blue eyes turned on mother and the white big his questioning glance only answered by his mothers jaws closing around @Kara and the white jaws clamping around him. Rood he would have squeaked if he hadn't been turned in such a way to see the clouds reaching down to touch the earth where they had been playing just a moment before. What on earth was that?

Capable

The invitation to hunt was far too fine to pass up, and Capable soon found herself with the largest of her packmates, traveling across the tundra in good time.  Moving always felt the most freeing to the woman – her paws thundering against the dry earth, the wind bustling past her face as it hurried through the grasses.  Oh, she’d not become fond of hot very hot it became this far south, but oh!  How different it was from Moose’s Tooth – and so she even found it within herself to take pleasure in that, only breaking from her thoughts when Wraith grabbed her tail.

She halted, her every intention to slam into Wraith’s side – Capable only knew how to play rough – when the males came to a sudden halt as well.  For a moment, the redhead wondered how she’d been seen through when she realized they were looking away.  Craning her neck, sienna eyes found the furious vexation upon the horizon, reaching out like a tendril, a bridge between this world and the next.

Valhalla, said a voice, sounding suspiciously like Arrow, and she shook it from her skull.

Instead, she stepped forward with none of fear in Wraith’s heart, eyes growing wide as she watched the storm.  “Wait,” she hissed, taking another step.  “Wait!  If it touches the rocks, then we’ll know—“

Craw
Gonna start the next round, don't know if @Kara planning on joining but obviously hop in if and whenever you want, Ghost! No posting order! @Morganna @Wraith @Isuni @Greer @Celandine

The weight of Wraith's few words crashed into Craw's gut like an anvil. The tips of his canines were visible behind his black lips as his mouth hung slightly open, unable to comprehend exactly what he was seeing but only knowing that it filled him with dread. Was it just a brief construct which would vanish harmlessly like so many cloud formations, or was it more sinister? Nothing which stretched from the sky like that could be good - and then it struck him why the sight was so frightful. He did know what tornados looked like.

There was no doubt that Wraith spoke true, though his basic instincts told him to run away from such a vicious column of air, warring with his more overpowering need to make sure that the others were safe - Morganna, Celandine and the puppies were still up there. Greer's voice joined the howling of the wind and Craw's gaze dropped to see the black shadow running towards the monadnock, the Archer must have been following them.

Wraith's words flashed through his skull as Capable stepped forward, and Craw saw the look on her face, and her own urgings gave him pause. But a leader should not be indecisive.

"Go," he hissed at Wraith, I'll be right behind you, knowing that the Second would be able to provide every bit of support that Craw himself could, and then rounded on the red woman. "Then we'll know what?"

Capable

Wraith went – this did not surprise the woman in the least, her dark eyes still locked upon the swirling skies.  The wind kicked up around the, racing through the grass, and towards the finger in the sky.  Though her packmates seemed concerned to run back to the manadnock, she could not be moved.  The wind would land, or it wouldn’t.  The wind would destroy, ot it wouldn’t, and she would not get herself killed trying to chance the forces of nature.

“What a lovely day.”

With the wind blowing her dark red fur all about, she tipped her head, eyes seeking Craw’s, Craw seeking answers.  “Valhalla,” she replied, as it were the most obvious thing in the world.  “A warrior’s rest, at the end of his life.  If he’s worthy.” He, she said, because it had always been.  Because she still did not consider herself one just yet.  Because it was what she knew“Judgement.  If it touches, and does not destroy--”  Her expression could only be described as wild as she looked from the alpha back to the pack lands, the structure slowly linked to the sky by the furious funnel.

“—then it has been found worthy.  We have been found worthy.”
