AW, Maybe @Mako or @Marina?
While she had once been somewhat nocturnal, sleeping in short spurts during the day and active throughout most of the night her schedule had changed since Lila's birth. If she ever needed someone to watch over the den while she stretched her legs or relieved herself it was much more likely someone would be nearby during daylight hours. Today once the sun had passed the highest tip in the sky her mouth had felt as if it was full of sand it was so dry, luckily @Sahalie had been near and agreed to pup sit. The dark yearling had been helpful since the birth of her youngest daughter and it made her feel particularly smug that she seemed to have the same feelings toward Naira as the older woman did. In fact she often thought of Sahalie's disdainful "How old even is she?" whenever she was in a need of a good laugh.
Aponi had sated her thirst and was turning to return to the birthing den when something gleamed dully out the corner of her eye. Nudging the cattails out of the way so she could peer closer the trio of duck eggs lay nestled within the hay like grass. Mostly white they were covered in small brown speckles and there was no sign of nearby debris so these were not just the duds. Pulling away the new mother glanced around briefly for the parents, the last thing she needed was an angry duck pulling out her fur.
