Veho Macieo
This is a pack howl.  Please have your wolf respond before 2/24!  No posting order.  This will only be three rounds, so let's keep it short and sweet.  <3
@Rook @Ophelia @Tomen @Nineva @Amaryllis @Yvly @Tyne

Anxiety gnawed away at Veho’s heart, and the man knew as soon as he got Amaryllis properly settled into her new role as Grizzly Hollow’s female alpha, he would have to steal some time for himself.  He’d find those mushrooms he’d stayed against consuming and bring them, perhaps to the den Rook had built for them both, and finally take part in their special brand of magic.  This was the emergency he’d been waiting for, he supposed bitterly.  Perhaps he’d painted the devil on the wall.  If anything happened to Oula (or Joan) because if this, he’d never—

Veho shook himself as he slowed to a halt, standing in the center of Grizzly Hollow’s territory.  He tipped his head back and howled, voice ringing clear through the entirety of the cedar forest.  Where are you? he asked each of the others – he’d seen Pip, he knew where his little sister was, but he couldn’t give Azar what he wanted, and he just – the others needed to be safe.  And they needed to know.  But one message at a time.  Song was not so easy to carry entire conversations.  Are you safe?

And the rest of the pack would have to answer before he could press on.

Rook Lyall
don't repeat my mistakes, I won't sleep 'til you're safe inside

Rook had been busy searching for salvagable materials (old and withered herbs, frozen moss that would eventually thaw, dead leaves that had blown into the Cedarwood from faraway places, etc.) to line his and Veho's new den. Since @Ophelia's declaration that they should find Oula, the Lyall had kept constant mental note on @Felix's whereabouts. Veho and Ophelia would search where they could; meanwhile, Rook and Felix would remain in the parts of the territory where Amaryllis and Crystal were not... just to keep their bases covered, just in case Oula returned on her own accord... Yet, when that familiar note came up in the heart of Grizzly Hollow - well beyond his line of sight, but still fairly close by - Rook's ears came up. The messages were simple, and Veho asked two simple things:

Where are you? Are you safe?

From the outskirts along Jasper Rocks, some meters from medicinal den, Rook let out an inquisitive and concerned howl of his own. First, the sound alone told the others that he was nearby. Second, he was evidently all right but unmistakably worried.

Over here. Safe...?

Mismatched eyes scanned the forest before him. His legs itched to meet Veho who could have been no more than just a few mere minutes away. He took one step, but hesitated. Perhaps it was not safe to move. Panic set in; it took everything within him to back towards the den in the riverbank. His ears kept twitching, his senses on overdrive as he waited. All he could think of was his family - Ophelia, Felix, Oula, Joan, Veho, Tomen... Howl back, he silently urged to them. Let us know you're okay, too.

Ophelia Macieo

Ophelia, notorious for not coming when called or ignoring such pack gatherings, actually threw up her answer quickly. Safe. Coming. The pale princess actually abandoned her current mission of trailing a rabbit. Any hope of catching it unawares was dashed the very moment she responded. She'd been hunting for her mother quite incessantly, believe it or not, but found she needed the mental break that came with hunting for something that she had a higher likelihood of finding.

Truthfully, Ophelia feared her mother had simply gone off on her own again with no mention, no goodbye. It would be another betrayal, and this one would cut deeper. By now, Oula knew how sensitive her daughter could be, and was highly reactive to any imagined sleights. She figured her mother would know to give her ample warning and sit down with an explanation. Unless she simply didn't care. And with all the effort the pair had put into their relationship recently, she had a hard time believing it.

Putting on a burst of speed, Ophelia arrived quickly on scene and greeted Veho with an insistent nuzzle along his chest before lifting peridot eyes to frown with concern. "What's happened? Is everything okay? Did you find her?" she asked, firing off the questions without offering any time for her father to explain.

Amaryllis Azalea

It was clear something was wrong as Veho's voice as it rang out in the air, as puzzlement and worry settled into her bones as she wondered just what the hell was going on. Oula had been gone far too long and so had Joan. But this seemed to be something...more.

Where are you? the words echoed in her mind, as she raised her head to answer back. are you safe? Of course I'm safe, she thought, still puzzled but knowing it would help settle Veho upon hearing her voice and knowing she was safe, along with their other pack mates. Rook's voice had gone up just before her's, indicating where he was and that he was fine too. So had Ophelia's and it settled her heart to know at least one pup was fine. Felix had to be fine too. It was Joan that was the pup to worry about.

I'm safe, over here, She was atop of Limestone Bluff, having used the heights to watch over the lands before her, as her howl resounded loudly in her ears and in the air as it answered to Veho's howl. Her heart beat sporadically in her chest as she wondered if she should head towards where Veho was. But it wasn't a call to come to him yet, just a call to see where they were and if they were safe. Deciding on what to do, she sent out a hesitant howl that simply asked what's wrong? Come too?.

Though if he did need her and presumably the others too, he'd use his next howl to surely call them all in.

Tyne Kersey

The day was warmer than recent ones. Creamy limbs walked easily through the melting snow as golden eyes searched for any signs of prey. Hunting was what he was good at so that's what he spent most of his time doing. He knew he should be more involved with his packmates but couldn't find the drive to do just that. So he wandered about, but today was different. A howl rang through the cedars reaching the tawny mans charcoal dusted ears. The voice was easily recognizable as that of Veho's. His tone and words concerned the Kersey man where are you? Are you safe? Where was he? Why would that be important unless... His audits pressed almost painfully atop his skull listening for any chirp like sound. He knew the small Mizuno woman couldn't howl back but he'd expect her to try to make any sound she could where ever she was. He listened before placing his own call despite most of his packmates were strangers and he wouldn't be likely to put a face or name to a voice. Unsurprisingly a strange males voice was first to reply followed by that of a young girl, whom of which Tyne figured to be one of the pups, then a unfamiliar female voice replied. Moments passed with no other calls so the tawny man tilted his skull back to add his own voice to the air. "I'm here nothing to worry about. Is everything okay?" He would have set off towards Veho if he had called for it. Since he did not the large sea wolf moved about intent on finding @Pip to make sure she was safe as well.

Felix Macieo

Even in the thick of winter, Felix found ways to amuse himself. Things had been rather…tense around Grizzly Hollow of late. Between Joan’s disappearance, and Oula’s failure to return from the search for his sister, it had left many of the adults worried. Not that the boy could blame them, really, but it meant that whenever he wished to be out and about, he was to be with Rook. And there was nothing wrong with spending time with his Papa, but… Well, adventures just weren’t the same when you had to explain them. He felt embarrassed more than anything, his hobbies were just so silly, and it was with great guilt that the young Macieo had snuck out just now to look for some of the wintering birds when his father’s call went up.

Felix went rigid, fear racing down his spine as he plastered his ears against his skull. For a moment, he thought perhaps his father somehow knew that he’d crossed the borders alone, but other answers soon followed. It was a pack thing. Relief flooded through him, and he raced along wobbly legs, not daring answer until he was back within the safety of Grizzly Hollow’s borders.

I’m here! Safe! he responded, brows furrowing against his skull. Tyne seemed to be the closest wolf to his general whereabouts, and the young pup maneuvered, trying to hone in one the sea wolf. What was going on?

Pip Mizuno-Sørenson

Her hackles were still lifted high from the interaction with the vile man who had come to threaten them at their own borders. Never before had Pip felt so violently inclined and she found she knew not what to do with the pent of energy. It was frightening, to say the least. The mute had separated from @Veho only long enough to relieve herself and patrol the edges of the borders where Azar had last been spotted.

How dare he?! How dare he threaten them, endanger @Oula. Oula! She was still out there. Restrained. What did that even mean? How was he keeping her in place? Pip thought for the first time in ages of the circumstances that had led her and her family to be left in this place. An odd sting, loud noises, and odd two-legged creatures. It felt like such a far off dream now. But how any wolf could harness such an ability was well beyond Pip. Surely there was a simpler explanation.

As the pack responded to their Alpha's call, Pip trotted back towards him. Only Ophelia had arrived to see what her father was calling for in person. Had the young girl been sticking near the den as she'd been told? Shock, but also a bit of admiration, showed clearly on the mute's face. Maybe she was learning how to behave.

Rather than risk the girl's ire, though it was unlikely she would be attacked with Veho standing right there, Pip settled down on the ground nearby and waited for the others to get their summons. Their safety, at least, had been verified. Now they needed to come together to save Oula!

2/3 rounds.  Please answer back by 3/11!
@Pip @Rook @Tomen @Nineva @Yvly @Amaryllis @Blitz

At the very least, his children had answers – or, rather, the children still within the pack.  His heart panged at the thought of Joan.  Though it was unlikely the stranger had his eldest daughter as well (for surely he would have used all the leverage he had), there was still a possibility that the man would run into the coming yearling and use her as a bargaining chip to find this other wolf he was looking for.  The calls of the others were able to shake the alpha from his morbid thoughts, for his partner was among those who answered, as well.  Strangely lacking was Tomen and Nineva – perhaps the pair of yearlings had gone off together.  At least, he reckoned, they were obeying the recent change of rules.  He would have to search them out soon.

“I haven’t found her, Ophelia,” he sighed softly. “But someone else has.”

The world is full of bad people, my little love.

But before he explained, he had to inform the rest of the pack.  Danger.  Lone wolf.  Using Oula as bait.  His song was shaking, the distress and anger becoming more and more evident as his tone went on.  Have you seen Tomen and Nineva?

Tyne Kersey

OOC! @Felix I hope it was okay for me to say that he ran into Felix. If not let me know :)

Creamy limbs moved through the cedars as the hunters nose did its best to located the scent of his age-mate. His charcoal dusted audits swiveled about it to catch any more howls. That of Felix's followed his own and the tawny man turned to go look for the boy. There was something in Vehos voice that didnt sit well with Tyne. The uneasy feeling only intensified when the hallows leader called out again. Danger? Lone Wolf? Using Oula as bait? A growl left the large mans throat as he pick up his pace to find the pup. While he wasn't close with the pack he would remain loyal and protective of its members. It was simply in his nature.

It wasn't long before he came across the grey pup. Golden eyes scanned him over to make sure he was alright. "You okay?" He asked despite being able to see that he seemed fine. Tyne allowed him to respond before speaking again "Do you happen to know where Pip might be?" The large sea wolf was still concerned for her whereabouts for she could call out. What if this loner got to her? The thought made his fur want to bristle and a growl threatened to emerged again. The agouti man suppressed both urges as he scanned the trees as if the threat would appear right then. Looking back to Felix he pressed his nose into the boys shoulder. "Do you wanna go find your dad?" He asked allowing the prince to decide. Tyne was fine either way as long as he could make sure Pip was safe.
