For @Cinaed, since I don't think you ever got around to starting something for them <3

She was hungry! And not for milk, that sour, soupy mess. No, she wanted to good stuff, the food the grown-ups brought, bloody and delicious! But there seemed to be no one around, this had become a regular occurrence, apparently they were big enough to handle themselves now. Though only inside the territory, and they hadn't gotten to go out with the adults either, just had to sit on their butts and wait for them to come traipsing back with dinner. Boring! Flair had begged and pleaded over and over, but her mother insisted that they were still too young. Stupid grown-ups couldn't make up their minds, too old to be coddled, but too young to do anything fun!

So here was the misplaced, red pup, sniffing around the edges of the clearing surrounding the pack den, looking for something edible. Or chewable at least. She knew the adults buried some food around here, somewhere, though it wasn't as good as fresh kills, it would do in a pinch, at least to carry through until someone returned with something better. She sniffed and scraped at the earth, trying to decipher the many different smells that were still kind of a blur to her. No luck. She was about ready to sit back and cry, or rather wail, that usually helped lure out pack members. It was either that or head back to the den, to chew on her brother's tail, rather than something eatable.

Again, so sorry this took so long! @Flair

The young pup was eagerly out exploring… again, though his face wasn’t the most expressive of his emotions and his thumps of paws hitting the ground weren’t too loud – he didn’t want to draw attention to himself, after all, because attention meant people watching over him when he wanted to learn something for himself. Of course, that didn’t necessarily mean he wouldn’t mind the company. He was licking his chops, his puppy blue eyes. His nose was at work, sniffing around for something to eat… and that was when he caught the stench of something not quite as edible, but all too familiar.

It was the tail chewer! His eyes narrowed lightly though it was more of a playful narrow than a full aggressive one, his tail calming down from the soft wag that it had carried as he crept through the somewhat familiar territory, trying to follow it. His sister was always about causing trouble for him, and Enia and their parents and even the rest of the pack… at least, that was how Cináed saw it. His nose crinkled slightly as he got closer, waiting for the right opportunity to make his presence known to her, if she couldn’t smell him already. “Whatcha doin’, Flair?” He questioned as he stepped out with a curious expression hinting his features.

Some luck was with her at least, as it seemed she wouldn't have to go looking for Cináed. Her brother stepped out of the thicket on quiet paws, his approach going completely unheard by the girl, engrossed in her own dings. Russet head shot up at the movement caught out the corner of her eye, ears falling backwards as she spun to face the dark boy. He was looking down at her, with that annoying, innocent expression of his, and as a question fell from his lips, she narrowed her eyes. There was always a question with Cináed, he couldn't just stick to himself and figure things out, though he didn't speak much, almost every word out of his mouth was: what, when, why!

Flair snorted derisively, straightening herself to her fullest height; "None of your bus-ness!" Whatever food she'd manage to find, she wasn't sharing. But now that he was here, the urge to take a bite of his tail instead was ever so tempting. In fact she was readying to pounce, when a gust of wind brought something much more interesting to her young nose. Most smells were still a big muddle to the pup, but this one she recognized, inadvertently bringing a wag to her tail, and a smile to her face; "Food!" Her head turned, eyes springing wide, drool already gathering at the corners of her mouth. Finally they were back!

She didn't pause more than a second, jumping eagerly into the woods to meet the homecoming hunters. Her nose led her as she raced through the thicket, oversized paws falling adeptly in between the bramble. She didn't even notice the border as it passed under them, so focused on the tantalizing promise of food. When finally she found the half-eaten carcass though, she stopped dead in her tracks, utterly confused at the sight before her. No happy faces greeted her, no wagging tails or bloodied muzzle's to lick, just the abandoned meal on the ground, covered in buzzing flies. "Di' they eat already?"
