The shark ambled towards the territory's bounds, his hungry amber eyes glinting as he searched the horizon. It would have been nice to see something that was big enough to hunt, but all he saw was snow in all directions. The only features of interest were birds, which were much too hard to catch during the day, and big grey boulders that lay scattered around the landscape. He wondered what was even under all that snow, or if the ground, too, was stone.
Mako couldn't say he had necessarily been looking for it, but was oh so helpless but to follow the sweet scent of meat. Mako tracked the scent to a massive stone that was so big he couldn't reach the top even standing on his hind limbs. Perhaps a bobcat had jumped up there and left something on the top, but he didn't think so. He stubbornly circled around the big boulder, his nose leading him to a huge stone that sat next to it, looking much like the boulder's baby.
Ah ha! Right here. Someone had thought to hide their cache beneath the boulderette, which stank of Capable. He braced his shoulder up against it and gave a mighty shove. It didn't budge. He backed up and took a running charge. Still the stone barely jiggled with his only reward a bruise. He huffed in annoyance, obviously Capable was some sort of titan, it was much too heavy to move by himself. He'd need help for this one. Fortunately, he knew just the wolf he could depend on.
Mako backtracked towards where he had seen Marina earlier that day, near a rocky scree up a steep hillside. He peered up the side of the crag, eyes squinting for the brown and grey form camouflaged against the stone. "Hey, sis!" He hollered up, his black tail swishing behind him. "You hungry?"
