Ravenna Archer-Lyall
This is generally for anyone, though if @Renier or @Sven would like to step in for some awkward moments, that would prove interesting too. :)

The odd warmth of this day was a reminder to Ravenna that spring was just around the corner. Soon, the cold and bitter chill that had been holding the lands would break free, offering new life to the land of Relic Lore. There would be herbs returning to the land and in the Drooping Willows area, just next to the lagoon and fields they would not have to travel as vast trying to find a good meal. The foliage would grow, offering much more open supply of herbs and puppies in a manner of a few months would be born, bringing happiness and a new purpose to the packs that scattered the Lore.

However, this day in particular, Ravenna was not feeling exactly cheerful. Breeding season was here and something Ravenna could have never prepared herself for. Last year she was merely a teenager, watching along as her sister and mother and even Enoki acted oddly, emotions at ends with one another. Men everywhere seemed drawn in, attraction and aggression mixed. It had been explained vaguely to Ravenna what it was like to go through this. As far as Ravenna understood, breeding had been traditionally the rights of the leading pair and leading pair only, to insure that when winter came again, there would be enough food to supply the leader's puppies who were most important over all. The silvery girl could remember back then, how mother had secretly blamed herself for allowing Sven to stay in the pack. Though Elettra never spoke it, the wonder was there in her eyes. She had never lost a child before Isolde and that was equally the first time she allowed another puppy to stay within her ranks to fend for. As Ravenna knew it, unless you were a leader or had permission to breed under dire circumstances (one of the leaders was unable to have children, ranks were really low, leader did not have a mate...) then the 'season of love' was more or less the season of annoyance and trails.

She could feel the quiver in her being, the yearning to go out into the world, to find someone to press against, to find comfort in... Ravenna only made it as far as the outskirts of her territory. She was the only other female within the ranks fully capable of breeding. She was young, being this was her first season to feel such desires, and she was the recently fallen matriarchs daughter. The Archer-Lyall woman had no intentions of making Enoki feel uncomfortable or threatened, so kept her distance. Surely no loners would dare come to close to pack borders, lest they were daring or bold enough to follow the lingering scent of Ravenna. The woman wondered now if her uncle Nicolo had made his way to Enoki's affections or had instead her cousin Renier overthrew Nicolo by his rights as leader... And Sven, what of him? Would he follow the same path his father had or had Sven after all become a far different man then his father, learning from his mistakes? Growling with an irritation in herself, the large woman trekked around the outskirts of her home, ready for the month to end. ””

Sven Archer

Most often, if Sven was home and not visiting @Leotie and @Kerberos at the Draw or spending time with @Attica, he was following @Enoki at a distance, protective of her state and determined to defend against all the undesirable consequences it might bear. Yet Ravenna's scent had also begun to change in the same way, and that was of little surprise. Like Sven, she was a rather eminent creature, and simply having another female above her would not be enough to discourage what genetics knew to be true; she was bred and raised to be a queen.

Still, thankfully, she required less attention to protect, as most men within the pack were blood relatives. Still, that dominant nature within him demanded that he be watchful of her as well, ensuring that no one attempted to take advantage of the silver woman. It wasn't that he doubted her ability to care for herself nor diligence to pack hierarchy, and while Sven was a particularly possessive wolf it wasn't that impulse which led him. It was simply instinct, as well as preparation for what was to come by the week's end.

Her growl carried through the air, lifting his ears upwards. Really, a part of him was mildly amused by her agitation. There was, after all, a small part of him that would always take mild pleasure in her vexations as revenge for all the times she had snubbed them through their lifetime. Still, he knew very well not to poke the bear, so to speak, and so he kept his distance. A soft boof escaped him, cheeks puffing out with the sound as his tail wagged amiably behind him. Maybe she wouldn't mind his company?

Ravenna Archer-Lyall

There was someone trailing her, though it did not take the pale woman long to notice who it was. The start white wolf within their pack territory, no other then Sven Archer. She waited a while, wondering along the pack's borders without greeting him, not until his 'boof' sounding bark reached out towards her in greeting. She turns around and tosses around her shoulder, held high with perked ears as she watches him move in closer to her. She answers with a bark of her own, a bellowed 'row', her tail then waving slowly behind her to mimic his own sway of his tail. She wondered if he was here to mock her discomfort, for they, much like siblings, seemed to go back and forth with one another. Growing to love one another but equally trying to outwit and finding favor to toy with each other. Today it seemed, whilst she was in heat and most unhappy about it, he held the advantage.

”Fuck this time of year.” She proclaims out loud, taking a few heavy, trudging footsteps into his direction. She always walked with a heavy stride, though each step with as much pride and power as her mother before her. ”We are slaves to our instinct and it is the woman who carry the burdens of the aftermath.” It was mostly just her thoughts spoken out loud, though she did not feel the need to hide them from Sven. Even when she had very firmly disliked him as a puppy she had no hid her feelings of it. Ravenna's nose wrinkled. She could smell it in the air. So many men taking the bait hung out for them and so many woman yearning to do what they were made to do, breed. Only then after there were so many single parents, hungry pups and even abandoned children left in the wake of it all. Ravenna would do her damned best to make sure there would not be another mistake like that. She hoped that any child, be in Enoki's, Nicolo's or Renier's, would be well protected and cared for. Ravenna shakes out her pelt, a quiver moving along her spine and through her legs. With Sven here, perhaps he could help her keep her mind off things. ”Here to keep me in check, Sven?”””
